Welcome to Japan, Ms. Elf Connection is set to Feature the Musical Stylings of Kaede Higuchi and Kanae

There’s more than Dungeons and Dragons in store with Welcome to Japan, Ms. Elf! The music of Kaede Higuchi and Kanae will close off and may tie in to what’s going on when this anime debuts!

Kaede Higuchi and Kanae’s New Single Yummy YummyVTubing is very popular in Asia and they’re becoming much more mainstream. According to the latest news, the ending theme for the anime, Welcome to Japan, Ms. Elf! will be sung by virtual idols Kaede Higuchi and Kanae. These two talents from the Nijisanji group operated by ANYCOLOR Inc. are getting noticee, and their song “Yummy Yummy” is set to debut January 29, 2025 and the series will begin broadcasting that month.

As for when this phenomenon will be noticeable in the Western world, that’s still an uncertainty. I fully expect it to happen at some point, but for now, I will just watch what this fast paced industry is pumping out and offer some editorial when it’s appropriate. I’m more curious about the anime, hence my interest about this news!

Although manga artist Pandania’s Cthulhu Cat is not the first time a Great Old One morphed to another form, I fell in love with the idea ever since I watched The Real Ghostbusters episode, “The Collect Call of Cathulhu.”

As a result, I often wondered if I’d see some iteration again? After all, most of Lovecraft’s ideas are now in the public domain. On the RPG front, Sixtystone Press’ Cathulhu for Call of Cthulhu about two years ago. To find renditions thereof is hit-and-miss when looking on the internet and artists’ alley during conventions. I have to mention Tentacle Kitty because I believe H.P. Lovecraft‘s love for cats inspired this IP.

When The Mysterious Nie Xiaoqian: A Chinese Ghost Story (小倩) Gets A New Date!

Like its namesake, let’s hope this new take on A Chinese Ghost Story isn’t just a fading dream. This film has a new release date, and as for when it’ll come out in the Americas, that’s anyone’s guess.

Nie Xiaoqian: A Chinese Ghost Story Nie Xiaoqian: A Chinese Ghost Story has a new release date, and according to AsianFilmFans YouTube information, that’s Dec 6, 2024! Whether this is for its debut in China or an international date, the latter is unlikely. This animated movie was supposed to come out in April of this year, but with no media coverage and reviews to be found, perhaps the film wasn’t ready. When considering the credits lists first-time director Qichao Mao in charge, perhaps he realised there’s some flaws that needed fixing.

Between the older trailer and newest, there’s a lot more story revealed. Siu-sin is tied up, and shows no love for her captor. It’s some greater force who have kept others from ascending. In Bhuddism, there’s sometimes the hope for reincarnation or even a new life in a new realm, but here, there are unearthly forces who want to control spirits!

Godzilla vs Cthulhu, When a Titan and Great Old One Meets, Does the Phrase “Death May Die.” Matter Anymore?

Godzilla vs Cthulhu Death May Die ComicNo knowledge of the game is required to understand Godzilla vs Cthulhu: Death May Die. This comic book released by CMON Games is only sold at specific comic conventions, and as for whether there’ll be a market version, I’m doubtful. This showdown is a concept many fans have asked for. While I’m glad someone has taken up the challenge to write up a story concept of seeing these two fight one another, ultimately, in the end, the payoff was rather disappointing.

Obviously, there can’t be a clear winner (or loser). But c’mon, why can’t we at least see both sides licking their wounds?

While this one-shot written by Jonathan Maberry and illustrated by Bruno Abdias is not the only title set in this Death May Die universe, I have to wonder if any of the comics are meant to one day lead up to how the game ends? What this team wrote felt like a spec product than anything meaningful. Basically, the idea concerns preventing the second coming (of the Great Old Ones). Like in Arkham Horror the board/card game, there’s a timer (a doom track) that counts down to when all the seals are broken and all hell breaks loose! Everything Computes in The Wild Robot

The beauty that’s found in The Wild Robot concerns how to let go, and reuinite with those who you love. It doesn’t matter if the species is man, machine or mammal.

The Wild Robot Movie PosterThe Wild Robot is a perfect return to form. When Chris Sanders and Dean DeBlois are working together to craft (or adapt) a story, there’s magic to behold. Although I can recognize the tropes they’ve been using ever since Lilo and Stitch (concerning runts of the litter and the Ugly Duckling motif), what’s presented in DreamWorks latest is a variation of that formula. Here, it’s about the relationship between machines and nature.

Here, the focus is on how creatures all great and small can get along and is more concerned about survival in a wild frontier. When a delivery of robots gets lost during a storm, I can imagine the company who made them can always build more rather than retrieve the items for scrap. As for the one who activated, Fink (Pedro Pascal) bypasses his natural fox instinct to teach the machine about the rules of the jungle.
