Ghostbusters Spirits Unleashed Coming Oct 18th

Ghostbusters Spirits Unleashed is a 4v1 hunt and haunt action-packed asymmetrical multiplayer now available for pre-order!

Ghostbusters Spirits Unleashed Key ArtThe Ghostbusters are back in business once again, but this time it’s as a videogame! Although there’s no signs of a virtual reality version, Ghostbusters Spirits Unleashed is a 4v1 hunt and haunt action-packed asymmetrical multiplayer now available for pre-order!  The trailer picks up from where the last movie, Afterlife, left off, with Hudson as the CEO, and it’s terrific we got a narrative to go along with the gameplay.

This product from IllFonic, Inc. will be available come Tuesday, October 18, 2022, on PC via Epic Games Store, PlayStation 4|5, Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One.

From the Press Release

Form a team with up to three other Ghostbusters to track down Ghosts haunting a number of locales. Sniff out paranormal activity with the P.K.E. Meter and charge it to unleash a short-range pulse disabling Ghost movement. Unveil hidden rifts acting as the Ghost’s spawn points and teleportation portals, and destroy them. Use the powerful Particle Throwers to capture the Ghost, deploy a trap, and wrangle them into it before they escape!

Kicking from the Hip with Kung Fu Kickball

KungFu Kickball Videos and Highlights - TwitchWhaleFood Games
Blowfish Studios

Sorry, Carl. Everyone wants to do Kung Fu Kickball, because it’s likely to be fast and fought with expert timing!

This 2D sports platform retro-style fighter features many traditional characters playing ball. From Boxers to Monkey King to Panda and Sifu Masters (to name a few), the look is crazy, and concept engaging. It borrows from many kids anime, especially Dragonball, and how can anyone not want to, in the game, legally knock your opponent down? They’ll stand back up in due time, but in this game, it’s all about ringing the bell to score one for the team.

The music is fun, and the only downside with this game is that while up to four players are supported, there can only be two opposing teams. Even in solo mode, the AI is reasonable enough to let players progress and the game allows you to set the difficulty for the uninitiated.

Atari’s Asteroids is Reloaded and Caught Between A Rock and a Hard Place

Anyone who has played the original Asteroids will find Asteroids Recharged settings for button mashing very unnatural.

Asteroids Recharged

Available for Nintendo Switch, PS4/5 and Xbox

Anyone who has played the original Asteroids will find Asteroids Recharged settings for button mashing very unnatural. That’s because long time players of this game have grown accustomed to pushing buttons to aim and steer the spacecraft to shoot away these rocks in space. Even with the many versions available on the Internet (sometimes called Atari Reloaded), I’m more inclined to load up those takes than to play the official product.

My skill with the original and Atari 2600 lets me get farther. To put this game on a stick is odd. I need my buttons! At least some of them can be assignable through system preferences. But having a reconfigured setup plays better on an arcade fight stick. Also, I’d require a cabinet sized spread than a small one, which I picked up on Amazon to test if my theory is true, and I’ve lasted longer.

More than a Retro Ode to Centipede Recharged

Centipede Recharged is massively updated and locally produced. Vancouver, BC based Adamvision Studios is the brains behind this product

Officially, there aren’t a lot of Atari “Recharged” titles. To my knowledge, there’s Battlezone VR, Tempest 4K, Missile Command and now Centipede. There’s a few unofficial updates and they don’t hold a candle to the classics unless the company is involved. There is Asteroids, and I’m still searching for a modern remake of Frogger, Pong, Pole Position and Breakout.

Centipede Recharged is available for the Atari VCS, Nintendo Switch, Steam (PC), Xbox Series X/S, Epic and PS4/5. Aside from blasting apart bugs and ranking up the global leaderboard, this highly addictive game will keep players shooting, bug wranglers cackling and game players shaking a fist at those scorpions. The fleas rain down the screen like they are part of The Matrix far more often when players last longer than ten minutes.
