Mad Cats is Mad Cap Hiliarity that only Reiki Tsuno Can Realise!

Mad Cats is one heck of a roller coaster ride of an action flick and a laugh out loud road trip movie at the same time.

Mad Cats is more than just another absurdist fantasy, and I rather enjoyed how it brought the Egyptian veneration of felis catus to a Japanese film. Here, a cult of cat-women are hell-bent on taking out a mega corporation. While the motives aren’t entirely clear, I would not question it. Although this micro-budget film didn’t go all out in the makeup department to make this villainous cast look feline, it’s easy to understand why they are completely human. If they don’t totally blend in, then to attack their targets would be a lot more problematic.

This group of warriors serve Bastet. And as for why they’re targeting Japanese pet shop owners is because of Mune Kurosawa (So Yamanaka) ticking off this Egyptian goddess. After locating the seat of her power and finding where she stashes her catnip, he’s caged up for his transgression.

Disney’s Night at the Museum is when Kahmunrah Rises Again! Quick Thoughts Before the Premiere.

Night at the Museum: Kahmunrah Rises Again looks like it will deliver The Mummy 2001 animated series style shenanigans, and that’s enough to win me over!

Night at the Museum: Kahmunrah Rises AgainRelease Date:
Dec 9, 2022 on Disney Plus

Even though the transition of 20th Century Fox’s Night at the Museum franchise to a Disney animated work may sound like a bad idea, I’m rather glad it continues from where the trilogy left off. To say Kahmunrah Rises Again shows this film is picking up from where the second climaxed at. The trailer isn’t saying how it connects with the third movie. Had it have been, we would have Ahkmenrah involved in this narrative more.

From the press release, the people from the house of the mouse believe, “The Original Movie is about the mischief that takes place every night at the American Museum of Natural History when the sun goes down. Nick Daley’s summer gig as night watchman at the museum is a challenging job for a high school student, but he is following in his father’s footsteps and is determined not to let him down. Luckily, he is familiar with the museum’s ancient tablet that brings everything to life when the sun goes down and is happy to see his old friends, including Jedediah, Octavius, and Sacagawea, when he arrives. But when the maniacal ruler Kahmunrah escapes with plans to unlock the Egyptian underworld and free its Army of the Dead, it is up to Nick to stop the demented overlord and save the museum once and for all.”

Aliens are Behind The Blackout Invasion Earth in North America!

I was left asking a lot of questions after Blackout Invasion Earth. Whether the next work examines and answers what War (What is it Good For?) will help bridge the cliffhanger like ending.

Since the dawn of civilization in the Russian-made film, The Blackout, an alien agency manipulated the future of Earth for their own agenda. For the international release, titled Blackout Invasion Earth, the plan is not about conquering but rather preparing how this planet will fall. An opportunity is missed to make this film distinctly Russian. When this country is vast, a few mysteries like where the Volgogard Discs came from or why those people camping on Dyatlov Pass were found dead could have been explained before the action begins.

Main protagonists Alyona (Lukerya Ilyashenko), Olya (Svetlana Ivanova) and Oleg (Aleksey Chadov) learn about the ancient alien agenda when they subdue Eid (Artyom Tkachenko). He claims to “come in peace.” Thankfully, he sides with the humans.

That Ain’t No Mummy Rebirth (2019)

MummyRelease Date: August 13, 2019.
DVD & Digital
Uncork’d Entertainment

When writer Justin Price teams up with director with a wicked name as Khu, good things can come from this pairing wanting to look at the legends of Ancient Egypt. Mummy Rising and Pharaohs (presumedly the sequel currently in production) may well the beginnings of a direct to DVD franchise along the lines of how the Scorpion King continued. My interest in both films simply lays with the undead coming back to life in modern times and doing what they do best: destroy all life.

This Little Light of Mine is on a Free Trip to Egypt

The song, “This Little Light of Mine” is a tent pole to drive home the civil rights sentiment and we hear it throughout the film, Free Trip to Egypt.

I will gladly accept a Free Trip to Egypt. Had I learned about Tarek Mounib‘s mission to reverse the xenophobia and reveal the true side of this country, I’ll be there in an instant! I want to take in the ancient wonders of the world and experience the culture as it is now. People forget that the Egypt we know of today differs from the one from the antiquities. They were occupied by at least five other nations when the pharaonic world was fading. My assumption is that some stayed and became citizens. The creative mind behind this project comes from a blended society. Given how old this country is, the mix of Greco, French, Roman, Nubian, Ottoman, and Arab in some bloodlines is no surprise.

Mounib is a Canadian-Egyptian entrepreneur living in Switzerland. In response to increasing levels of xenophobia and portrayal of the predominately Arab world on broadcast media, he reached out to people who fear his culture. Some reactions are straight out of what one would expect in buying into the (sic WW2 era) propaganda and others with trepidation. With those that he found, five people in total, they got an eye-opening trip.
