Hasbro USA Wants Someone To Design Transformers!

Transformers Robots in Disguise Title CardHave you ever looked at a Transformer and thought you could design better, before digging out LEGO building blocks to make your own? Just me? Well if you have designed Transformers before by using pencil on paper, a computer program, or even LEGO (as I did) then this is a job you shouldn’t pass up. Hasbro has a posting on their website that they are looking for a Product Designer for their Transformers line. The competition is likely to be fierce but would one really pass on the chance for such a job even if landing it is in the small percentile? You never know, you could be the next Hisashi Yuki.

Michael Bay is one of the hardest working directors and in an exclusive interview with Rolling Stone at his Miami home, Bay found free time to discuss his as of yet untitled Transformers 5 project and his latest Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles:

Between his producing duties and directorial work, Bay usually has a half-dozen projects going at once. Right now, in addition to 13 Hours, he’s doing post-production on the next Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, which he’s producing and which is due in 2016, and pre-production for the next Transformers, which he’s directing for summer 2017. “I’m doing Transformers … 5, is it?” Bay says, temporarily losing track. He shakes his head. “I’ve taken on a lot of work.”

After Bay demonstrates to Stone journalist Josh Eells how he prefers to do colour timing, Santa Monica’s Industrial Light and Magic (ILM) appears on a computer monitor,

YouTube has to be the best part of the internet ever. The fact that you can not only watch movies and television shows from childhood but discover interesting new concepts using those old shows makes YouTube more diserable to watch then TV.

Take these short films from animator Richard Sargent for example. Sargent uses animated backgrounds and voice tracks from Sunbow’s Transformers TV series and mixes in Takara-Tomy and Hasbro‘s Transformers from the Masterpiece line. Called Masterpiece REAnimated, Sargent offers up a unique product that is rough yet entertaining.

By Ed Sum (The Vintage Tempest)

The next chapter in the Transformers saga is set to arrive on DVD October 20th, courtesy of Shout! Factory Kids and Hasbro. Transformers: Robots in Disguise follows after the events of Transformers: Prime, and with the focus on Bumblebee, viewers can learn about whether he has what it takes to become a leader like Optimus Prime.

This little yellow vehicle who could seems to have difficulty with accepting the fact that he’s now a leader. One aspect of this series’ charm is in seeing him trying to find that catch phrase that improves upon what Optimus Prime, who makes cameo appearances, often says. Bee has to lead a rag-tag team on Earth looking for escaped Deception prisoners.

What’s Next for Transformers: Robots in Disguise? A Review

Hasbro’s Transformers certainly has evolved throughout the years. Ever since Generation One, this franchise is no longer just an animation for kids. It’s grown from not just simply being a marketing ploy to sell toys. Rainmaker (formerly Mainframe) Entertainment’s Beast Wars was the first to shift this franchise’s direction into a sophisticated world that many fans, including myself, enjoyed. The character dynamics and brooding personalities featured helped keep interest in this franchise alive.

Not everyone took to Transformers: Animated right away, and to skip ahead to Transformers: Prime, I especially loved the darker tone the storytelling went. No matter how small of a success the Autobots made, something sinister would emerge. Optimus had hope, and he believed everything his team did could help light their darkest hour.
