Michael Bay’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Release Pushed Back

Those are very tough times for any version of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles to get onto the big screen again.

TMNTIt’s too bad that Michael Bay’s version of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles cannot be shelved. Instead, this movie is being pitted into a month where it has very little competition to worry about. This film is being shoved back to play in theaters August 12th, so there’s space between this film and Transformers 4, reported Deadline.

That works when the release date for the next film in the Transformers saga is set for June 27, 2014.

The Hobbit: Unexpected Journey gets a Very Expected Extended Cut (Due Nov 5th)

Just how much bigger can Peter Jackson’s The Hobbit can get with this extended cut?

Hobbit Blu-rayThe dragon Smaug must be amused at the fact that, like clock-work, an extended version of Peter Jackson’s The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey is getting an extended cut. The coffers at Warner Bros. Home Entertainment may well get fatter than the wurm’s very own if fans are being enticed to buy this movie again. But for those who have been waiting for a better release, this may be it. Or they can hold out until all three films have been released to theaters. After that, a penultimate edition may appear.

Going Ape for a 12 min Preview of Space Pirate Captain Harlock!

Everything in Captain Harlock Space Pirate looks hyper realistic.

captainharlock2Captain Harlock fans all over the world will just have to wait a little bit longer for a dubbed release of the computer animated film, Space Pirate Captain Harlock. That may seem like bad news but the good news is that GFM Films is reported to be working on a dub. But no word has been said about when it will come out and who will be attached to promote it in North America.

But for people who understand Japanese, a 12 minute clip is available to watch online at Yahoo! Japan to show what the animators have done. Everything in this short looks drop dead gorgeous. It blends a bit of noir into a goth style ala Aliens with plenty of Warhammer 40K style aesthetics to boot.

void(0)DC Fans can rejoice. At San Diego Comic Con 2013, Zack Synder said he will be working on a sequel to Man of Steel and Warner Bros. confirmed that Batman and Superman will meet! The few details revealed confirms that Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne and Diane Lane will reprise their roles and David Goyer will write the script. SDCC’13: LEGO Back to the Future Flashback!

Yes, Doc Brown will be furious at my desire to bash toys up, but I do have a destructive tendency when it comes to certain LEGO builds. After all, rebuilding them is half the fun.

lego-back-to-the-future-deloreanAll I can say in response to LEGO’s release of the Back to the Future line of bricks is that, “This DeLorean can be rebuilt after being gleefully smashed.”

Before fans say sacrilege, this product is LEGO and the build looks relatively simple to assemble. But there is also another reason: it can be updated to look like the vehicle from the later movies, and each of them do have subtle differences.

Select retailers will receive this item on August 1st to sell for a MSRP of $34.99 and I am heavily considering to be waiting in line at my nearest Toys R’ Us to buy this kit. Even if this particular build looks small and the final product looks mediocre, it should be to scale for the awesome looking train.

I can not wait to get the Doc Brown’s homage to steam punk. Hopefully this locomotion will be set to sell later. It’s currently a LEGO Cuusoo concept/design. For people who do know what this group is, they produce community supported sets. All it takes are 1,000 ‘likes’ and it will be reviewed by the LEGO Group to be considered being made to an official LEGO product.
