Breaking down the Next Stage of Dragons: Defenders of Berk

How Defenders of Berk will continue will be interesting since the team will have to learn more about how to function as a unit.

Dragons_defenders_of_berk_poster_1A sure sign that the How to Train Your Dragon series has entered the mainstream consciousness is when it starts to allude to well known movies in pop culture. In this case, the premiere episode of Dragons: Defenders of Berk, refers to the Dragon Training Academy as a secret Flight than Fight Club. That’s because, in the wake of the previous season’s finale where Alvin and the Outcasts finally learn the secret of how to train the dragons they captured, Hiccup’s team has been banned from patrolling the isle of Berk.

Stoick, Hiccup’s father, is afraid that the youths are in over their heads with what’s coming.

The citizens of Berk will face invasion by Alvin’s tribe. It is coming. Hiccup, Astrid, Fishlegs, Snotlout, Tuff and Ruff think they can handle it, but Stoick does not. He thinks they do not have the skills as fully trained warriors. They have to know how to fight.

Miss Piggy to Join Smithsonian Exhibit

MissPiggyMiss Piggy will be taking her rightful place in the Smithsonian Institution’s Jim Henson Muppets collection, alongside her sweetheart Kermit the Frog.

Piggy will be among more than 20 puppets and props being donated by Cheryl Henson, Jim Henson’s daughter. Among the Muppets finding permanent homes at the Smithsonian will be Bert and Ernie from Sesame Street, the Swedish Chef from The Muppet Show and Boober Fraggle and Uncle Traveling Matt from Fraggle Rock.

Galacticon 4 in Seattle!

It’s been officially announced that Galacticon 4 will land in the beautiful northwest city of Seattle for the dates July 31 – August 2, 2015!

The venue of choice is the Seattle Center and it seems appropriate enough. The Seattle Center was at one time host to the 1964 World’s Fair. Venues included in the center although not limited to are the Space Needle, EMP Museum and the Pacific Science Center.

Potter Summer Home To be Preserved

Beatrix Potter The Tale of Peter Rabbit

The house and grounds which is said to have inspired beloved British author Beatrix Potter to write The Tales of Peter Rabbit have been given Grade II listed status by the British Government.

‘Lingholm’ and it’s grounds in Portinscale, Cumbria will now be preserved. The Grade II listed status means “being of special architectural or historic interest” and will be protected against “unauthorised demolition, alteration or extension.”

Weighing in on Nintendo’s Latest Two Dimensional Offering

At least with the consoles that are out there, Mario, Luigi, Donkey Kong, Zelda and Link show that they can be enjoyed on any gaming device Nintendo is selling.

super_mario__nintendo_1280x960Nintendo enthusiasts now have a menu of portable hardware options to choose from: they can go 2D, 3D or XL. Each unit has their pros and cons, but as for whether or not their newest unit, the 2DS, will fly hinges on the upcoming Christmas shopping season.

The unit is essentially a stripped down version of the 3DS. The third dimension is being tossed out the door since medical experts are saying that can hinder the development of young eyes. But the big question is if the MSRP of $129.99 the right price? Maybe, in a nearly tax-free shopping zone of Alberta (Oregon for American shoppers) or a weekend when sales tax isn’t applied to purchases. Within Canada, the electronics tax may well be a hindrance than a god-send in select regions that have implemented this measure to deal with electronic waste.

September is Going To Be A Busy Dragons Month for How to Train Your Dragon Fans!

In the new season, DreamWorks Dragons: Defenders of Berk , Hiccup (Jay Baruchel) and his dragon Toothless lead the way as the gang graduates from experienced riders to confident defenders.

Dragons Defenders of Berk on Cartoon Network PosterSo just when is the next season going to begin for the How To Train Your Dragon television series? Dragons: Defenders of Berk, as its now called, will begin Sept. 19 at 7:30 p.m. (ET, PT) on Cartoon Network.

Toys have been trickling into the toy stores and the excitement for what’s coming will definitely build to the release of the second movie, due in theatres June 13th, 2014. With that in mind, Alvin the Treacherous and Mildew will no doubt pair up to cause problems for everyone living on Berk. Quite a bit of fuss has been built upon to show how useless Mildew seems to be, but when he turned trecherous, the tale is as exciting as the books originally penned by Cressida Cowell.

Even the next book in the fictional universe, How to Betray a Dragon’s Hero, is expected to be released in the UK the very same month. The North American release is expected to follow a month later.
