God of Riffs VR Early Access Preview in Review

Just how often new content gets added after God of Riffs is out of beta will define this game’s success in a tough gaming market.

God of Riffs God of Riffs is available to preview on Steam, and it has a long way to go before becoming a playable product in a virtual reality market where there’s at least 30 rhythm-based games in this genre. It’s currently limited to the Oculus Rift, Rift S, and Quest. Strangely, the Quest 2 is not included despite being an update to the prior model. Also, both units can operate standalone. I am surprised a VR ready PC is required when the Quest’s biggest selling point is that it can work standalone.

The early access version shows potential as an optional version of Beat Saber to play. Officially, this highly popular game prefers modern alt-pop over other genres, and without a high-end PC, I can’t access the mods offered by fellow rhythm game enthusiasts (I’m a Apple Macintosh devotee with a PC laptop).

Presenting The Haunted Village in Full & Ashcroft, BC’s Haunted History

We Want to Believe Car Title CardOn the Paranormal Network on YouTube

The second episode of The Haunted Village is here and it fills in the details I’ve mentioned in my first article. Barbara Roden, Mayor of Ashcroft, British Columbia, sums it up with even more information and those reminders of old times are well represented in all the heritage buildings that still stand. One spirit who regularly manifests is dubbed ‘The Dark Haired Man.’ He alerts people to his presence by turning on the water taps, and it’s up to Peter Renn, Jason Hewlett and crew to try and find him.

Everyone Deserves a Chance to Fly in Little Witch Academia VR Broom Racing

This game is about racing on a stick. You’d think UNIVRS would recode to take advantage of the Move controller, but they haven’t.

Little Witch Academia -VR Broom Racing-Available on Steam, PSVR and Oculus.

Little Witch Academia is a long running franchise that’s no doubt inspired by Harry Potter. The manga and animated series debuted in 2013, and the concept behind it is in how amazing the world of magic is. In the muggle world, it’s all but forgotten. However, in the wizarding world, many problems exist and the heroines have to deal with it. The video game that’s spawned is limited to Little Witch Academia: Chamber of Time (2017) and there has been nothing else until UNIVRS created the multi-platform Little Witch Academia: VR Broom Racing. This developer staggered the game’s release on various platforms since late 2020, and the latest is on the Playstation VR.

Pokémon GO 5th Anniversary Weekend In Review & What’s Next?

The anniversary event was all about Meloetta, the musical maestro of the franchise. She is as unique as Vincini–and perhaps Hoopla too. He’s the time lord to meet in the coming weeks, and the build-up on what players must do to catch him is still un-announced.

Pokémon GO's Fifth-Anniversary Event Features Shiny Darumaka and More | Pokemon.comLet’s be realistic, Pokémon GO fever continues because the player base wants those mega candies. The offer of a new pocket monster, namely Meloetta, a new mythical creature, got the music aficionado in me excited and who doesn’t want a Rock Star Pikachu? I prefer to have a punk rock version, but what I really want to see is a stuffed doll to add to my collection. I’ll be keeping my eyes in the official Pokemon Center website.

The weekend’s anniversary event was about offering hordes of pocket monsters–a quarter of them great to use (and grind to power up) in battle league–and a smorgasbord of Legendaries. Players can also finish their Pokedex by seeking out the latter. The day offered a fair balance of paid and unpaid chances to catch those demigods. Those who bought the event ticket also have 18 Raid Pass chances to grab ’em all. That’s a terrific value in price for those gamers who regularly invest in raid passes to battle in them all.

The difference maker is in whether players are staying indoors (dodging the heat or pandemic) or venturing far to find them. I did a bit of both on the two days, and only went home when the sun was really overheating my smartphone.

Atlantis in Pop Culture in Jessica Dwyer’s Mytheries

Dwyer offers a list of the most recognizable adaptations of the Atlantis legend in pop culture since the 70s.

Jessica Dwyer's MytheriesOn The Paranormal Network on YouTube

Atlantis is not the only lost civilization thought to exist. Whether it’s a product of one philosopher’s imagination or not—or was part of an epoch of Earth’s past—this topic always needs many points of view and ongoing debate to find where it may exist. Jessica Dwyer’s latest Mytheries episode on The Paranormal Network nicely explores all the possibilities. Everything that’s covered on the Wiki is also covered here. Her approach, which mixes in academics and pop culture, is ideal for those who are who are curious in where the fictional depictions got their inspirations from.

Keeping up with anthropological digests about the search for the ‘real version’ is tough. Also, there’s little progress since the last big documentary. I’m very interested in the quest and subscribe to Ancient Origins for my updates instead of relying on media reports to get my information.
