I personally believe we are finally out of the paranormal reality television craze as interest has, ironically enough, faded away. The few programs that remain for Spring 2026 Mystery Block are money makers for one reason or another, but as for new content and promoting those shows, it’s about bloody time!

What started as a niche revival has exploded into a full-blown spring premiere block. And it’s no joke, April is a busy month! Whether you’re here for the cryptids, the conspiracies, or just to see genre icons staring intensely at dusty artifacts, here is how the lineup is shaping up.

With Expedition X having finished its run not too long ago, there’s an empty chair in the entertainment that needs filling. And there is good news as the next season is being filmed. On the series fan page on Facebook, Heather confirmed they are filming. All fans can do is wait while The Secret of Oak Island is nothing but dead air. As for Expedition Files, the successor to the Unknown brand, that’s coming April 1st if the info on their social media is correct.

Missing Persons and Grisly Murders. When Expedition Files Opens Up Old Case Files Once More.

It’s less about the destinations these days for Josh Gates, doing host duty for Discovery Channel’s latest, Expedition Files.

Expedition Files with Josh Gates as HostBetween Expedition Unknown, Expedition X and Expedition Files, it’s safe to say Josh Gates is keeping my interest in Discovery Channel‘s programming alive. When the latter offers deeper looks into cold cases rather than simply old which includes new theories on who is to blame, I’m hooked! In the first episode, Travis Walton’s alien abduction is explored. And I’m glad this series is not regurgitating the same ol’ material. What’s key to this segment is that Gates spoke to the man to see how he’s doing now.

As for Charles Augustus Lindbergh Jr’s grisly death, speculation is still rampant. What’s offered here suggests his father was into eugenics! Revelations could tarnish this family’s legacy, but until conclusive evidence emerges, everything remains mere allegations.

A Look Back at Discovery’s Shark Week and Wild Eye’s Space Sharks. Maybe It’s Better to Swim with the Selachii

There’ll soon be a lot of danger not only at sea but also on land when Shark Week Starts later this month with also a Space Sharks! We are sure this wasn’t planned, but fans will love it!

Discovery Channel Shark Week 2024When Discovery Channel declared that Shark Week is coming, I sometimes pay attention. It all depends on who’s hosting, and this year, they have John Cena! While he can help me feel safe near the ocean, I still have to wait and give my thoughts after watching everything that’s available to scream at! My favourites are Expedition Unknown: Sharks vs Nazis, Alien Sharks: Ghosts of Japan and Makozilla. That’s because what’s presented gets mixed up with some local legends and urban myth. And as a bonus, Wild Eye Releasing has Space Sharks, and that was enough for me to tune in!

This sci-fi action thriller shows off enough cheesy action to even make me think about swimming in the oceans again instead of staying on land to cool off. That’s because these bio-engineered versions have taken to attacking the surface world rather than return to the dark depths whence they came. It’s a man versus nature movie that works, especially when these natural predators are given tech to allow them to kill a group of campers with impunity!

This budget film feels more like an extended music video, with the soundtrack playing more often than not. This synth track plays loudly to fill the non-talking set pieces, and even in the moments of dialogue, it overpowers what’s going on. Despite this problem, what’s presented is campier than 60s Batman, and is still a joy to view. That’s because certain talents, namely Eric Roberts, Mel Novak, Scott Schwartz, Vida Ghaffari, and Brinke Stevens valiantly give their all for this work.
