Uncork’d Entertainment continues its love for outer space with Secret Space UFOS: Apollo 1 to 11 and the mysteries that they hope to uncover will be streamed April 2023. Darcy Weir is no stranger to the subject with his past works about UAPs. From Secret Space UFOs: NASA’s First Missions to Volcanic UFO Mysteries which we at otakunculture.com reviewed, what he reveals offers something regular series doesn’t always say.

From the Press Release:

The UFO phenomenon has been recorded far beyond the boundaries of Earth with hundreds of sightings during the Apollo missions 1-11. James Fox, Darcy Weir, Mike Bara and Richard Dolan discuss this hidden history of UFOs in space and structures on the Moon. A history of NASA’s early Apollo missions as astronauts endeavor to set foot on the moon and go further in space than any man has before.

“Another fascinating, eye-opening documentary from Darcy Weir, SECRET SPACE UFOs : APOLLO 1-11 is one of our most anticipated non-fiction releases for first quarter, 2023”, said Keith Leopard, President Uncork’d Entertainment. “You’ll be absolutely intrigued by the findings in this film, and what Fox, Weir, Bara and Dolan reveal.   The truth really is out there, it seems.”

Says Weir, “I have spent the greater part of the past decade researching Apollo era UFOs and anomalies reported by our NASA astronauts. With the help of fellow filmmaker James Fox (The Phenomenon), I was able to unpack an entertaining and profound experience regarding those early Apollo space missions.”

There’s a Different Kind of Alien Invasion with Organisms from an Ancient Cosmos

Organisms from an Ancient Cosmos is an alien invasion story that Hollywood doesn’t usually dream up.

Organisms from an Ancient Cosmos
Available to order on Amazon USA as a hardcover and Kindle/Comixology

Dark Horse Comics
Spoiler Alert

Release Date: November 23, 2022

When Organisms from an Ancient Cosmos appear on earth, the revelations will send humanity to where no man has gone before. That’s because the war is futile. That’s the gist I get from the huge first act by S. Craig Zahler, and to read through the second, that’s a movie in itself! This adult graphic novel, available in hardcover, has a lot to digest–pardoning the joke–as the Earth gets consumed by some biomechanical entity! And no government can figure out why this alien craft is here.

Sometimes we’re not humbled to know. Although this work doesn’t directly reference particular pop culture invasions like War of the Worlds, I feel there’s more to it in the sense of what the movie Independence Day revealed. The aliens are parasites, and they’ll wander the cosmos to find mineral rich planets to feast upon. My guess is that they’re as old as Galactus from the Marvel Comics Universe.

After the first attack, billionaire industrialist Carlton Land loses his wife and he wants revenge. Regarding what he learns from Biologist Aimee O’Donnell and USAAF Chief Scientist Kenneth Yamazaki is that they must do something else instead of continuing the fight.

It’s Hard to Say No to Watching Nope on Home Video Because…

The documentary included in the home video release of Jordan Peele’s Nope is definitely essential viewing to desconstruct what’s best about this film.

Nope Blu-ray
Available to purchase on Amazon USA

Spoiler Alert

When Jordan Peele’s take on alien invasion, UAPs, and animal mutilation, what can go wrong? The answer is that he won’t say Nope on what he believes is going on. In the back of my mind, I’m thinking his take may well reveal what’s going on that History Channel’s Secrets of Skinwalker Ranch is trying to uncover. Perhaps there is a sentience out there that wants to reveal itself, but it’s biding its time for when the time is right.

This filmmaker’s feature deals with more humane concerns, and it’s a rather long exposition. Despite the lengthy run time and build up to the confrontation, the scares he’s setting viewers up for are very satisfying and grim. Because this motion picture has to fully develop the characters. Any sense of whom the threat is—and what it represents as a wake-up call—doesn’t come until much later. His style is like M. Night Shyamalan’s, and the surprise is effectively good.

Thus, we can finally wonder if the Haywood family deserves their fate. Father is hurt, and the tale shifts to OJ (Daniel Kaluuya) and Emerald (Keke Palmer) attempting to save the farm from bankruptcy. Jupe (Steven Yeun) offers to help, but even has a past he can’t escape, and he’s the second banana who is helping the brother and sister team to deal with this alien threat.

Nostalgia, 16 Bit Communications and Unusual Findings. Everything An Alien Could love.

The Easter eggs contained in Unusual Findings are perfect! The 16-bit iconic posters, art, or something of the era are lovingly rendered.

Unusual Findings PosterAvailable on All Major Videogame Platforms

Epic Llama GamesUnusual Findings is a loving tribute to all things’ 80s, and this video game also shows what Netflix’s Stranger Things would be like had it been one. Here, you play as a group of boys (based on how far I got with the game, no girls join in) as they explore their town while looking for answers to a possible UFO crash nearby.

Even the soundtrack is similar. Thankfully, I’m sure no one is going to send lawyers after this developer. Also, I don’t think what’s composed here can be authentically recreated. The Commodore 64’s SID chip rivals some modern synths, but to do what this video game does requires some level of authenticity.

Much of the gameplay is determined by a simple point and click interface. A round option menu appears when you press the interact button. You can look at or blow on the item being stared at. Also, if you miss one part of the conversation, it won’t impede getting to the end. They provide clues on how to solve puzzles. It’ll also help hone a player’s logic and critical thinking skills.

E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial is 40-Years Old and Regarding Its Anniversary Re-Release!

In what shines are the two new featurettes. We have “40 Years of E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial,” an all new retrospective of the film, and “TCM Classic Film Festival’s An Evening with Steven Spielberg.”

The Extra-Terrestrial is 40-Years OldAlso playing at Victoria IMAX Oct 27-31.

It’s hard to believe E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial is 40-years old. This movie was developed hot after Close Encounters of a Third Kind, and to say it belongs in the same universe is a feasible fan theory. To say this has been confirmed isn’t in the new featurettes in this celebratory re-release, but I get the sense that Spielberg would be okay with it. He interest in UFOlogy may have been limited to these two films, but when we consider his War of the Worlds adaptation, the idea does fall apart.

Anyone who didn’t purchase the prior versions isn’t missing much. I could have picked up the 35th anniversary release, which had a 4K restoration, but I don’t always count this year as a seminal milestone. This latest release does one better, and it’s all in the two new featurettes made for this release. In terms of collectables, the ultimate set (available on Amazon USA) offers a collectible tin tote, thermos, booklet and Certificate of Authenticity for the die-hard collector to proudly display. Another release adds a Bendy Figs figurine for Walmart, and the Steelbook updates the art (Target). Anyone wanting either just needs to ask a friend in the States to buy or one can order online.

All the material from prior releases (deleted scenes, the evolution, and creation of E.T., and 20th anniversary premiere) are offered in this collection. The old content are:

Craig Charles Has 10 UFO Conspiracies. Truth or Fiction? Series in Review and Episode Guide

Craig Charles of Red Dwarf fame joins forces with astrophysicist and journalist Sarah Cruddas to look at UFO Conspiracies, past and present.

Craig Charles UFO ConspiraciesOn select Streaming Services

Craig Charles (Lister from Red Dwarf) wants to believe, but he can’t do it alone in UFO Conspiracies. There’s some humour involved in this investigative television show on Sky. He joins forces with astrophysicist and journalist Sarah Cruddas to look at various cases, past and present. What’s presented only reminds longtime ufologists about those cases of ongoing debate.

These two work in a makeshift office and don’t have field agents to report in. Instead, what this show offers is something akin to Fact or Faked. Maybe they’re in this bungalow because they fear the Men in Black are coming. The fact it’s “undisclosed” says something. Video cameras are everywhere, and they can be hacked into when they are computer networked machines. In the way this series is filmed, I suspect it’s partly scripted.

I admire the later episodes when the two hosts put together the puzzle pieces. It’s rare to find any paranormal reality programming that’s similar to Beyond the Series. Their investigation into the Phoenix Lights is perhaps the best, since it offers material I do not recall presented elsewhere. To my knowledge, not even Ancient Aliens went into the depth as they did concerning who had seen these UAPs up close.
