When Coping With Loss, Ghost Cat Anzu is Here to Save the Day!

Although available on digital last month, the movie Ghost Cat Anzu is finally available on home video. That way, this feline won’t get away at all, since he’s like a welcome member of the family. There’s no added features in this release, and that’s just fine.

Ghost Cat Anzu is a rather strange spirit, and he’s ready to manifest for folks who want a little help in their lives! With the home video release, fans can hit the pause button if they want to compare this cinematic adaptation with the manga. When the print edition is ongoing, that need find out what he’s been up to since has my curiousity maxed out! I’m sure to read about what else this bakeneko is up to won’t kill me.

People adore this big giant cat (voiced by Mirai Moriyama) because he’s like Norm from Cheers. In the dub, Jason Simon sounds like George Wendt too! Everyone in the town knows his name. And when he acts more like a human than that of an oversized feline, I suspect there’s more to him than meets the eye. Although he’s a little rough around the edges, that’s okay.

All Things Avatar The Last Airbender Related That’s Coming in 2025/2026

Here, we reveal everything you want to know about what’s happening this year for Avatar the Last Airbender. This article covers everything revealed at Fan Expo Vancouver, along with announcements from Dark Horse Comics and the studio.

Avatar the Last Airbender Omnibus Regular Edition
Softcover edition available to order on Amazon USA

While fans of Avatar are eagerly waiting for the animated movie to release in 2026, the adventures that have taken place as published by Dark Horse Comics are getting a proper Avatar: The Last Airbender Omnibus collection! I’ve been collecting these comics as they came out, and they feel like a perfect continuation. This ought to be enough to sate eager fans following the news of the television series, Avatar: Seven Havens, which is a continuation of the franchise. The summary is as follows (from Variety):

Per the official logline, the series is set in “a world shattered by a devastating cataclysm. A young Earthbender discovers she’s the new Avatar after Korra—but in this dangerous era, that title marks her as humanity’s destroyer, not its savior. Hunted by both human and spirit enemies, she and her long-lost twin must uncover their mysterious origins and save the Seven Havens before civilization’s last strongholds collapse.”

As for the movie, the date for release is January 2026. At Fan Expo Vancouver, I said hi to Zach Tyler Eisen again. I saw him last year at Emerald City and asked if the creators considered him to come back for some kind of return role. Even then, non-disclosure agreements would prevent him from revealing anything. Also, Gordon Cormier, from the live-action version, was at the Terminal City show and this time he had a booth! Their panel was about answering questions from fans rather than offering updates regarding what’s being planned. One takeaway is that Cormier is excited about Toph’s debut! He did not mention when season two would air. Also, the fact both sides are supportive of one another says it all.

Hunting for Demons in Frankenstein: New World’s Next Chapter

Much has happened with fixing up what’s considered official for Mike Mignola’s version of Frankenstein for Dark Horse Comics. And in a world without Hellboy, he may well be this New World’s saviour!

Frankenstein- New World—The Sea of ForeverDark Horse Comics

Some knowledge is required to understand why Frankenstein exists. He’s replaced Hellboy in this New World series of comics being helmed by Mike Mignola, Christopher Golden, and Thomas Sniegoski. This monster has grown beyond what readers know from Mary Shelly’s work and “officially” took on his creator’s name… And I suspect he’ll become more than an Oracle to the survivors of “Ragna Rok.” Officially, the only canonical material readers need to know are Frankenstein Underground and New World.

While mutants run amok on the surface, in the Hollow Earth, the last survivors of humanity live in peace. It is here where Lilja, a young girl, is worried about her people’s future. As a result, she wants to speak to the oracle (Frankenstein) to alert him of this fate. When he’s in a state of meditation, many people have left him alone, but when the shouting match is loud enough, he’s awake. She hopes he can investigate and also tag along.

On Ne Zha 2, Cultivation and The Grander Plan

Although Ne Zha 2 was years in the making, the wait is worth it! This superhero style retelling of the Chinese novel Investiture of the Gods is all about the wow rather than being fully faithful to the source material.

Ne Zha 2 PosterSpoiler Alert

Anyone who loves the 2019 Chinese animated film about a spunky demon-child (no, not Lil’ Hellboy) will be glad to know Ne Zha 2 is finally here. Having some knowledge of the prior events (or reading my movie review from before and my past coverage) helps because this latest takes place moments after.

Both this kid (Lü Yanting) and Ao Bing (Han Mo) have no mortal shell, and if they don’t have a simulacrum to inhabit, they’ll soon dissipate. Thankfully, with Taiyi Zhenren (Zhang Jiaming) around, a possibility of getting their bodies back exists. However, all do not go according to plan. When the Sacred Lotus lacks the power to build, the result is ectoplasm! This leads to a hilarious intro, and I was in stitches.

When tasting an Inhuman Kiss: The Last Breath (แสงกระสือ 2), What One Feels Is Not Quite Undead.

Although the sequel, Inhuman Kiss: The Last Breath took five years to get released, perhaps watching the first film is required to get viewers up to speed.

The Inhuman Kiss The Last Breath PosterNow available on Digital and VOD

After Valentine’s Day weekend, all I can say is that love bites. After viewing a Thai film titled Inhuman Kiss: The Last Breath, I’m glad to not be currently dating anyone from South Asia. That lady can be 100% mortal by day and completely monstrous at night! According to folklore, the Krasue is this nation’s version of a vampire and the belief in them is real. Even today, people report sightings!

Most of the encounters come from farmers. While some manifestations may simply be swamp lights than will-o’-the-wisps, the fear is justified. They flit about the countryside in search of a midnight snack. Although they are not true vampires, just why they exist does not differ from why the Beholders from Dungeons and Dragons have sprung into being. They don’t guard treasure, but instead need to satisfy a bloodlust. This aspect is one concept this film gets right!

A Knight’s War Never Ends When A Soul Needs To Be Saved!

What makes A Knight’s War feel real is what each soldier must overcome on a spiritual level. But when there’s real evil afoot, is rescuing a fair maiden enough?

A Knight's War Movie PosterNow Playing At Select Theatres and VOD

Chivalry is not dead in Matthew Ninaber’s movie, A Knight’s War. When not everyone lives by that code, I wonder how Bhodie (Jeremy Ninaber) is going to survive. He’s off to save not a princess, but a woman said to reshape the world.

When Avalon’s (Kristen Kaster) morals are not up to the code, just what she represents has everyone quaking in their boots. Even the soldier has his own problems. Although she’s no lovely lady-in-waiting, she has a fire I like. He’s trying his best to show her “how to be nice,” and thankfully what’s presented isn’t like in Shrek. Instead, it concerns how she can be tamed than trained. She’s certainly a spitfire, and Kaster is great at showing it.

When the new gods fear what she can represent because she has red hair, that’s because they are concerned about an age-old  prophecy which will spell doom for them. And so, they have “whispered to the hearts of men is to burn any child matching the terms of the words uttered.”
