Bay Confirmed for Transformers 5 and Reveals for TF5 and TMNT 2

Michael Bay is one of the hardest working directors and in an exclusive interview with Rolling Stone at his Miami home, Bay found free time to discuss his as of yet untitled Transformers 5 project and his latest Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles:

Between his producing duties and directorial work, Bay usually has a half-dozen projects going at once. Right now, in addition to 13 Hours, he’s doing post-production on the next Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, which he’s producing and which is due in 2016, and pre-production for the next Transformers, which he’s directing for summer 2017. “I’m doing Transformers … 5, is it?” Bay says, temporarily losing track. He shakes his head. “I’ve taken on a lot of work.”

What’s Next for Transformers: Robots in Disguise? A Review

Hasbro’s Transformers certainly has evolved throughout the years. Ever since Generation One, this franchise is no longer just an animation for kids. It’s grown from not just simply being a marketing ploy to sell toys. Rainmaker (formerly Mainframe) Entertainment’s Beast Wars was the first to shift this franchise’s direction into a sophisticated world that many fans, including myself, enjoyed. The character dynamics and brooding personalities featured helped keep interest in this franchise alive.

Not everyone took to Transformers: Animated right away, and to skip ahead to Transformers: Prime, I especially loved the darker tone the storytelling went. No matter how small of a success the Autobots made, something sinister would emerge. Optimus had hope, and he believed everything his team did could help light their darkest hour.

Preparing for TMNT & Any Michael Bay Produced Film

Watching a Michael Bay produced film is like watching a music video. He drowns audiences with flashy edits and loud bangs. When considering that is how this producer/director started in the entertainment industry, most people will find that his style has never evolved beyond the four-minute exploitative product and that is most likely why his recent works get panned a lot. He actually started making films fairly well. The Rock was actually a decent film that owed its debt to the dynamics that Sean Connery and Nicolas Cage had on screen more so than Bay’s direction. His break out film, Bad Boys, owed everything to the talent of Will Smith and Martin Lawrence.

Bay’s early films were decent wham bam thank you ma’am action flicks. And before the band Aqua files suit, the sexual allegations is less about the metaphors being made but more in what Bay believes is an ideal film. The reason his films are box office earners is simply because he’s a true believer that goes for what he sees in what can sell a film more than in what can earn a film a place in cinematic history. Even back in the golden age of cinema, the filmmakers were not making their movies with the knowledge that their products will get fondly remembered a century later.

Milne’s Newest Work May Give Fans Transformer Dreams

Canadian comic book artist Alex Milne confirmed via his Twitter page that he is working on a new sketch that he hopes will become a print. The image will include all 1984 Autobots of the Transformers Generation One series. Milne hopes to have the work finished when he attends this year’s TFcon in Chicago, Illinois.

Milne entertained this thought when talking of future work:

The thought of number one Transformers baddie Megatron commanding his terror from the skies Starscream, Thundercracker, and Skywarp, may already have TF fans salivating.

Milne’s work includes Dreamwave’s Transformers: Energon, Transformers Aramada: More Than Meets the Eye, Devil’s Due Publishing’s third issue of the G.I. Joe Vs. the Transformers series, and IDW Publishing’s ongoing series Transformers: More Than Meets the Eye.

Top 10 Movies To Watch For – June 2014

I see June as the first official summer month for movie goers. It’s a time when film studios hope their careful arrangements of their release schedules pay off.

Just which film will make billions and be crowned the king of summer blockbusters? Right now it looks like a stare down between Guardians of the Galaxy and Transformers: Age of Extinction. But can Edge of Tomorrow club both of them over the head and walk away with all the glory? We have three whole months to find out. Or am I off?

The Vintage Tempest’s Toy & Tech Wish-List for Santa

Dear Santa,

I’ve been good. Really, I have. I hope it’s in your willingness to consider putting one of these wish list items under my Christmas tree. I want stuff to satisfy my love for toys or tech. I’ve boiled down my list down to five items.

Unlike my best-friend James, I have satisfied my anime craving a long time ago. There really is not much that I want (on video or otherwise) from Japan … well unless you can send me a full size operational Gundam for me to pilot so I can travel anywhere I want (around the world or in space). Or can you please give me an all expense paid trip to visit the Ghibli Museum at Mitaka Park and Fuji-Q Highland Park (I want the ability to spend a full day at each venue). That would be on top of what I really want.

I was there before, but those memories are over a decade old.

Alternatively, if you can find it in your heart to park an AT-AT at my home, well, my grin will be wider than the Grinch and the Cat Bus (from My Neighbour Totoro) combined. But in terms of being realistic, the following items are far more doable:
