This collection brings together all the comic strips that were previously made available only to subscribers of the Edgar Rice Burroughs website into a hardcover edition that readers can enjoy. Fans can thank Dark Horse Comics for publishing this release!

This collection will present the tales, as seen in Sunday newspaper strip landscape format, in a format that should respect how they were initially release. These adaptations of Edgar Rice Burroughs’ classic tales are scripted by comics legend Roy Thomas (Conan the Barbarian, Avengers, Tarzan: The New Adventures) and illustrated by Pablo Marcos (Savage Sword of ConanStar Trek: The Next GenerationCreepy).

Revealing the origin of the Jungle Lord and his earliest adventures, Tarzan of the Apes is a must for every Tarzan collection!

Tarzan of the Apes Volume 1 will be in comic shops August 24 followed by bookstores on September 6 and will soon be available to preorder at your local comic shop and bookstore. The Amazon listing is forthcoming.

Finding Xerxes and The Fall of the House of Darius Unleashed …

On March 6th, Dark Horse Comics unleashed Xerxes to the masses recounting The Fall of the House of Darius and the Rise of Alexander. To say which leader is more ruthless is a moot question. In reading this collected hardcover edition instead of the individual issues, I found the story much easier to follow. I knew I should wait for the compendium but still visited my local comic book store to read as much of the work as it was still being released.

If only Frank Miller was attending Emerald City Comic Con (takes place starting tomorrow till March 17th), I would get this compendium signed too!

The Art of How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World, Advance orders available!

Fans can have The Art of How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World arrive at their home days after seeing the movie. This work is being offered at outlets like Amazon months in advance, and anticipation is high for the film which will cap off the series. This hardcover book promises to feature exclusive commentary and never-before-seen art from the creation of DreamWorks Animation‘s upcoming movie, set to arrive in theatres March 1, 2019. It will no doubt complement the previous tomes, as writers  Linda Sunshine and illustrator Iain Morris are listed as the principal team who are putting together this work for Dark Horse Comics.

This 184-page book will hit shelves on March 5, 2019, and will offer plenty of original art from the studio detailing from proof of concept to final product. Director Dean DeBlois will offer added commentary, and we at Otakunoculture.com will report previews as it becomes available.
