With Disney’s Star Wars (no, not Lucasfilm) coming to a theatre next year, fans can be reinvigorated for what the future may hold for this franchise. But until then, let this date be a reminder to all.

In How to Train Your Dragon 2, Stoick the Vast is getting a new dragon. Unless the Thunderdrum has evolved and changed shape, whatever type of beast the Leader of Berk is getting bears some semblance to a Triceratops.
As for how Thornado will feel towards his former rider, that’s unlikely to happen since the movie has yet to indicate if any lessons learned from Dragons: Defenders of Berk will be important in the film. Instead, what this movie will do is to take place a few years after and probably not acknowledge the friends or other clans met from the television series. Some fans may desire the return of Heather but that’s unlikely to happen.
With approximately a month and a half before this film’s release on June 13th, fans will no doubt be anxious to see what merchandise will follow. Poster collectors, however, will have a tough time tracking down the now nine posters. Hopefully Dreamworks or 20th Century Fox will be nice and offer prints or copies of them available for sale for fans to purchase when not every theater will give them out to the die-hard fans.

If the first IMAX 12:01 Amazing Spider-Man poster looked good, then the Fanfix version that will soon be distributed is going to be spectacular! Inspired by the trends that feature film intros have been making lately — to have film credits in the opening sequence blend with the background or become part of the camera shot and disappear as it pans — then this new exclusive for movie-goers going to the very first IMAX screening is certainly going to be a treat.

The last two weeks have been very busy for the cast and crew of Gracepoint. The production team reported that two episodes are “done,” and as for what that means next is probably showing it to producers for fine tuning the edit before the show gets broadcasted at the end of the year. And locals will no doubt have fun finding out that nearly most of the city Victoria and its outlying regions (Island View Park in Saanich, a church in North Saanich and bits from the town of Sidney) is going to make up the landscape of the North Californian town of Gracepoint. To see how Fernwood will get stitched in will be fascinating, as this community has its own unique charm of being rustic much like how Oak Bay is.
The middle of last week saw Kevin Zegers and Jack Irvine perform some daytime scenes near Fernwood Square, home to the Cornerstone Cafe, the Belfry Theatre and Stir It Up (my favourite place to hit for Caribbean food).

Kevin Zegers quite literally stole the limelight from David Tennant on Monday night’s filming of Gracepoint. As night-time was approaching and this series main stars arriving on set, Mr. Zegers got to show off his character’s all-American charm while waiting for the production team to set up. And people who were across the street hoping to catch glimpses of tonight’s shooting saw him enjoy his time while waiting.

![[Langford, BC] Dan Aykroyd is not just about the Blues ... 6 IMG_2717- small](https://i0.wp.com/otakunoculture.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/03/img_2717-small.jpg?resize=490%2C275)
Dan Aykroyd was in Langford, BC for a dual purpose — to promote his Crystal Head Vodka and to help raise awareness of and money (to which even I donated to) for a young Langford teen, Zach Downey, fighting non-Hodgkins lymphoma. This actor led a motorcycle ride on a 2014 Harley-Davidson Street Glide through the area before arriving at Liquor Planet. People who bought the 50th Anniversary Rolling Stones Gift Pack with the Crystal Head Vodka had the opportunity to get it signed along with any other goods they brought along.
