When PBS’ NOVA Tries to Explain “What Are UFOs?” We Should Pay Attention!

Although one-third of the episode is repeating old information, the final third is worth paying attention to for the public to help UFOlogists study What Are UFOs? 

NOVA What Are UFOs? General PosterWhen America’s most beloved popular science television program decides it’s time to deal with the UFO phenomenon, a lot of viewers are going to take notice. That’s because the answer to “What Are UFOs?” actually offers a few bits of information that’s absolutely new to me, and the 50-minute program is not simply regurgitating information that’s already well known to Ufologists.

The December 2024 timestamp on the most recent footage surprised even me. I notice that much information in television productions is usually outdated by broadcast time. Sometimes, the footage doesn’t make it to the mainstream until years later. Cellphone footage is difficult to validate, but the producers’ prompt action shows they take this subject seriously.

While the program’s first third covers familiar material, it successfully acquaints newcomers with the phenomenon’s beginnings and explains the preference for using “Unidentified Aerial Phenomena” (UAP) over the old term. And to recap the incident that really catapulted interest and put “closure” to the Roswell incident, even I’m skeptical. That’s because while Project Mogul is a plausible explanation, there’s still the question if aliens bodies were also found.

Before Crazy Alien 2 Arrives In Theatres, Perhaps It’s Best To See The Original First

Sometimes silly comedies top the list on what to see this Chinese New Year, and Crazy Alien fits the bill well.

Crazy Alien (2019) Movie PosterWhen first contact goes horribly wrong, it’ll be up to the wrong people to save the world. That’s the hope in Crazy Alien. This Chinese film came out in 2019 during Chinese New Year and the reason I’m looking at this work is that the sequel is due during this year’s celebrations!

That’s because, according to GlobalTimes.cn, “Comedic films, a staple for the New Year season, are set to entertain audiences during the New Year’s Day holiday with titles such as domestic films Honey Money Phony and Hot Pot Artist, and British animated film Paddington in Peru.”

But when I have my list on what to see, I have to begin by looking back. Here, Huang Bo is the star, and unlike his other works which received limited release in America (He loved his work in Creation of the Gods I: Kingdom of Storms as Jing Ziya), I needed more! This jack of all trades in the Chinese film industry is a talent to pay attention to, and when he’s partnered with Shen Teng in this comedy, I see good things. They’re not like any traditional comedic double act. In China, the word used is Xiangsheng–a genre of its own!

Guerrilla UFOlogists Better Look Out! In The Next Aliens Uncovered Exists The Land of Legends….

If you have seen none of Clive Christopher’s other Aliens Uncovered documentaries, then there’s really no order in what to watch first. He’ll continue to look at cases not usually explored on Discovery/Travel Channel.

Clive Christopher is a Guerrilla style filmmaker looking for a connection between what the indigenous people of Arizona are saying about visitors from the skies, and the information presented in Aliens Uncovered: The Land of Legends is rather fascinating. It is about time we get a look at this world, and I suspect watching this together with UFOs over Arizona and Buried Cities & Lost Tribes paints a bigger picture than this latest alone.

While this work mentions this tribal connection in the first segment, that’s as far as this documentary will go. Apparently, one of the earliest first contacts occurred at Camp Navajo and it doesn’t concern ancient aliens! Although much of what happened remains top secret, enough whistleblowers provided information to create this latest entry to the series. Artificial intelligence video rendered much of this segment, and though the animation style has an alien feel because I feel the technology for realism isn’t there, I suspect Christopher intentionally wanted to give this segment that otherworldly feel.

Fans of Richard A. Hamilton’s work in the graphic novel front will be thrilled to read Tectiv Vol. 1: Noirtopia, a new series about Bingo Finder looking at lost texts to inspire her to search for her missing best friend. But to solve this mystery, this young lady must fight for her own life and uncover a conspiracy within this fragile civilization.

Reading the preview offered through Google Books shows this author knows the genre completely, and he brings readers into the world like they’ve very lived in. The way the characters come alive is fantastic, and in what I sensed from Finder, she’s discovered the Library of Alexandria! Well, the place isn’t big, but that’s the sense of awe I got when looking at those pages illustrated by Marco Matrone.

I’ve always enjoyed everything Hamilton brings to any world, whether it’s from another creator’s work or not. Where he shines the most is when he gets to develop his own universe!

The Good Ol’ Boys and Girls Are Feuding in Alien Country, It’s Just A Hoot and a Hollar!

When Utah is more known for its barren landscape than its lush pine forests, this state can be Alien Country for those UAPs often seen high in the sky.

It should come as no surprise that UFOs seen in the State of Utah are more visible than elsewhere. It should be known as Alien Central than Alien Country–the title of this film. Whether that’s because it’s where free famous ecological landmarks converge–The Rocky Mountains, the Great Basin, and the Colorado Plateau–or something else, it seems the fictional town of Blue River is the focus. In this film directed by Boston McConnaughey, I get the sense he wanted to deal more with the rednecks drama going on here than the aliens, which are often kept away at arms length until those moments matter.

That’s because of the drama that’s happening between Jimmy (K.C. Clyde) and Everly (co-writer Renny Grames), whose on-again/off-again relationship is very front and centre. She’s pregnant, and he can’t figure out what she wants. When she wants to make it big as a singer-songwriter, all he cares about is to survive the next crash and burn. Also, he has abandonment issues. His father disappeared when he was young.

These days, he’s a demolition derby driver and considering he’s putting his life at risk every-day, I’m sure his girlfriend wants him to change careers. It took a while for me to get invested in their drama, but once that’s in place, that’s when the fun starts. They accidentally open a portal to some world, and when the aliens come busting out, it’s up to them to save their town from this invasion! The Superstition Mountains is certainly a place of mystery, and in Aliens Uncovered Portal Encounters, the 12th episode of a 15 film run, what’s unearthed concerns folklore more so than anything else! Here, the focus is about why people go missing and the search for Lost Dutchman’s Gold Mine! That’s because some people theorise the metal is required for achieving faster than light travel.

One day, maybe someone from the U.S. military will open up and explain why they patrol these places. They are policing them because “There are more things in heaven and earth, Horatio, than are dreamt of in your philosophy.” There are organisations who think the world is not ready for what’s lurking across that gateway, and perhaps they are doing what’s best for humanity.
