Cinderella Switch Vol 4 in Review and Who’s Next in Part 5

VTubing is a coming thing and Cinderella Switch is on Board with their virtual reality concert on Oculus/Meta devices!

If only Virtual YouTubers existed back in the 1980s, I’m sure EVE from Megazone 23 would’ve endured beyond the golden age of anime. She’d even be ‘upgraded’ with the times. Well, technically, she was an avatar, a computer program designed to keep an eye on the people of Earth on floating cities. Her presence is meant to keep the populace happy, and the virtual idols of today serve a similar purpose–and Cinderella Switch aims to take charge!

As for other virtual idols, their celebrity lifestyle is something fans want to follow; Himemori Luna (姫森ルーナ) and Natsuiro Matsuri (夏色まつり) is ) are two beloved video bloggers on YouTube who have a massive following. According to the VTuber Wiki, the number of subscribers to these idols and many more number in the millions. These two are the latest to perform a virtual concert last weekend!

Cinderella Switch -Futari de miru Hololive- cycles through popular virtual idol singers per show and unlike their regular YouTube content, which also puts their life on spotlight, these performances allow fans see them sing from the best seat in the house. The shows are “managed” by VARK Inc, considered a leader in this VR concert industry, and software that’s developed puts viewers into a cartoon.

This show realizes the two as best of friends. One is sweet and naive, and the other a ball of fire. Their shows are approximately an hour long, consisting of five tracks. Luna’s repertoire was bouncy, and Matsuri’s more varied (her show’s production value is a lot more varied). They sing covers of tunes composed by other artists, ranging from 40mp to DECO*27, and the emotional value is everything I’d expect from a Urusei Yatsura EDM mix-tape. Notable favourites include Ugoku, Uogoku (Chito & Yuuri), Paprika (Foorin) and U&I (Houkago Tea Time).

We Want to Believe’s Ongoing Search for Bigfoot Mounts in Part Two!

Part Two shows Jason Hewlett talking to other leading Sasquatch hunters, namely paranormal podcaster Shannon LeGro and cryptozoologist Ken Gerhard, about why they are invested and what this creature represents in the various cultures around the Earth. Ken reiterates the ideas from the episode regarding how First Nations people regard him.

We Want to Believe’s Bigfoot Hunt has expanded to four episodes in JoBlo.com’s YouTube channel, The Paranormal Network! Well, in what I was led to believe was that it would be a three-parter, but during the editing process the production team saw they had more to help add to the mystery of what lurks in the forests of British Columbia.

They are not purposely stretching out the content because current health and travel regulations say please stay at home. Regional variants of the COVID-19 virus, like this critter, are creeping in and that’s the last thing anyone wants to be besotted with!

From Art to Music with Millennium Parade’s Debut Album!

This work draws from Japanese folklore, and this supernatural world has modern tonality embedded in the lyrics. The songs take ideas from Hyakki Yagyo – The Night of One Hundred Demons and transform the images, stories and lore from this Asiatic world into evocative melodies that’s both a meditative and a clubbing experience.

Not everyone will know of Millennium Parade, an arts collective from Japan whose music can’t be easily pigeon-holed. They are led by Daiki Tsuneta, frontman of J-Pop band King Gnu, and can be categorized as New Wave or Trip Hop. The debut self-titled album is a fresh exhilarating experience for me, and their sound is similar to but not quite like the sound from the virtual band’s Gorillaz. But anime fans will know them because they’re the composers of the opening song, “Fly with Me” for Netflix’s Ghost in the Shell: SAC 2045.

This work draws from Japanese folklore, and this supernatural world has modern tonality embedded in the lyrics. The songs take ideas from Hyakki Yagyo – The Night of One Hundred Demons and transform the images, stories and lore from this Asiatic world into evocative melodies that’s both a meditative and a clubbing experience. On the cover, a “Tezutsu Hanabi” (the oldest form of Japanese fireworks, encased in bamboo and held by hand) which was traditionally used to protect from evil spirits, and was also used to pray for a good harvest, is held by Ebisu (one of the 7 Gods of Fortune).

We Want to Believe … in Bigfoot!

This latest entry makes this work shine above all other network television attempts since it shows people paying homage like Bigfoot was King Kong.

Believe it or not, JoBlo‘s paranormal investigative program on YouTube, We Want to Believe, is going Bigfoot hunting! This show is, as long-time supporters know, very compact, and I’m very impressed at how well Jason Hewlett‘s introduction touches on the basics and goes further with the legend.

From Patterson–Gimlin’s creature footage from Northern California to its role within Indigenous beliefs where it’s commonly known as the Sasquatch, the gambit is well covered. The latter is important because we rarely think of this beast as a nature spirit. They protect the untamed land from interlopers, namely developers. When feeling threatened, they will throw rocks and emit foul odours to deter humans from coming near.

Part One re-familiarizes newcomers to the lore, including what makes this cryptid unique in Super, Natural British Columbia. We have to focus on what may be out there in the hills of Kelowna because that’s where this show is from. In the next two episodes, more meat will be offered, and all I know is that they obviously survived whatever they faced in them thar hills.

From Annabelle to Chucky to Robert the doll, the producers in the horror film industry loves them! Add a patina to an old figure, and somehow, they just become creepier. I’m ready to walk the other way. As for answering the question if they are truly haunted, I imagine Joblo.com‘s latest instalment of We Want to Believe will get to a solution in part two of the Doll House Investigation, due out in early December.

The episode gets to show Peter Renn talking about his years of investigating one particular manor, Baillie House. The heritage society owns this property and allows groups to come in to document the strange goings on.
