All Things Avatar The Last Airbender Related That’s Coming in 2025/2026

While fans of Avatar are eagerly waiting for the animated movie to release in 2026, the adventures that have taken place as published by Dark Horse Comics are getting a proper Avatar: The Last Airbender Omnibus collection! I’ve been collecting these comics as they came out, and they feel like a perfect continuation. This ought to be enough to sate eager fans following the news of the television series, Avatar: Seven Havens, which is a continuation of the franchise. The summary is as follows (from Variety):

Per the official logline, the series is set in “a world shattered by a devastating cataclysm. A young Earthbender discovers she’s the new Avatar after Korra—but in this dangerous era, that title marks her as humanity’s destroyer, not its savior. Hunted by both human and spirit enemies, she and her long-lost twin must uncover their mysterious origins and save the Seven Havens before civilization’s last strongholds collapse.”

As for the movie, the date for release is January 2026. At Fan Expo Vancouver, I said hi to Zach Tyler Eisen again. I saw him last year at Emerald City and asked if the creators considered him to come back for some kind of return role. Even then, non-disclosure agreements would prevent him from revealing anything. Also, Gordon Cormier, from the live-action version, was at the Terminal City show and this time he had a booth! Their panel was about answering questions from fans rather than offering updates regarding what’s being planned. One takeaway is that Cormier is excited about Toph’s debut! He did not mention when season two would air. Also, the fact both sides are supportive of one another says it all.

The Beasts of Burden Omnibus collection is here, and I’m ready to play with every one of these cats and dogs again. When this eight-time Eisner Award-winning comic book series perfectly offers supernatural goings on as folklore defines it, I’m ready to go investigating along with them!

I have been following their exploits ever since The Dark Horse Book of Hauntings, and to see them appear in other titles, like Dark Horse Presents and Hellboy means good things. But to obtain every work they appeared in can be hard. That’s because there is no consistent release schedule.

I do not fault creators Evan Dorkin (Milk & Cheese), Jill Thompson (The Sandman), and Ben Dewey (Autumnlands) for it. In order to construct the right stories, they have to examine the legends too. And when the previous collections ranged from hardcover to soft, trying to decide on which edition to own can be tough! But as a die-hard, I’ve been buying the singles, collections and any other merchandise I know of to show my appreciation, and one day hope the team have new tales planned.

Not Just An Epic Scoop for Richard A. Hamilton’s Upcoming Tales of Wonder. It’s a Techtiv Too!

Richard A. Hamilton and Marco Matrone’s latest work is now out in bookstores, and if you love young adult graphic novels set in a post apocalyptic world, this one is for you! And we got info on Mad Cave Studio’s next project featuring this author.

Fans of Richard A. Hamilton’s work in the graphic novel front will be thrilled to read Tectiv Vol. 1: Noirtopia, a new series about Bingo Finder looking at lost texts to inspire her to search for her missing best friend. But to solve this mystery, this young lady must fight for her own life and uncover a conspiracy within this fragile civilization.

Reading the preview offered through Google Books shows this author knows the genre completely, and he brings readers into the world like they’ve very lived in. The way the characters come alive is fantastic, and in what I sensed from Finder, she’s discovered the Library of Alexandria! Well, the place isn’t big, but that’s the sense of awe I got when looking at those pages illustrated by Marco Matrone.

I’ve always enjoyed everything Hamilton brings to any world, whether it’s from another creator’s work or not. Where he shines the most is when he gets to develop his own universe!

What Makes A Cthulhu Cat Roar is….

Dark Horse Comics

Although manga artist Pandania’s Cthulhu Cat is not the first time a Great Old One morphed to another form, I fell in love with the idea ever since I watched The Real Ghostbusters episode, “The Collect Call of Cathulhu.”

As a result, I often wondered if I’d see some iteration again? After all, most of Lovecraft’s ideas are now in the public domain. On the RPG front, Sixtystone Press’ Cathulhu for Call of Cthulhu about two years ago. To find renditions thereof is hit-and-miss when looking on the internet and artists’ alley during conventions. I have to mention Tentacle Kitty because I believe H.P. Lovecraft‘s love for cats inspired this IP.

Spiritbox’s Eternal Blue. From Album to Graphic Novel, Sometimes the Search for Answers is Worth it.

Just how well the punk music band Spiritbox does with their single “Eternal Blue” from years back really depends on telling the world there’s also a graphic novel adaptation of this album too.

Eternal blue is one of those graphic novels that’s very hard to find. When it’s been published by a boutique publisher with a low print run, not even Diamond Comic Distributors have copies at their warehouse. I didn’t want to preorder as this company didn’t have a solid reputation for getting books out on time, and hoped there’d be a supply after it finally got released.

New fans of the heavy metal band, Spiritbox, are not missing out with the standard retail release. What’s drawn from the album gets a solid interpretation, and I feel this work is only for die-hard fans. This group of musicians came into prominence in 2019. Although their sound is more nupunk than anything else, the fact they made waves while still living in my hometown of Victoria, BC said everything. Leading vocalist Courtney LaPlante and guitarist Mike Stringer started this group; although they’ve since relocated since then, the fact they had local roots made me want to keep tabs on their future.

The Science of Ghosts. Just How Hard Is It To Make One Up?

One aspect in what makes The Science of Ghosts ideal to real this Halloween season is that some spectres can be manufactured, especially when the plot seems Scooby Doo (revenge driven).

Legendary Comics

Although The Science of Ghosts had delays in getting to print after it was first announced, thankfully this graphic novel release isn’t vaporware. When the topic concerns why they manifest and what their importance is to family legacies, just what’s told isn’t necessarily mind-shattering! As for encountering one for real versus manufactured, that’s a detail I rather enjoyed discovering while reading this book.

Here, the portrayal of ghosts suggests that some old black magic needs to be involved more so than trauma to cause them to remain on this earthly plane. As Halloween approaches, I finally cracked open this book written by Lilah Sturges and illustrated by El Garing. This graphic novel doesn’t really delve into the physics behind what makes up a ghost (it would’ve been interesting to offer ideas). Instead, what it offers is a great hard-boiled type mystery concerning this spirit appearing to specific individuals.
