A Bubblegum Crisis and Crash is Available From MediaOCD!

The love I have for Bubblegum Crisis is rather obvious, and as for why upgrade, it’s worth it for Holiday in Bali, the live-action travel journal featuring the voice actresses.

Many older fans will still rave over Bubblegum Crisis, and have no problem buying a re-release as video technology improves. When the audio fidelity is amped up too, maybe one day a simulated concert experience is possible! Also, the 90s was an anime Renaissance which helped show to western audiences that this genre is unique. With the release of Bubblegum Crisis: The Complete Collection, I can say I got everything from my VHS and laser disc days gathered onto two compact discs. And there’s a 50-page booklet containing interviews and staff memories too! Although this is mostly text, I’m fine with that because I own the art books.

I started wanting the latter because of AnimEigo’s covers. They are a testament to how diverse my collection is and I got the latter album cover signed by Kenichi Sonada when he attended Emerald City Comic Con close to a decade ago! Although I missed getting the crowdfunded version of this latest release which had a special art book, I’m sure I could track down the Japanese version. But after meeting Sonada-san and asking for something complete different from others (to have him draw me anime style), it’s tough to top that!

When Shadows in the Desert: High Strangeness in the Borrego Triangle are Afoot, Who Are You Going to Call?

Just how many mysterious triangles exist? Besides the High Strangeness in the Borrego Triangle, I’ll present a list of other famous places too.

When not everyone knows where Shadows in the Desert: High Strangeness in the Borrego Triangle lay, perhaps it’s best to check those road maps! Thankfully, cryptozoology podcasters Derek Hayes (Monsters Among Us) and David Flora (Hysteria 51) know where it is, and I have to commend them for daring to do what others will not–to go camping overnight! Although this region of Southern California is not as famous as others, there’s still plenty of folklore attached.

As for whether they involve aliens or ghosts, just what’s said to lurk here is just as haunting. One of the first places they hit was Solano. Here, the residents had a lot to say, and with no surprise the first topic was Bigfoot! I shouldn’t be surprised, even though I wouldn’t expect this creature to frequent the Anza-Borrego Desert State Park region. I had to do some additional research, and mention the area stretches from Hemet to the Salton Sea and down to the US-Mexico border near Jacumba Hot Springs. Also, I imagine the chupacabra is also lurking nearby.

How Does Inside Out: Dream Productions Work? Quick Thoughts and A Review

The best part of Inside Out Dream Productions concerns looking at how they get manufactured. Sometimes it’s not just based on processing what is currently bugging Riley as she navigates her tween life!

Inside Out Dream ProductionsStreaming on Disney Plus

The big question I have about the Inside Out spinoff, Dream Productions, is where in Riley’s brain is this action taking place? When episode two revealed Rainbow Unicorn can appear in other people’s dreams, I’ve come up with the idea that some of these entities exist in a collective unconsciousness! Although I do not know if that was showrunner Mike Jones‘ idea too, the evidence is quite clear.

Plato calls this a Theory of Forms. In computer jargon, it’s called The Cloud. Officially, the word is “Universal Cloud Platform,” and that’s too long a word phrase to use. In this series, what’s suggested is that when people fall asleep, they enter this realm and experience dreams. This theory helps explain why this miniseries exist, and I hope more will be made because I’m enjoying this exploration into what makes each individual unique.

So Which Popular Artist/Illustrator, Do You Want “Story & Pictures By” Under the X-Mas Tree?

To fill in the blank in the documentary, Story & Pictures By, can be tough. That’s because to finish that phrase on who is best at crafting the perfect children’s picture book is difficult to answer.

Some folks might say the market for children’s picture books is dying, and I have to say no. What Story & Pictures By reveals is this type of publication continues to be popular and when educational content is attached, much more so! And unlike those works that I read growing up (Curious George), what’s different now is a better representation from a group of authors who say it’s better than ever! Christian Robinson, Yuyi Morales, and Mac Barnett are the focus on Joanna Rudnick‘s excellent documentary.

Also, balancing well-known past illustrators with current leading artists must have been a hard task for the filmmakers. The talents who stand out are those who illustrate their own work and will talk about what helped define them.

Who Needs John McClane when Kevin Hart Proves He Can Die Hart 3 Times Over?

There’s no need to watch Die Hard this Christmas. Instead, let’s enjoy Die Hart 3: Hart to Kill as a replacement for an all out action-adventure-comedy that’s sure to thrill. When J.K. Simmons is involved, there’s plenty to ho-ho-ho about!

Die Hart 3 Hart to Kill Promotional PosterKevin Hart has been through a lot since season one of his fictionalised life, and when this series is up to Die Hart 3, I’ll gladly tune in to watch what this actor is up to next!

To recap what happened before, this comedian wants a change of career, and wants to switch from being a comedian to that of an action-star. In season one, he learns the ropes, and the training he underwent was tough (review link)! Season Two shows him elevating that training so that he can be like Jackie Chan  (review link), and the stakes are a lot higher. Not only does he want to produce that movie but also, he wants top billing.

In this latest instalment, he’s now wanting to star in a serious drama. After getting laughed off stage with his work as a narrator for what looks like a nature documentary. And in order to do that, he’ll have to convince the renowned director, Jackson Pepper (J. K. Simmons), to give him the chance. However, this producer doesn’t think this actor has what it takes. Until he graduates from the Pepper School of Hard Knocks, nobody in Hollywood will take him seriously.
