Release Date: April 10, 2024
Spoiler Alert

When Meabh wants to leave the Adventurer’s Guild, not everyone from that club is happy. In the opening pages, what’s suggested is that there’s only one person who is sympathetic. And when the tale picks up some years later in the comic book, When The Blood Has Dried, it seems the others are not happy and want to take her down. The reason is unknown, and I’m keyed into this mystery written by Gary Moloney and drawn by Daniel Romero Ulloa.

The opening pages set the tone about what this organisation does. They are not what readers may think, and that’s enough to get me curious since what’s presented is a world ruled by what seems to be a mediaeval version of a “biker gang.” By the time I learn more about this group, I think what’s happening in this first issue is setting up a fantasy version of John Wick.

An Interview with Patrick Rami of Lethal Shadows Productions, Seattle’s Best Kept Secret for All Things Tabletop Gaming Related

From dice to fantasy miniatures to painting accessories, Lethal Shadows Productions is ready to take the gaming world by storm!

Patrick Ramey, Lethal Shadows Productions PresidentLethal Shadows Productions is a producer of many role playing game style goods, and they have a bit of everything for the discerning player. They launched their paint line this week, and I’m very interested in seeing how well they can fare against the other companies like Games Workshop and Reaper Minis who manufacture just as diverse a range! The difference lays in not producing a huge set of a specific colour in varying tones, but instead to keep it simple. As a launch promotion, anyone buying more than eight bottles to represent every colour of the rainbow (along with black and white) will get a 20% off.

This company began operation in 2019, making some high quality products for their own group, but when there were a few industry insiders who said they should really put these out in the market, Patrick Rami listened. At first, they were focussed on producing terrain and miniatures. After a few months, they got a business running, and it grew from there. He says his operation is very mom and pop, and there are plans to expand this Seattle based operation further. There’s very few people handling all the mail orders, and shipping those packages out slows down during convention season as there’s nobody at home manning the castle.

Summoning Up Players for Magic Chaos May Be The Greatest Challenge of Them All

After spending two weeks in Magic Chaos, the real challenge is in finding folks interested in trying this party game with you.

Magic Chaos Title CardMagic Chaos is a type of video game where you can play a magical girl become a Terminator! Although I expected cut scenes showing these heroines transforming into new modes (costumes) between matches, I had not progressed far enough to find out. Instead, what’s created by Super Starmine is a party-based player versus player product rather than something to enjoy alone. It’ll most likely do well at an anime convention’s arcade room, and thus, in that environment, finding people to play against is not as difficult as online.

I adjusted my schedule to Japan time to see if I could find anyone during the time I spent with this early release, and didn’t find many folks. Players can set up rooms for other gamers to join, and during the times I checked, there were not many. The fact they are “locked” made me think the option exists to limit who you want in. When I turned to Discord, the mostly Japanese written discussion forum made it tough to figure out which channel is appropriate to ask if someone would like to take part in a match.

The Only Damsel in Distress is What We Feel After Watching This Flick

Net every twist on the fairy tale convention can work, and where Damsel misses the mark is in providing a reason why she would befriend that serpent in the pit.

Damsel Movie PosterOnce viewers know the movie outline to Netflix’s Damsel, there’s hardly any surprise in regard to what will happen to Elodie (Millie Bobby Brown) in this fairy tale turned upside down. That also includes the empathy that’s expected for any princess who gets tossed to the pit, and expected to die because of the serpent that lies within.

There’s a dragon and while she is no true servant of evil, just what this serpentine represents suggests there’s more to this tale than meets the eye. I’d have to give it another view, focussing on this creature’s point of view, and trying to figure out if this beast was ever friendly to humans.

However, this movie is about a mortal woman who is no longer that lady in distress (as the title proposes). She’s able to hold her own, and I doubt she even wants to be married. The prince she meets is not all that charming once he shows his true colours. Also, I kept on thinking about DreamWorks Shrek while watching this work, and thankfully this live-action piece is not intentionally wanting to mirror the demeanour of Princess Fiona. Both are quite feisty, and I rather like it.

The Librarians The Next Chapter is the Next Instalment for this Beloved IP

The dedication fans have for this The Librarians The Next Chapter will no doubt have a lot of people guessing at what this instalment will truly be about. Will it acknowledge all the lore the series revealed in season four?

The Librarians The Next Chapter (Not)! Title CardI’m honestly very surprised at how fast The CW is fast tracking reviving a series I wanted to see return for a long time. The Librarians The Next Chapter is a fantasy action adventure series that is one part Indiana Jones and another Carmen Sandeigo. Although the latter is a loosey goosey about with its globe-trotting and educational value, I’ve always loved this series back when it was a movie trilogy about searching for some lost treasure. Series creator Dean Devlin recently posted a picture on his Twitter/X account giving fans a tease on this latest instalment.
