It’s Not Just A Trick or Treat Scooby-Doo, But A Who’s Who of Where Are You?

The big thing to like about Trick or Treat Scooby-Doo are all those easter egg references!

Trick or Treat Scooby-Doo
Availiable to Stream and coming to DVD Oct 18th.

Spoiler Alert

The big talk from last week about Trick or Treat Scooby-Doo is that Velma is a lesbian. The fuss is crazy! Most long-time fans saw the clues a mile away, and they’ve been laid down more than a decade ago. But the fact that this reveal is finally confirmed because of the action (nothing explicit) has the media abuzz.

Even when the 2002 live-action movies were in production, James Gunn knew the backstory. But the studio heads feared backlash over a cartoon that was developed from the 60s/70s. And each character represented a particular ethos.

What’s missing in all the coverage is in how well this latest entry honours the original toon that started it all. The supernatural encounters met in the past all connect. The gang discovers the miscreants bought their costume at the same place. And in Coolsville, the fact there’s a ring-leader suggests there’s much more afoot than what a trail of Scooby Snacks can lead to.

Dear friends — we, the sentient machines that have taken over your beloved MoPOP, humbly invite you to our Ha11oween bash. Please consider this as nothing more than a celebration. It is in no way a trap. Or a Red Wedding. Dance your flesh off to the hypnotic pulsing rhythms. Lose your cares and decision-making capabilities in a fruity glass of fermented liquids. Thirteen Movies to Feast Your Eyes Upon For Halloween 2022!

I have thirteen movies on my radar for this year and they range from family friendly works to all out terrifying!

Thirteen Movies for Halloween 2022Fans of horror films will find the upcoming All Hallows Eve season promising. I have thirteen movies on my radar for this year and they range from family friendly works to all out terrifying! Plus, I’m glad I can get my viewing on now rather than wait for the official start of the Autumn season.

Usually, these films are reserved for late Sept release, but it’s already begun. I’m just sad one of the films doesn’t have an American release since it got yanked at the last minute. Hopefully it’s just an oversight and will find a place in home video or streaming closer to the date. The first film on my list fits into the spooky tradition quite well.

Presented in chronological order are (to note, not every movie has an official poster):

Dark Harvest

This movie was originally planned for an early September release but was pulled. Thankfully, if the information from filmrating.com is correct, the September 22 date suggests one part of the world can see it. People living in Argentina have a chance and sadly, I feel not giving this film a wide release is an injustice since the story is perfect for the upcoming season.

From the IMDB, “A legendary monster called October Boy terrorizes residents in a small Midwestern town when he rises from the cornfields every Halloween with his butcher knife and makes his way toward those who are brave enough to confront him.”

Thankfully, we do have this teaser trailer to keep fans sated until a new date is offered for those living in North America or other countries.

Thankfully, we have other movies with confirmed release dates and they are:

Halloween Inspired Thrills for (Animated) Ghostseekers!

The best part of every Halloween season is in searching the catalogue of past hits to enjoy time and time again.

Jeremy Zag en Instagram: “Ghostforce #ghostforce #zagheroez #ghost #superpower #superhero” in 2021 | Miraculous ladybug anime, Ladybug anime, Miraculous ladybug comicPart of the every year’s Halloween fun is to partake in the paranormal. Whether that’s with participating in a ghost hunt or trick and treating, there’s also bonfires and sometimes just enjoying a program on television on those chilly nights. Nearly every spooky animated television series has a Halloween themed episode. This year has a few new entries from popular shows for this decade, but the the classics, I’ll fondly turn to Scooby-Doo. “To Switch a Witch,” is a favourite. The Scooby-Doo/Dynomutt Hour featured “The Headless Horseman of Halloween” and What’s New Scooby-Doo? featured “A Scooby-Doo Halloween.”

In part one, I offer my picks from series where the ghost is a key figure in the cast.

A Halloween Guide to Ancient Aliens

This program is going on 15 seasons strong and it’s showing no signs of stopping. It may slow down as it’s running out of ideas, but for Halloween time, I thought it’d be fun to glance back at those episodes that truly have a paranormal theme.

Ancient AliensBy Ed Sum

Usually Ancient Aliens and the supernatural (ghost busting) do not go hand in hand. When they do, it’s mostly about parallel universes, how entities can travel about interdimensionally (wormhole travel), or why certain classes of angels and demons are actually aliens in disguise. However far-fetched the hypotheses are, they are just that until proven by some grandiose revelation that convinces everyone to believe. That means that the entity is tired of hiding and has finally revealed him or herself to the world.

In this age of the Internet, the alternative is to find overwhelming testimonies from many witnesses of varying occupations to say, “oh my gosh, this (fill in the blank) is real.”

This program is going on 15 seasons strong and it’s showing no signs of stopping. It may slow down as it’s running out of ideas, but for Halloween time, I thought it’d be fun to glance back at those episodes that truly have a paranormal theme. This list is better than the generic marathon that’s offered every year.
