Kamen Rider Kuuga. The Glory, The Hope. There’s No Escaping the Past!

Kamen Rider Kuuga is an excellent place to get invested into this franchise. Not only is it the first from this era to get involved in but also there’s higher production value to notice.

Kamen Rider Kuuga is all revved up and ready to soar! With this 10th instalment of the franchise, fans can now watch how different the Heisei era ups the ante. There’s a darker element to this work and I like it! Some say it takes even more cues from American cinema with the villain design, but I feel it keeps some key aspects of what makes tokusatsu special.

That’s because half the threats are familiar. One is an angry man-spider of sorts, and another, a Predator. But for the hero, Yusuke Godai, he’s not feeling too in over his head when he dons the belt to make him the next Kamen Rider! He’s curious about the appearances of two strange emblems (they’re a different kind of logo that reminds me of the Decepticons and Autobots from Transformers) appearing on various artefacts, and to figure out what’s going on means digging around.

From Frightful Predator to Prey, A Comic Book Reader’s Perspective on ther Prequel

In this movie, Naru must prove that in order to avoid becoming the prey, she better be able outsmart her predator!

Prey Movie PosterSpoiler Alert

Anyone who read Dark Horse Comics‘ Predator series (1989-2020) will be familiar with where Prey is headed. The thought of sending one of these hunters to Earth’s distant past is nothing new, and I’ve read enough of this run to know those times where they’ve intruded upon the past, ranging from 1718 to WW1, is often a bloodbath. No matter which civilization they meet, making peace with this alien species is nearly impossible.

In one corner of the confrontation is the said Predator and the other, a Comanche tribe. Caught in the crossfire are French fur traders, and I had to chuckle. The era this tale is set in is sometime during colonisation, and the land is more than a little wild. Its downright dangerous, as viewers will soon discover. Sometimes, these tales involve two differenct factions having to work together to succeed, but when we’re dealing with a franchise dealing with people dying, nobodhy is going to win! Fans must not forget the Predator usually makes situations worse for the heroes. They are often dealing with other threats and to save their own skin is the least of their worries!

Adding the word ‘Behave’ to Corrective Measures

Corrective Measures is a movie that looks at the prison life of supervillains and the thing that they’ll do to plot an escape.

Arcana Studios

Corrective Measures is a movie that looks at the prison life of supervillains. They have a varied range of abilities, and the most feared are the psychic types rather than genetically enhanced. In a world where they were nearly created overnight, to have heroes around who can stop them took time. But humanity persevered and managed to contain them in a questionably maximum strength facility run by The Warden (Michael Rooker).

Four new inmates get put here. Only two seem matters in this narrative: Payback (Dan Payne) is a vigilante of sorts, and he’s not loved by many since he has superior strength. Diego Diaz (Brennan Mejia) advanced abilities won’t help him survive, and just why these are of concern ties into how they can help Julius “The Lobe” Loeb (Bruce Willis) escape. He is this prison’s most dangerous inmate.

Ms. Marvel’s On That Lonely Road of the Gypsy

Ms. Marvel Promotional TV PosterAvailable to View on Disney Plus
Spoiler Alert

How many Marvels exist in the MCU? With the release of Ms. Marvel on Disney Plus, it’s safe to say she’ll join the ranks of even more characters with Marvel as part of their name. That is, we’re expecting Marvel Girl aka Jean Grey to arrive next. But for now, a miniseries about a young Pakistani girl, Kamala Khan (Iman Vellani), having a rough go at life at home and in school.

After the damage wrought in the past MCU films, nowhere is safe. In Jersey City, this youth is just living the typical life of being just another face. Her parents want her safe from this terror and will do anything to protect their little girl. Continue reading “Ms. Marvel’s On That Lonely Road of the Gypsy”

Space Battleship Yamato Movie Marathon Begins This Morning!

Daikaiju TV will begin an 18-hour Space Battleship Yamato movie marathon this morning (starting 7:00am ET), May 28th!

Yamato 2199.jpgDuring the Memorial Day long weekend in the USA, Daikaiju TV has something for anime fans. This streaming network will begin an 18-hour Space Battleship Yamato movie marathon this morning (starting 7:00am ET). It’ll feature nearly every film available! From Space Battleship Yamato (1977) to Odyssey of the Celestial Ark (2014), that’s going to be a lot for fans to enjoy!

The latter and A Voyage to Remember (2014) make up part of the reboot universe, and are compilations of the TV series Space Battleship Yamato 2199.

The crew of the Yamato represent more than the human spirit, and this weekend in America should not just be about one nation. To honour that will be tough for some, but for others, to know that humanity can stand united makes for a stronger message.

And for those who can’t start this Yamato movie marathon this morning, fret not. It will repeat throughout Sunday, with Sunday Night at the Movies starting at a special time. On Monday will be a return to what this streaming network specialises in, a monster marathon feaaturing Godzilla and Gamera’s best films as they save Japan from destruction.

Science Friction versus Science Fiction. Distinguishing Doubtful Facts from Fantasy.

Academics may not want to be interviewed after watching Science Friction, a fascinating and very revealing documentary about how others can get made.

Watch Science Friction | Prime VideoScience Friction is an excellent documentary that examines if that favourite network program on History, Travel Channel or A&E is getting their facts right. Skeptoid Media wants to debunk more than just the supernatural. This work targets all those other specials about archaeology, geology and zoology. Programs like Ancient Aliens and Ghost Adventures are their least of their worries.

Those scholars who’ve appeared in these specials say a lot of what they have expressed is taken out of context. Dr. David S. Anderson, Jonathan Davis, and Dr. Ken Feder are misrepresented. They make up a third of the people interviewed to expound what these shows have gotten wrong. It’s easy for viewers to fact check themselves, but these days, not even Google is safe, unless the information presented is annotated and given a bibliography. In this piece’s case, it’s to have a website to list the credentials of the people they’ve interviewed.
