PassCode, the all-female dance and vocal group, gained attention when they got selected to perform the opening theme song for the second season of the TV anime SHY, which started airing in Japan this month. One week later, this track is now available on digital platforms! Fans can enjoy “Willshine” as a single ahead of its physical release.

Newcomers can check out the first season of this science fiction drama on Crunchyroll. This series is novel enough where some superheroes’ names exhibit the same emotional trait as their namesake, and while they’re supposed to prevent another global conflict, can they overcome their own weakness? With Shy as the lead, that’s going to be tough! People have compared this series to My Hero is Academia and if you enjoy that series, you will enjoy this one! This anime is based on the manga of the same name.

Shy Manga CoverThis song was first revealed at the sold-out event “PassCode presents VERSUS PASSCODE 2024 Vol.2” at Shibuya Spotify O-EAST, where it enthralled the audience as an emotional, full-throttle pop anthem. Be sure to check it out!

With Archie Comic’s Release of The Cult of that Wilkin Boy: Initiation O.S. Beware What You Reap!

There’s more chapters to be told regarding where The Cult of that Wilkin Boy is headed in its Faustian Journey to the afterlife, and what’s being slowly revealed will have many anxiously waiting for more one-shot releases.

The Cult of that Wilkin BoyArchie Comics
Now available in comic book stores near you.

The Cult of that Wilkin Boy has made more than a simple a pact with the daemonic, and just how many sultans he’s sold his soul to may well get answered in future instalments. Unlike the comics of yore, where he’s just a musician from Midville and simply sees him in slice of life narratives like Archie Andrews (of Archie Comics fame), “The Cult of that Wilkin Boy: Initiation O.S.” is imbued with Southern USA folklore and perhaps some other hoodoo that I’m not aware of.

Whether it concerns blues music and Voodoo, or it’s regarding some other aspect of cheating to get fame, what’s presented is perfect. Cullen Bunn expands the narrative from last year’s release to reveal what’s happened to Bingo Wilkin since. He was a musician who hung up the microphone and became a record producer. He’ll search for new talents to help mould to become the next superstar, and as for whether they’re safe from the devil in the blue suede shoes, that’s a detail I’m still uncertain about.

Slash is Back with Orgy of the Damned, and a Look at the Making of 4

After Making of 4 and Orgy of the Damned, just what will Slash the auteur will dream of next has me excited!

slash is pure goldAnyone who doesn’t know Gibson as a guitar maker, will get to discover them as a documentary producer with the Making of 4, available to freely view on YouTube (and also Slash’s latest album Orgy of the Damned). The Gibson Films label is official, and while this work is no different from the other videos on this streaming channel, what’s offered shows higher production values and even bigger names getting involved in this venture. Some of my favourite musicians use Gibson guitars, and their signature sound really makes a different. From the classic years, I’d say Chuck Berry helped make this instrument iconic. And as a Blues music aficionado, I have to mention that Robert Johnson’s most famous photo sees him holding an L-1 Acoustic.

This feature length work takes viewers into a look back at how Slash put together his band, why he continues touring, and what Myles Kennedy & The Conspirators (SMKC) feel while on stage with this legend. I’d say he’s the face of Gibson back when GnR was still together. After parting ways with this band (and returning), he formed other groups to collaborate with to keep on rocking. After working with this particular crew for over a decade across four albums, we see what they’ve been up to during the pandemic years. These recordings (edited to music video standard) represent their best tracks! Although I wanted to know more about Myles and the group, what’s presented is a fair balance between them and who Slash is before taking up the guitar.

It’s More Than Funk with Muque’s Latest ‘desert’ Single

Muque’s latatest album features artwork from Give Me! Tomotaka, a character designer whose work is really world renonwned.

Muque Cartoon CoverJust how unique Japanese band muque (pronounced “muku”) is depends on whether you like hip hop funk or not. They have just released a new song, ‘desert,’ which brings more acoustic to tech, and if you like new wave, it’s a tune to listen on the radio–or digital airwaves as they’re broadcast today!

This four-piece band featuring members Asakura (vocals and guitar), Lenon (bass), takachi (track making and drums) and Kenichi (guitar) is a relatively young bang. They formed in 2022 and are based out of Fukuaka. Their sound is mostly arranged by takachi, who says he combines what he likes from American and British music into a crazy fusion.

Released a year before the 40th anniversary, The Greatest Night in Pop (Music) shows why 80s musicians matter!

The Greatest Night in Pop PosterAvailable to View on Netflix

The story of how the song “We Are The World” was made is sweetly told in the documentary, The Greatest Night in Pop. With this retrospective, viewers can finally learn about the challenges in getting the huge, diverse crew of talents together. When it all started with the song released in the UK, “Do They Know It’s Christmas” we mustn’t forget about the follow up acts like Live-Aid and the impact that had for famine relief too. As for why it all happened mid 80s, that’s up to musical historians and socioligists to debate.

The Full Length Cut of CHEMY×STORY is now out for Kamen Rider Gotchard fans to Hip Hop To

Just how two boy-band groups like BACK-On and FLOW got to gether is rather simple, and they got some words to say about the full length lrelease of their hit song, CHEMY×STORY.

CHEMY×STORY Back-on x FLOW coverThe theme song of Kamen Rider Gotchard is now available as a single, and the groups BACK-ON and FLOW could not be any happier. Fans can delight in hearing the feature length cut of CHEMY×STORY! This track replaces the previous version, which was used since September of last year, and this take is quite the update!

Although this latest entry of the Kamen Rider franchise is about sixteen episodes in, it’s safe to say Shout! Studios will eventually pick this up for release in international markets.

This song is available to stream at the following sites through this portal:

From the Press Release:

“The story in Gotchard is filled with twists and turns, and this seemed like the perfect timing to add a surprise twist to the opening theme song as well. We thought of this band as soon as this project first came along, and we wanted to go further than all the ‘Rider’ collaborations of the past, so we crashed through the boundaries to bring this track to life!” said the band BACK-ON.
