How Atari can Recharge Itself in 2022

Hopefully, Atari Inc. has plans for more Recharged video games

Battlezone (1980 video game) - WikipediaHopefully, Atari Inc. has plans for more Recharged video games. Last year’s releases by software developors Adamvision and Sneakybox Studios had a nice theme going with Centipede and Black Widow before going to space. The last title was Asteroids Recharged. In what I hope to see coming up are even more adaptations of their classic vector-based games like:

Battlezone

This version is a no-brainer for the simple reason most modern controllers have two sticks built in. It makes players feel like they’re in the tank, and they can slowly navigate their way in a landscape populated by the enemy.

I’ve played Battlezone Gold (released 2018) and VR (2016) enough times to know they are graphically richer experiences, but sometimes all I want is the basics. There’s just something to that old vector style look which has me feel like I’m navigating an old vehicle. I also think it’d be cool to use those power-ups from the previous games imagined from a fresh new first person perspective.

Pandemics, Fan Expo Vancouver and Capital City Comic Con 2022

FAN EXPO VANCOUVER - Festivals - 999 Canada Pl, Vancouver, BC - Phone Number - YelpAs we enter year three of the pandemic, it‘s safe to say no pop culture convention is expected to run at full capacity. Despite reports of other big events–namely Fan Expo Portland–cancelling for this region, the organizers behind two of British Columbia’s events (Fan Expo Vancouver and Capital City Comic Con) are still listed as taking place in February and March. They are most likely going to operate at half capacity in accordinace to health guidelines.

Some events have to sally forth otherwise bankruptcy has to be declared. Contracts were signed, and not many have a Impossibility Clause. That is, the government has to directly intervene to say this event cannot continue and there’d be no breach of contract.

It’s expected that attendees will have to wear masks throughout and show proof of being vaccinated.

LEGO Ninjago and Where to Find The Latest

In the meantime, I’ve been doing a lot of rewatching to see if I can find further clues about where the next season may go.

The_Island_poster_FIXEDEntire Series Available on Netflix

Anyone wondering where to find the latest LEGO Ninjago episodes will have to check Netflix instead of local network times. “The Island” and “Seabound” were once upon a time considered the same season, but changes have been made. According to the fan updated Wiki, the former is considered a miniseries and latter an official season. Niek van Slagmaat revealed on Twitter, “After the specialised launches like Prime Empire and Seabound, the markets asked for a wave with the classic Ninjago identity. We would not get any story continuing content in order to make sure we could get started on 2HY 2022 as early as possible. Thus, Core was born.”

The first two episodes have been released, and can be found on YouTube here.

Afterthoughts on Ghostbusters Afterlife

Not everyone from the original films returned to appear in Ghostbusters: Afterlife. One is Louis Tully (Rick Moranis) and the other is the titular Slimer.

Heavy Spoiler Alert

Not everyone from the original films returned to appear in Ghostbusters Afterlife. Two characters we didn’t get to see Louis Tully (Rick Moranis) and the other is the titular Slimer. The former is understandable as the actor retired a long time ago, to take care of his kids when his wife sadly passed. Though they’re older now, and Moranis has done a few voice-over roles, to convince him to appear on screen requires more than being friends with Ryan Reynolds or what Sony / Columbia Pictures can offer.

Regarding why he declined to appear in the 2016 film, “I hope it’s terrific. But it just makes no sense to me. Why would I do just one day of shooting on something I did 30 years ago?” he said to The Hollywood Reporter in 2015. His reasoning can apply to this 2020/21 film (delayed due to the pandemic).

John Cena is Headed to ECCC2021!

Let’s just hope he’s ready to face the greatest challenge many similar events are facing, is having massive indoor events a good idea while the world is still in the midst of a pandemic?

John Cena "super sad" about Dave Bautista distancing himself from WWEAppearing Dec 4th, 2021
Emerald City Comic Con (Dec 2-5)

From World Wrestling Entertainment’s ring to cinema’s silver screen, John Cena certainly made an impact. He follows after a small line of “athletes” turned actors who’s developing a splendid career in the latter. This veteran of crazy dramatics certainly shows he has the chops for good-hearted family films like Daddy’s Home to action-star material with Suicide Squad. In December, he’ll be making a one-day appearance at Emerald City Comic Con! Let’s just hope he’s ready to face the greatest challenge many similar events are facing, is having massive indoor events a good idea while the world is still in the midst of a pandemic?

Star Wars: The Bad Batch in Review & Commentary

Although the wait will be long for the next season, I’m finding The Bad Batch is essential watching for any Star Wars fan.

STAR WARS: THE BAD BATCHThe Bad Batch finished its first season run, and I’m still wondering when and if Hera Syndulla and Kanan Jarrus will meet. Technically, part of the runaway Jedi’s journey was covered in the comic book series published by Marvel Comics and written by Greg Weisman. I doubt the two-parter with Hera can be left just like that, with her and us knowing she’ll become a resistance fighter. As for getting cameos from past fond favourites, like Ashoka, I feel that’s not the direction Dave Filoni is aiming for.

What this season represents is in how various civilizations are not pleased at the fact The Republic has fallen and the Empire is taking over. Democracy has fallen.
