Everyone is jumping on the nostalgia bandwagon and that’s not a bad thing. Wether you are groovin’ to the 70’s disco-influenced song She Keeps Me Up by Nickelback or the pure 80’s funk of Mark Ronson‘s Uptown Funk featuring Bruno Mars, there is something for almost everyone to get down to.

Now even geeks, specifically the Potter fans, have a similar song they dance in their Hogwarts cloaks to. From KFaceTV — the people who brought you last year’s YouTube sensation Talk Nerdy To Me (original Talk Dirty by Jason Derulo) — comes Dark Lord Funk, a parody of Mark Ronson’s previously mentioned work.

The video has so far racked up over 450,000 views.

One Otaku’s Top Picks on Shout! Factory TV!

Shout! Factory’s foray into streaming television to fans worldwide with their service is going to get exciting. Launched last month, to figure out what’s worth watching just meant waiting. Sometimes fans of this distribution company’s releases are not sure if picking up a physical video release is worth it. Now the choice is made easier with this online service that is available to watch on all Internet capable devices, including Roku.

Classics like Rodgers & Hammerstein’s Cinderella, Nosferatu the Vampire and Where the Green Ants Dream are available. For people familiar with acclaimed filmmaker Werner Herzog‘s works, all sixteen of his films will soon be available to watch! The next batch is due to release March 16th.

Star Wars: The Clone Wars Finale to Hit Netflix!

Multiple sources have confirmed that the final season to Lucafilm/Disney’s Star Wars: The Clone Wars is coming to Netflix early March. Finally, the fate of Ahsoka Tano will get answered in a 13 episode run that will not only test Anakin Skywalker’s relationship with her (presumably) but also reveal the fate of all Jedi before it leads in to Episode 4, A New Hope.

Even more exciting is that Netflix will present director’s cut of seasons one to five. Now the big question is whether or not new video releases will follow. In this exclusive deal between Disney and Netflix, most likely not. But for fans who knows the lore, all it takes is Obi-Wan to only hope.

LEGO Marvel Superheroes is Spidey-Centric!

lego-marvel-maximum-overload-cast The LEGO Marvel universe did more than explode when TT Games announced development of the game LEGO Marvel Superheroes for multiple platforms. Mini-figures began appearing since 2002 with Spiderman and ever since then, interest has been a slow burn. The video game, which released Oct 22 is only testament to the fact that Marvel’s superheroes are a hot commodity. And no sooner than Stan Lee can say, “Make Mine Marvel!” the enviable had to happen: expansion into other media. Toys and an animated series are available for fans of this comic book universe to consume.

LEGO Marvel Super Heroes: Maximum Overload (LMSH:MO) is a web series that can be found on Disney and Marvel Entertainment’s Youtube channel, and it’s surprisingly good. The simple reason is that it does not tickle the funny bone too much. The 3-4 minute length is perfectly suited for viewers looking for light-hearted entertainment. That’s how these LEGO videos should be constructed. Movie length LEGO films are hard to pull off. To maintain the humour needs a good wit than silly foreplay, and that’s one reason why LEGO Batman: The Movie failed.
