Kumi Koda Celebrates 25 Years! Best of and Concert News

Urban R&B Artist Kumi Koda is celebrating 25 glorious years since her debut, and yesterday, her record label released Live in Metaverse ~THE BEST~, to celebrate that fact!

Kumi Koda Live in the MetaverseKumi Koda’s Live in Metaverse ~THE BEST~ promises to be different for those who want an immersive listening experience. This unusual hits collection takes audiences to a “future best-of concert” to be held on December 6, 2093.

Unlike a conventional best-of album, this special collection recreates the feel of a live concert. A proper audio receiver is certainly required for that full on Dolby ATMOS sound experience. Listeners can play the album on YouTube or purchase the home video package through these Japanese retailers.

This singer rose to fame after a few tracks have been selected to be used in anime and video games. The most recognised is “Real Emotion/1000 no Kotoba” in Final Fantasy X-2 and she also voiced the character of Lenne. She also provided a track for the 2004 Cutie Honey movie, and has also done appearances starring as herself. And with no surprise, the KODA KUMI 25th Anniversary Documentary will tell all.

Emerald City Comic Con 2024. It’s Great To Be Back!

Although it took a while for me to collect my thoughts, presented here is my look at how Emerald City Comic Con has changed this decade.

Emerald City Comic Con LogoEmerald City Comic Con certainly exploded in size since 2019. Instead of occupying one building and a quarter during the time I last attended, it’s a full building and a half! I’ve heard stories about last year’s and am glad I didn’t go. Folks had problems navigating around and getting used to the new space. And although the pandemic caused this event to lose momentum back in 2020, it continued in 2021 with health checks in place. To get those certificates verifying you’re safe to arrive from out of the country was a hassle. While the medical concern is today considered an endemic level threat, I heard on Facebook three vendors in Artist’s Alley caught Covid-19.

On Friday and Saturday, the two exhibitors’ floors were packed! Maybe 15% of the people walked around wearing face masks. Although the new building is much more spacious, I doubt spreading things out further can help limit the transmission of con crud. Even after following all the talk concerning the move to Washington State Convention Center‘s Summit Building (last year’s show), this new space is much better than the old one! And after last year’s blunder, there are signs pointing to the basement level where the best vendors are located!

The Documentary YOSHIKI Under The Sky is Ready to Stream and Make Magic in Early 2024!

In what’s special about this documentary is that to see Yoshiki Under the Sky and how the concerrt was put together speaks volumes about where this musician’s heart lays.

The slow roll-out of YOSHIKI Under The Sky from special screenings to streaming is coming soon, and what’s presented makes me regret not checking the online concert from 2020. What’s presented in documentary form is a terrific showcase on what’s missed. Although some of these performances feel short, I’m hoping an album will get released to keep the message ongoing and alive.

When the pandemic was declared, very few musicians thought about what they could do. When Yoshiki decided to put this online concert together, he was smart to also have cameras to capture what went on behind the scenes. Just who he brought collectively from around the world for this telecast includes Sarah Brightman (England), Scorpions (Germany), HYDE (Japan), Jane Zhang (China) and Nicole Scherzinger (USA). There are many more talents, and whom I’ve listed are my personal favourites and I forgot just how amazing the latter’s voice is, especially pre and post Pussycat Dolls.
