Ace Frehley Tribute: On Why There Will Only Be One Space Ace

Ace Frehley was more than the Spaceman of KISS — he was the soul of the sound, the spark behind the mask. His legacy isn’t just in riffs or records; it’s in the cosmic joy of being unapologetically real. There will only ever be one Space Ace.

KISS Ace Frehley ClassicA star has faded from the skies—or as Ace Frehley might have said, “I’m one with them now.” The legendary guitarist has passed away, his soul joining the great cosmic harmony he always seemed to channel. After suffering a serious fall and being hospitalised, reports remain vague about the timeline, but the damage was deeper than anyone realised. The fact that he was still playing right to the end says everything about who he was.

Surrounded by family, he took his final bow the same way he lived—on his own terms. Although they made the call to pull the plug, he probably was conscious enough to approve. Back when KISS were in their prime, Frehley was the band’s lead guitarist—the cosmic spark that gave their spectacle its soul. That customised Les Paul didn’t just smoke; it howled. Others could wear the makeup, mimic the riffs, even reproduce his solos, but none could replicate the electricity that made him the Spaceman. And his influence resonates with today’s guitarists on stage. He earned the moniker both on and off the stage—a mix of cosmic dreamer and Bronx charm that no one else could quite pull off.

The Promise and Pitfall of Augmented Reality Games: Why Jedi Challenges Sits on the Shelf

Jedi Challenges promised a galaxy far, far away in your living room. A month of lightsabers later, the thrill faded—and so did the headset. There are not a lot of augmented reality games still around. Without updates, community, or real-world hooks, it’s still a tech spectacle stuck on the shelf.

Augmented Reality GamesThe Allure of Immersion

Not everyone wants to play augmented reality games. You can’t interact with a digital environment without strapping on a headset or waving a device around to reveal what’s there. On paper, these experiences promise to blur our physical and digital lives into one seamless reality. In practice? They’ve delivered dazzling moments—Gorillaz’s virtual concerts and Hololive’s worldwide VTuber frenzy—but more often than not, they feel like flashy sideshows rather than daily habits.

At its core, AR overlays digital visuals onto the real world.

Pop culture has long imagined it in bigger, bolder ways. Back to the Future II had Marty McFly nearly leap out of his skin when a 3D Jaws lunged from a theatre marquee. Star Trek: The Next Generation gave us the holodeck, where you could wander inside the illusion and feel every detail. That’s the kind of immersion people crave—the kind that doesn’t remind you that you’re holding a phone like a glorified window.

Two of South Korea’s Hottest Kpop Acts Will Stream as Video Concerts on Well GO USA’s Network

Two huge kpop video concerts are coming to digital this week! After watching demon hunters, some newcomers may well want to visit the real deal!

well go usaAfter watching Kpop Demon Hunters (movie review link), I had to revisit this scene to look at today’s hottest acts. While what’s presented is a fairly good look under a global lens, but I wanted songs that are more rooted rather than be another broadway musical. This week, Well GO USA will soon deliver video concerts Taeyong: Ty Track In Cinemas and Aespa: World Tour In Cinemas. Both are today’s biggest stars in South Korea. The former loves to rap, and the latter helped popularize hyper-pop.

Lee Tae-yong (이태용) is a singer, songwriter, and dancer. As the lead of NCT, a boy band managed by SM Entertainment, his fame grew as moved up the ranks. Record labels create and manage most of these bands; as for how they discover talents is almost like living that Hollywood dream of yesteryears. SM Entertainment trained Taeyong in their rookie project, and they selected him to be today’s face of this group because of his charisma and leadership. When considering how this film presentation opens with him talking about where he came from, this rags-to-riches story is a lot more engaging than the concert itself!

Who’s Ready For The Blues Brothers? The Escape of Joliet Jake Marks A New (and Old?) Chapter for the Franchise!

Although The Blues Brothers is mostly a cover band, just what they represent is much more than to bring that Chicago Blues sound to the masses. Their passion and need to connect with the genre’s essence must be honoured in this upcoming graphic novel, The Escape of Joliet Jake.

The Blues Brothers: The Escape of Joliet Jake
Available to preorder on Amazon USA

Release Date: Oct 2025

The beloved Blues Brothers whom two generations have grown up with are not gone. Instead, there are plans to bring this franchise back to the fore with “forays into television, film, live events, music and much more,” according to one press release. Everything begins with the graphic novel release of The Blues Brothers: The Escape of Joliet Jake. While Dan Aykroyd will not be performing at every stop (he is getting on in age so he’s most likely not going to be as intense on stage), his presence will mean everything why his daughter is taking charge of continuing on!

All I can think of is the attempt with Blues Brothers 2000. This movie pays tribute to the first film and shows how the music changes style from one side of the country to the other. And it also reveals that to be a brother means you just have to embrace the music, and that’s all anyone needs to chase the blahs away.

To kick things off will be this graphic novel from Z2 Comics. It’s written by Stella Aykroyd, Luke Pisano and James Werner with artist Felipe Sobriero.

Free Comic Book Day is Almost Here! Top Picks of the 2025 Season.

When Free Comic Book Days offers to folks, the best in what pop culture represents, it’s safe to say which franchises have lasting power as long as those IPs stay consistent.

Free Comic Book DayFree Comic Book Day is almost here! And in 2025, the selection has only gotten more diverse to include anime style offerings. That is, Tamashii Nations and Gunpla have teamed up to put together an exclusive Mobile Suit Gundam Wing bonus comic. Not every retailer will offer this, so it’s best to hunt around in your local city to locate who has this or not.

Besides this title, the other works I’m excited about are the following. I will include notes where possible as I received previews of Mad Cave Studios release to whet my appetite for picking up the print edition. Instead of Gatchaman, this time they’re expanding their selection of nostalgia classics to include Speed Racer! There’s another title, but please read on to find out.
