Don’t Fear, But Run Away from The Yeti! Who Knows, You May Survive!

A pulpy, snowbound creature feature, The Yeti targets an April 10 release in theatres and on digital, and the trailer hints at practical effects, crisp cinematography, and a rescue mission heading into trouble.

Fear is primal, and when parts of the world still feel untamed, aye, it’s wise to fear The Yeti. This creature feature is aiming for an April 10 release in theatres and on digital. Also, quick note, the actor here isn’t the same one people may confuse him with. Here, Pooh Bear he is not. In this film, he plays Booker, a man who may or may not understand what’s waiting for the unlucky souls trekking into the frozen wilds.

What we know so far is that the story takes place in 1947, when people could vanish without a trace and the Alaska Triangle hadn’t yet entered popular imagination. There are no UFOs either! The plot follows the disappearance of an oil tycoon (Corbin Bernsen) and a legendary adventurer (William Sadler).

They’re not as well known as Hale Boggs and Nick Begich, the politicians who later vanished in 1972, but the comparison helps underline how perilous this region can be. Co-directors Gene Gallerano and William Pisciotta make their feature debut here, which is already a promising hook. Ellie Bannister (Brittany Allen) and Merriell Sunday Jr. (Eric Nelsen) lead a rescue mission to find the missing men. They’re connected to the case personally, and the trailer keeps the rest close to the chest.

Mad Cave Studios’ The Dark Pyramid Promises To Be Action-Packed! An Interview with Paul Tobin and PJ Holden.

The perfect combination of pulse-pounding adventure, chilling horror, and high-stakes mystery, The Dark Pyramid will take readers deep beneath Alaska’s Mt. Denali, where secrets as old as time threaten to change the world forever!

Release Date: March 12

Not to be confused with The Black Pyramid of King Amenemhat III of Egypt, Mad Cave Studios has their own ideas regarding The Dark Pyramid that’s in Alaska. Writer Paul Tobin said his boss, editor Mike Marts, came up with the idea and he filled in all the blanks. Unlike other takes, instead of exploring the conspiracy, he had better ideas. And when he partnered up with P.J. Holden, their second collaborative work together, what they fashioned will surprise readers.

This comic book miniseries will hit shelves March 2, and I spoke to them to learn more about this series. I’ve been keeping track of nearly every bit of lore regarding this mystery, and the fact other authors want to take a stab at the strange goings-on got my attention. But first, I asked about why they love writing/drawing for comics.

Paul Tobin (writer)

PT: Because my grandmother bought piles she got from garage sales and random buys. I’d always be digging through them to read whatever’s there. The stuff which stood out was old westerns, Tweety & Sylvester and some superhero stuff.

PJ: I remember the first time I saw a comic, it was a sort of love at first sight. I was a very reluctant reader, and it all changed one night, when the weather was bad outside, and there was this bunch in front of me. They were UK comics–Warlord, some Marvels and the like. I also remember finding a stash in a bin–I remember one had a picture of Thanos.

On the Trail of Bigfoot: Last Frontier is Seth Breedlove‘s latest documentary under the label of Small Town Wonders. Where he heads to now is Alaska, and the people he talks have some fascinating stories that any researcher will want to hear! They hail from various towns that are strewn throughout the State, but as for whether we should believe them or not depends on wanting to believe. By my estimate, they’re just everyday folks and they have no reason to lie.

This filmmaker loves delving into urban myth, and I believe he’s far more genuine than those speciality network series. His work demonstrates he’s not approaching the subject with him in front of the lens all the time. What he discovers has an air of authenticity, and unlike his look into the legend of the Jersey Devil (review) and Rougarou, this one sees him a lot more invested in the subject. Like his past works where he’s on the trail of the elusive giant, his focus is on the west coast. These can be found on Tubi, and they tend to focus on the Pacific Northwest, and in this latest, he’s travelling north!

Even in British Columbia, residents living very close to The Rockies have to face the Grizzly Bear. When these gentle creatures venture too often into the towns, that can lead to problems. Sometimes, the animal has to be euthanized instead of simply relocated.

Filmmaker and bear enthusiast Timothy Treadwell studied this creature in its native habitat, but not even living with them can help; he spent 13 years in Alaska’s Katmai National Park trying to understand their behaviour and sadly, he knew he was in trouble. The media was abuzz when his remains was found.

Diary of the Grizzly Man is produced by Erik Nelson and Jewel Palovak, the producers of Werner Herzog’s acclaimed documentary, Grizzly Man (2003). This new three-hour mini-series is crafted from Treadwell’s vast film archive, and takes us deep inside the unfolding dramas and life and death struggles of the Alaskan animals he devoted his life to protecting and understanding. It contains never-before-seen footage and astonishing still photographs of Treadwell’s interactions with very wild nature–dangerous interactions which would ultimately lead to the death of Treadwell and his girlfriend, Amie Hugarnard.
