Krut The Mythic Wings and The Himmaphan Warriors. On What’s Wrong and Where to Find it

The 3D illusion in Krut The Mythic Wings is a pleasant touch. The only shame is that you can not run and fight in all four directions like some modern fighters.

Krut The Mythic WingsPlayers must master dodging and be skilled at slaying enemies in Krut The Mythic Wings without getting hit if they are to survive this multi platform video game. It’s available on many systems. If that isn’t hard enough, collecting the soul orbs is even worse. Thus, only the worthy need to apply. Here, you play an eagle-headed warrior of the Garuda race and have to overcome all the obstacles in six levels to master the elements. Having that skill is required before being allowed to get mystical armour before taking on the rock ogres again.

If you have seen the Indonesian movie, Krut: The Himmaphan Warriors, which this game is inspired by, then it’s almost worth comparing. The trailer (see below) shows off a PS3 level graphics akin the very first God of War PS3 videogame. The version we get to play is crisper and much more colourful. And by the mid-way point, we see how this version of Krut gains his Mythic Wings. To note, despite what Google says, it is not available on either Disney Plus or Netflix (Canada). I had no luck finding it from online sources. The cost to import the DVD from YesAsia is crazy when you don’t take advantage of the free international shipping offer (i.e. order a lot), or you can search eBay for it.

Although the details are scant, Seth Rogan and Paramount Pictures wants fans to know that in precisely a year’s time, TMNT Mutant Mayhem will hit theatres! This animated film will hit theatres August 4, 2023. And over at Otakunoculture.com, we love our turtles! Well, minus the Michael Bay films, that is.

This producer said in the past that it’ll focus on these turtles in the half shell will be embrace everything that a presumedly modern teen will face. This work was first announced to be in development in 2020, and it’s good that we’re finally hearing there’s movement in this project. Nickelodeon plans to follow-up with additional projects too, and this other studio says it will focus on the villains. With the film, we can expect it to bring on some fond favourites and perhaps create some new ones. Baxter Stockman has always been that fly on the wall which our own Ed Sum hopes can be more than the comedic relief from the classic series I grew up with.

From Dragon Master to Dragon Knight. Can Kung Fu Panda Regain His Honour?

Kung Fu Panda The Dragon Knight is better than Legends of Awesomeness because we have a stronger ongoing narrative.

Kung Fu Panda Dragon Knight PosterAvailable to view on Netflix
Spoiler Alert

Po (Jack Black) has to make “The Journey to the West” in true Monkey King fashion if he’s to regain his honour. In the latest entry to the Kung Fu Panda franchise, he’s neither the Dragon Master nor the Dragon Knight (the title of this latest series) because his tomfoolery destroyed a village. Also, he let it lose its most precious protected relic to two weasels. If he can’t recover the stolen WuGao Gauntlet with Luthera of Landreth (Rita Ora), a bear from England, then he’ll have a lot more to lose. But this female knight has problems too.

If this plot sounds familiar, that’s because we’ve seen it before in Avatar: The Last Avatar and Ninjago: Masters of Spinjitzu. It combines ideas from the early seasons. One is in finding your true potential all over again. To see Po wanting to see people to have faith in him is far more important than the other arc about saving the world from a Thanos level threat.

Ninjago Crystallized at Mid-Season, That Surprise Cliffhanger, and Broadcast News

I’m writing about this without reference to the new Ninjago Crystallized trailer that’s available regarding the last two-thirds of the season.

NinjagoThe latest episodes of Ninjago Crystallized are really about “The Fifth Villain” joining the Crystal Council and perhaps breaking them up before things get worse. After the team’s prison breakout and evasion of Hounddog McBrag, they’re not ready to take a breather just yet. The team is back together to figure out who this person is after some silly Fugi-Dove moments. This episode moves very quickly, and the best takeaway is in giving this comic villain a chance at redemption.

Perhaps he’ll turn his back on crime and become a hero for justice! It’s hard to fathom what goes on in his mind, but I’m loving this character even more.

The Mechanic is proving to be quite the troublemaker. He’s a lot more versatile than previously thought because we see just how skilled he is with fashioning tech. Like Doc Ock from Spider-Man, his spare limbs have a mind of their own, and the Ninjago team are ill prepared to deal with him.

Although they could catch him and tie him up, to say he “levelled up” goes beyond showing how he escapes! He indeed is the next to be recruited, and he’s no doubt thrilled to join “The Council of the Crystal King.”

Regarding Alain Bidard’s Opal. She’s More Than A Kind of Magic and is The Best Movie (so far) of Fantasia 2022!

The real message in Alain Bidard’s Opal concerns whether everyone truly loves this princess.

Opal Movie PosterLong time devotees of Alain Bidard‘s works will love his latest movie, Opal. Most of this filmmaker’s catalogue of works played at Fantasia, and his last film was Battledream Chronicle. This movie is his second feature and his past works are often complex fairy tales. This film looks at why a young princess (Dawn-Lissa Mystille) named after a crystal is special.

Not only is she a wonderful, sparkling personality, but also brings joy. If she’s happy, the kingdom prospers. But when she’s sad, the opposite rings true. Whether she’s like the Well of Souls is not up for debate. Instead, what she radiates is magical, since the realm feeds off that. Because she’s key to the nation’s prosperity, should she go missing, plants will die and people will suffer. What we soon learn is that she’s living in a prison without walls. She’s allowed to roam the palace, but can’t go out.

Dealing with My Grandfather’s Demons Isn’t Tough at Fantasia 2022

We can learn from Rosa’s little adventure, and when she returns to work after dealing with My Grandfather’s Demons, perhaps she can bring a memento from that secret garden she helped bring back to life.

My Grandfather's DemonsGKIDS

Rosa (Victória Guerra) is struggling with life in My Grandfather’s Demons. She’s in a dead-end job in a company where they reward productivity with a golden digital mascot type award–but that’s not enough for her. Because of this, she’s great at what she does, one day, she freaks out. Nobody knew that her grandfather (António Durães) died, and pretty soon, she was asked to take a holiday.

In what makes this film unique is in how two different animation styles are used to represent the realities that Rosa lives in. I sense this woman’s been feeling very disconnected from the world because her grandfather died. For example, the introduction of her life in a big city is rendered in CGI, whereas the countryside is made with clay and animated in stop motion. The latter may well stand for how Rosa needs to return to her roots. She needs to reground herself.
