Netflix is Preparing for Geeked Week!

Netflix has a live event for Geeked Week and it will take place in Atlanta, Georgia.

Netflix Geeked Week 2024Watch Live on YouTube, Twitch and X on Sept. 19 at 5pm PT/ 8pm ET

These days, Netflix is the go to place for a lot of geeky content. When they’re bringing back a lot of fond properties along with cultivating new takes on others, I’m always there. After Terminator Zero (review coming soon), I’m certainly hooked! Last week, they posted a trailer for its upcoming Geeked Week celebration and while what I’m anxious for seems not necessarily there, that may be because I was multitasking at the time and missed that clip. Or rather, when will Netflix Canada do something to negotiate with CTV to get Star Trek: Prodigy on air?

This year kicks off on September 16 and culminates with Geeked Week Live, an in-person fan event at 8 pm ET on September 19 in Atlanta. Expect sneak peeks, news and surprises from titles including Squid Game, Arcane, One Piece, Avatar: The Last Airbender, Don’t Move, Wednesday, Cobra Kai, Monument Valley 3, Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft, Devil May Cry and more. Visit GeekedWeek.com to get tickets now.

Geeked Hall of Fandom Awards to Celebrate the Biggest Fans

This year, for the first time, the best fans (as voted by other fans) will be inducted into a permanent Geeked Hall of Fandom as a testament to their amazing cosplay, art, crafts and creations around Netflix Geeked titles. The fans with the most votes will be honored on stage during Geeked Week Live and presented by Netflix talent with a custom award. Voting begins September 9 on GeekedWeek.com.

Get in on the Fun with Geeked Week Activations

The week-long celebration will also include special experiences like Geeks Who Drink trivia on September 16, Atlanta-area events like Geeked Ink with creator-collab Netflix-inspired tattoos on September 18 from 11-7 pm ET at Apocalypse Tattoo in Buckhead, a Twilight of the Gods fan screening with co-creator and executive producer Zack Snyder on September 18, and event attendees can also visit the Netflix Has Games lounge to play the latest games.

An Overview on Star Trek Prodigy Season Two and Where To Find It

Star Trek Prodigy Season 2Unfortunately, the only way to watch Star Trek Prodigy Season 2 in certain countries is through a VPN. Even three months later, I’m still not finding it on regular broadcast channels, and I’m stuck waiting for the eventual home video release, which is November 12 (according to Inverse.com). Because of agreements with certain broadcasters in Canada and other territories, Netflix cannot provide. The following list of recognized outlets will eventually broadcast this highly anticipated run, but even then, they may not be released in one fell swoop.

  • Canada: CTV.ca and the CTV App.
  • France: France Télévisions Channel and Okoo.
  • Iceland: Sjonvarp Simans Premium.
  • The Nordics, the Netherlands, Portugal, Spain, Central and Eastern Europe: SkyShowtime.

I’m thankful for my VPN service to help me see this series on Netflix. What’s presented is the best animated Star Trek to date! It picks up a few days after the events of the last season, where Dal (Brett Gray) and his ragtag crew are now studying at Starfleet Academy. But pretty soon, Admiral Janeway (Kate Mulgrew) gives them a chance to train on board a new Voyager class starship! Although she has another agenda, none of the cadets are the wiser save for Dal. The Doctor (Robert Picardo) lets slip another shuttle bay and his decision to investigate leads him to discover what this training cruise is about! Pretty soon, he gets his former crew to join!

In Time Patrol Bon The Future Isn’t Written Back to the Future Style

Although Ream Stream is a hokey name for the heroine in Time Patrol Bon, she’s a better “Doctor Who” type of character than the current one on Disney Plus/BBC.

Time Patrol Bon Publicity StillPart Two Will Be Available on July 17, 2024 on Netflix

Time Patrol Bon is a fairly faithful look at various legends and unsolved mysteries from around the world. Whether that is concerning a moment of history, part of mythology or a missing person, just how Bon Namihira (Akihisa Wakayama and Griffin Burns in the dub) gets involved is because he’s seen things which can put his timeline in peril.

As a result, a young time lord is watching him and has recruited him into the agency she works for. They monitor anomalies that can disrupt history. In some ways, what’s presented is like early episodes of the Irwin Allen series, Time Tunnel. And for spicing it up for fans of Marvel’s Loki to enjoy, there are some shared aspects I liked.

Where’s The New Attitude with Beverly Hills Cop Axel F?

Beverly Hills Cop Axel F isn’t always focussed on the nostalgia, and that’s a good thing since the story takes place nearly 30 years later.

Beverly Hills Cop Axel F Movie PosterAvailable to Stream on Netflix
Spoiler Alert

One of the most beloved franchises from the 80s is Beverly Hills Cop. I believe that’s because of the music. To bring it back decades later had me asking why. While part of the reason is attributed to Eddie Murphy enjoying a comeback after the success of Dolemite Is My Name, there may be another reason. Last year’s Candy Cane Lane is forgettable, I’ll still think of him as the irrepressible Donkey from the Shrek films more than anything else. As for the character that made him the superstar, to title the continuation Beverly Hills Cop Axel F says it all.

Although I was half expecting to hear new music, the new song remixes works just as well. Sadly, this fourth instalment forgets Patti Labelle’s “Stir It Up.” I can listen to that song all day. But as for this film, it doesn’t really focus on the beloved element that made the early two films (the third wasn’t that good) memorable. It’s the camaraderie the trio–Foley (Murphy), Rosewood (Judge Reinhold) and Taggert (John Ashton)–had together that made this franchise special.

When Jurassic World Chaos Theory Proves The Fact That People Should Not Remain Apart…

Jurassic World Chaos TheoryIn Jurassic World Chaos Theory, the kids have grown up, and they’re using some of those experiences to deal with the latest hurdle. And that’s to deal with rogue dinosaurs roaming North America! Although I’m still trying to figure out how this title fits even on my fourth binge-watch, some facts are certain: they’re matured and some are taking the fight to a whole new level.

What I love is that a few answers regarding how this team managed to cope in the past are provided in simply one-liners. Although six years have passed, it seems only one of them still suffers from PTSD. But to see that a few went to work with the Department of Prehistoric Wildlife (DPW) is a head scratcher. I would’ve thought they’d want a normal life. Darius (Paul-Mikél Williams) is a dinosaur whisperer, but he left after a wPaul-Mikél Williams, Kiersten Kelly, Sean Giambrone, Raini Rodriguez, Darren Barnet, Kausar Mohammedhile, for some undisclosed reason.
