The Best Dark Horse Comics March Reads

Dark Horse Logo Spring is in the air, and the best way to read any book is outdoors. Not all readers are indoor types, and the best way to settle into the season, for me at least, is with a graphic novel and enjoying the sea breeze. Hopefully, there won’t be too many April showers ahead, but on a good day (at time of writing), I offer my selection of works recently released to enjoy the season with. They range from mythical fantasy to humour.

Is It a Bungle in the Jungle with The Lost City?

Much of the adventure bounces between reveals of where these characters came from and how they can find that jungle gold in The Lost City.

Aaron and Adam Nee certainly have a solid vision when it comes to delivering high adventure comedy in The Lost City. The Sandra Bullock, Channing Tatum and Daniel Radcliffe led film is just one of many new experiments to find a team up to equal if not rival what Netflix’s Red Notice conveniently reignited the spark on–a twisted romance and high stakes adventure-drama. The first two have a schtick going, and although Radcliffe seems like the odd man out, he knows how to have fun with it and he surprised me as being an effective rogue.

In this tale, Loretta Sage (Bullock) is a lost soul. She’s never been the same ever since her husband died. This author hides behind her fiction to get by, but she’s suffering from more than just clinical depression. She thinks she can get past her problems by penning Harlequin adventure romance novels and what we see is that it’s making her feel worse. There are little details not said to flesh out her state of mind. We eventually learn she hates writing these tales. But when she gets tossed into the situation as found in the books, I can’t help but wonder if she experienced any of it at all back when she was with her husband who’s a globe trotting adventurer.

Mighty Goose To Lay A Free DLC!

Mighty Goose, the over the top, run-and-gun, titled goose game, will have, during April’s holiday, an Easter egg of sorts. It’s a free DLC that’ll hatch Tuesday, April 19.

It should be noted that it’s playable after players have finished the main story. It’ll continue in the antics, and will take to the high seas for where this quack goes: This underwater adventure will be available for the Nintendo Switch, Steam for PC, Mac, and Linux; PlayStation 4 and 5; and Game Pass for PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.

About the Mysticism and the Myths You Need to Know Before Moon Knight

What’s done so far in Moon Knight is a delicate balance between what the mythology represents to moments of crazy superheroics.

Oscar Issac is not only the supervillain Apocalypse but also the masked superhero Moon Knight in two (finally united) Marvel Comics Cinematic Universe properties. Both have very loose Ancient Egyptian connections, and this actor is terrific at making us believe he has multiple personalities. Technically, his character has a dissociative identity disorder, and just how many he has would be telling.

In the first episode. Steven Grant isn’t sure about what’s going on with his life. He’s prone to black outs and has to live in seclusion because he fears something is out to get him–or rather, dreads what happens when he’s asleep. He works at the British Museum as a gift shop clerk. His mates at work don’t pay him any heed, and more often than not, step all over him.

How to Paint the City of Lights Gagarine

This introspective film begins with archive footage of cosmonaut Yuri Gagarine visiting France to inaugurate the building back in the 60s before jumping to today, where we find that spit and shine all gone.

Before the young Youri (Alséni Bathily) can dream of conquering outer space, he has to deal with the inner place that’s about to implode around him. In Gagarine, he has to face the cold hard fact the building he lives in is slated to be demolished. This film looks at a side of Parisian life rarely explored. It’s a story about the less fortunate and directors Fanny Liatard and Jérémy Trouilh do a fantastic job at revealing this world rarely talked about. It’s not all that glamourous in those parts.

EarthWorks Games’ Forts Takes to the High Seas in this latest DLC

Players have to deal with buoyancy physics. Like the original, you can’t stack haphazardly without causing the building to collapse. In this latest, you can’t weigh down your own ship.

EarthWork Games’ Forts is a video game that encourages players to build structures on the fly to not only protect the base but also prevent resources from being destroyed. It’s gained enough accolades since 2017 to discuss the finer points of strategy and construction on Discord. To refresh the game, this company’s downloadable content has taken the battle to NEARLY everywhere, including the moon!

The High Seas DLC is the latest, and it introduces an all new story and crazy dynamic to make combat tough. Max Capacitor is a captain in the United Navies in search of his father (a scientist) who made a mega-weapon. Whoever finds him first holds the fate of the entire world in his hands. This idea needs a graphic novel to fill in the character development, and until that happens, the cut scenes shouldn’t be skipped.
