Spin Master Releases more Dragons, Chibi-Style!

In time, the rest can be found or toy collectors can scour the Internet and pay collector’s price for Spin Master toys latest HTTYD figures.

IMG_0076- smallThe next wave of Spin Master’s Dragons: Defenders of Berk toys are here, and some of them look terrific for any How to Train Your Dragon fan to put on his or her shelf. Just like the original release, the same points of articulation can be found. That’s mostly with the neck joint so the head is poseable and there is limited bendability for the wings and tails.

Three more three-inch figures spotlighting these serpentine creatures are given the cute treatment and they are Thornado, Hookfang, and Belch & Barf. Also included in this new round is a Toothless variant with an appropriately painted on brown leather tail over the mold.

Na na na na na na … Batman! And Robin of Course!

batmanfigures1Holy posable! Fans of the 60’s series must take a look at the figures of the dynamic duo from Hot Toys.

These figures of Batman and Robin are modeled after the 1966 Batman movie (rather than the series) and they come with nifty accessories.

The figures are crafted in 1/6th scale and have 30 points of articulation. Batman is approximately 30cm tall while Robin is 28cm.

They are expected to ship in Q2-Q3, 2014. They carry a hefty price tag  but I must say that the look of the figures themselves are incredible. I’m not a toy collector to the extent that others are, but I may change my mind on these two. Maybe I’ll even acquire a museum-quality glass display case just for these figures as the start of a small collection.

LEGO Ghostbusters? Oh Yes, Brick it on!

An anniversary LEGO Ghostbusters set is one step closer to realisation.

thumb640x360-2More than 8,000 supporters have made their voices heard on LEGO Cuusoo, and an unofficial number of 10,000 has made the LEGO company consider manufacturing a LEGO Ghostbusters 30th anniversary set.

The entire team of Peter Venkman, Ray Stantz, Egon Spengler, Winston Zeddemore and Slimer will get recreated in LEGO. The Ecto-1 and Firehouse will be the centerpiece and … waitaminute, where’s Janine? She’s just as important too, and let’s hope she is not forgotten.

On the CuuSoo page, LEGO stated: “Ghostbusters fans around the world have shown that they want to see a commemorative LEGO set and you’ve now reached the milestone where we will evaluate the potential of creating a set based on your proposal.

“We’ll build concept models and determine if the concept meets our high standards for what it takes to be a LEGO product. This includes factors such as playability, safety, and fit with the LEGO brand. Every potential LEGO product goes through a process like this and must meet the same standards.”
