Fan Expo Vancouver’s First Wave of Guest Announcements is Here!

The first round of guest announcements for Fan Expo Vancouver 2023 are here!

Fan Expo Vancouver
Feb 18-23, 2023 at the Vancouver Convention Center

Fan Expo Vancouver may well be gearing up for a big 2023 year. They’ve begun their wave of guest announcements so that holiday gift givers can show their love for the pop culture enthusiast in the family by buying them a pass. In the early weeks of November, they reported Stephen Amell of Arrow fame and Matthew Lewis from the Harry Potter movies will appear.

For now, the official website information is stating they will be signing autographs and doing photo ops for one day only.

Tim Curry to Headline Emerald City Comic Con!

Tim Curry - Sonic RetroDec 2 to 5, 2021
Washington State Convention Center

The winter edition of Emerald City Comic Con is certainly heating up! In about three weeks, Tim Curry will grace the green stage with stories and fond memories of his work in films like The Rocky Horror Picture Show, IT and many more.

Despite a stroke which left him partially paralyzed and affected his ability to speak, he’s still able to perform and focuses more on voice-acting than being in front of the camera. This talent has been in the forefront of many fond animated works in the past and continues to do more work in the present. He was Mr. Curry in Paddington Bear, offered the occasional pain to Peter Pan and the Pirates as Captain James T. Hook and voiced Konk in Pirates of the Dark Water. He often continued to be a ‘mad doctor’ of sorts in many a cartoon, like Doctor Moroco in Transformers: Rescue Bots.

But its the live action works he’s best and fondly remembered for.

Those able to make it to Seattle’s seminal fandom exposition will be in for a thrill. Though not many remember his time in the recording studio making music, it’ll always be his forays into this scene that defined this man as a true entertainer.

John Cena is Headed to ECCC2021!

Let’s just hope he’s ready to face the greatest challenge many similar events are facing, is having massive indoor events a good idea while the world is still in the midst of a pandemic?

From World Wrestling Entertainment’s ring to cinema’s silver screen, John Cena certainly made an impact. He follows after a small line of “athletes” turned actors who’s developing a splendid career in the latter. This veteran of crazy dramatics certainly shows he has the chops for good-hearted family films like Daddy’s Home to action-star material with Suicide Squad. In December, he’ll be making a one-day appearance at Emerald City Comic Con! Emerald City Comic Con is Back to the Future!

(The Vintage Tempest)

After months of waiting, Emerald City Comic Con is making their huge guest announcements. The gang from Back to the Future is landing in Seattle, Washington! After a nearly steady tour at other shows, the wait for them to arrive in the Pacific Northwest is finally at an end. From the Silicon Valley Comic Convention to Fan Expo Toronto to Calgary, I had the feeling they will eventually hit either the Vancouver show, or Seattle.

If you’re like me, hoping for a commemorative tee, let’s hope the graphic design team will have an image of a DeLorean flying circles around the Needle. I’d get that signed and never worn!

Christopher Lloyd, Lea Thompson and Tom Wilson have visited the Emerald City before, but to see the entire gang together takes planning. Due to the health of Michael J. Fox, some cancellations did occur in the past and all we can do as fans is to wish him the best and hope nothing happens from this announcement to the night of the event.

The 2020 Pacific Northwest Convention Scene & How Star Trek Plays into It…

In the Pacific Northwest, if the organizers behind the coming “comic book” conventions for next year are not careful, the focus on Star Trek will not be as exciting as it ought to be.

In the Pacific Northwest, if the organizers behind the coming “comic book” conventions for next year are not careful, the focus on Star Trek will not be as exciting as it ought to be. The 90s was ripe for the scene because everyone loved watching The Next Generation. Appearances of talents from this franchise at a comic book store or science fiction convention was a guaranteed draw. I met a handful of these talents before charging for autographs became a mandatory thing.

CBS All Access Picard is a dream come true. It’s a continuation of The Next Generation and will bring the cast back (or feature other Admirals, past villains and etc) as easy as writing a time travel episode.
