Henry Danger The Movie, Preparing For A New Generation The Right Way!

At long last, Henry Danger the Movie is being developed to be somewhat like Batman while retaining what defines a Nickelodeon show! And the horror schtick helps.

Spoiler Alert

Every once in a while, when I see a commercial for Nickelodeon’s Henry Danger or one of its spinoffs on YTV, I wonder if the former side-kick (Jace Norman) will ever become  Nightwing from DC Comics? And I’m surprised Henry Danger The Movie delivered. I can easily picture him as that type of jaded individual after the events from the original series. Although this continuation has moments which has to recognise why this studio loves silly, the trip through the light fantastic was very entertaining!

That’s because Frankini (Frankie Grande) steals the show. He manages and performs at the nightclub where the best action takes place. Although this individual appeared in only three episodes of the series, for the producers to decide on which recurring character to bring back must have been tough. And when he got transformed into a vampire, I’m sure he can give Paul Reuben a run for the money. Unfortunately, the alt version of this dancer does not have a hilarious death scene like in the Buffy movie, but he looks absolutely fabulous!

How How Long Will The Fairly OddParents A New Wish Last?

In what makes The Fairly OddParents A New Wish work is that Cosmo and Wanda have never aged, and let’s hope they never do!

The Fairly OddParents A New Wish PosterAlso Streaming on Netflix

Watching The Fairly OddParents in the early 00s was a guilty pleasure. I loved the nutty adventures as ten-year-old Timmy Turner navigated through life’s many hurdles. In the sequels and live-action features, he grows up, and his time with the fairies must end.

When Cosmo and Wanda moved on to help new kids, the series never felt the same. And when I noticed Netflix listed The Fairly OddParents A New Wish, curiousity got the better of me. I’m glad the series finished its Nickelodeon run, so other services can start carrying it.

With this latest, Hazel Wells is trying to adjust to life in an unfamiliar city and is without her older brother—the fairies believe they should help! Everything I loved is just as crazy. While it doesn’t quite live up to what I enjoyed in the past, what’s offered are early episodes are still enjoyable. Although I’m not all that keen with the digital redesign, I got used to the new style quite fast. Had the studio given this series a bigger budget, I’d love to see the fairies rendered in CGI and real life as hand-drawn.

Until the next batch of episodes are offered. all that hyperactive chaos I know this series extols isn’t quite there yet.

Missing Persons and Grisly Murders. When Expedition Files Opens Up Old Case Files Once More.

It’s less about the destinations these days for Josh Gates, doing host duty for Discovery Channel’s latest, Expedition Files.

Expedition Files with Josh Gates as HostBetween Expedition Unknown, Expedition X and Expedition Files, it’s safe to say Josh Gates is keeping my interest in Discovery Channel‘s programming alive. When the latter offers deeper looks into cold cases rather than simply old which includes new theories on who is to blame, I’m hooked! In the first episode, Travis Walton’s alien abduction is explored. And I’m glad this series is not regurgitating the same ol’ material. What’s key to this segment is that Gates spoke to the man to see how he’s doing now.

As for Charles Augustus Lindbergh Jr’s grisly death, speculation is still rampant. What’s offered here suggests his father was into eugenics! Revelations could tarnish this family’s legacy, but until conclusive evidence emerges, everything remains mere allegations.

Season Two of David J. Fernandes’ Creepy Bits is Here! Prepare for More Spooky Tales of the Unexpected!

And we have an episode guide too! Disclaimer: Creepy Bits is best experienced in the dark, with headphones. If only they were quadraphonic….

Creepy Bits Season Two PosterHollywood Suite Broadcast Premiere Nov 19 at 9pm ET.

After Halloween, not everyone was preparing for The Day of the Dead. Some folks may have tuned in to view David J. FernandesCreepy Bits that debuted early in the month on VOD. But now, it’s more accessible on specific specialty networks! There’s no news yet for worldwide release, but in the meantime, for Canadians, they have early access.

It’s a wonderful series for those who want simple frights in a bite-size format. This Canadian series offers a contemporary take on some classic tropes, and will leave viewers in awe.

After the debut “Baby Face,” episode from season one, what makes this program special is that sets up the tension quite fast for the bogeyman style surprise! These shorts live up to its name for effectively creating that sense of unease, even as the last frames play out. Sometimes, the finale is not for the better, but is far, far worse, and leaves the aftermath for each viewer’s imagination to figure out.

Let’s Experience Chillingham Castle on Halloween! (Are The Frights Real Anymore?)

This Halloween, Chillingham Castle gets all the love as this location may well be the only place guaranteed to send shivers down any visitor’s spine!

Chillingham Castle GhostlyTo name what the top ten most haunted places are in the world is subjective, and what we offer has criteria to fulfil: has there been any archaeological style updates at these locales recently? I think the only location is Chillingham Castle, a time-honoured favourite. Investigators mostly work on gathering evidence to justify why a location is haunted, and the experience will vary.

In the entertainment medium, I have seen no advertising campaigns for Ghostober this year. Discovery Plus and TRVL Channel may well be losing customers because of the lack of new content. Some analysts are saying one network will go off air, and fans of this genre will have to head to YouTube or ParaFlixx for their fix. Though I find the latter service lacks the production quality of the nicely funded shows, the heart is in the right place even though the charisma of the talents is hit-and-miss.

And as I searched for something recent to enjoy this week, only one YouTube documentary stood out as fresh. It’s an impressive look at why some people love the classic ghost story, especially before Shakespeare turned the genre upside its head into the form we love now:

In The Bad Guys Haunted Heist, What Can Go Horribly Wrong?

Between the two Halloween specials that are one-shots rather than as part of a series, The Bad Guys Haunted Heist isn’t too bad. It just needs more howl!

The Bad Guys Halloween HeistAlthough DreamWorks The Bad Guys isn’t the greatest work in their movie catalogue, I still wanted to see what this studio would dream up for this year’s special. When it’s simply labelled The Bad Guys Haunted Heist, I was morbidly curious.

Unlike this studio’s past works, which are enjoyable to watch, this latest lacks the spice that made past specials–Shrek: Thrilling Tales and Scared Shrekless, along with Monsters vs Aliens’ Mutant Pumpkins and Night of the Living Carrots–a joy to watch. These pieces were basically about the title characters celebrating the season and I always play the compilation release, Six Spooky Stories (Amazon link) when Halloween weeks rolls around. Hopefully there’ll be an update that will include the ones that are part of their animated series rollout (My favourite episode is “The Po Who Cried Ghost” from Kung Fu Panda: Legends of Awesomeness.

What The Bad Guys do is invert the formula from Scooby-Doo, Where Are You? and tell it from a villain’s perspective. To say who would have gotten away with it isn’t all that surprising, as I easily guessed how the tale would go.
