[Victoria, BC] Cherry Bomb Toy’s Museum Goals Revealed!

Proprietors Biagio and Candice Woodward of Cherry Bomb Toys have big plans for expanding their business and Victoria’s tourism industry. Not only do they want to create a proper toy museum and arcade, but also bring back some of the nostalgia that made this city great. That means honouring the operations from long ago like Tony’s Trick & Joke Shop and the Royal London Wax Museum.

“We’re basically tired of seeing Victoria businesses empty,” says Biagio, “One of the things we thought: how can we make things better? What can we do as a business to increase the number of people coming downtown to shop, if not to stop from going to the malls? How do we get people from all around the world to want to come here?”

Trying to Understand the Theories Behind Interstellar, An Analysis and Movie Review

Interstellar is one of those almost perfect films if it were not for a few nagging logistical problems. When crops are failing and various other food sources have become scarce, the only real hope is for everyone to leave the planet and colonize a new world. The only problem is where? The space-faring technology is nowhere near advanced enough to transport an entire population en masse to a new location. Even even bigger problem is how long it will take for transplanted society to redevelop?

Astrophysics professor Brand (Michael Caine) has a few ideas, and when Cooper (Matthew McConaughey), a former NASA test pilot / engineer turned farmer, stumbles upon his secret installation, a grand plan is set in motion. He is to travel deep into space to validate the existence of some planets that a previous mission has discovered to see if they are habitable. Curiously, they float all too dangerously near a black hole.

The Future is Bright for Big Hero 6, A Movie Review

Disney_BigHero6_Poster_BaymaxNot everyone will realize that Disney’s Big Hero 6 is based on a lesser known Marvel Comics property from 1998. The print edition was originally created by Steven T. Seagle and Duncan Rouleau, and they crafted a product that does not seem like it’s inspired from anime. The names are familiar, like Gogo to Golgo 13 and Honey Lemon to Cream Lemon. Thankfully there is no relationship to the latter comparison when considering it is an erotic product. If the executives of this company have known, they might not have approved this film’s go-ahead, or the roster of heroes that Hiro Hamada (voiced by Ryan Potter) managed to put together.

When considering that this CGI film premiered at the Tokyo International Film Festival on October 23, 2014, there were probably more than a few snickers within the audience.

Ash Returns to fight the Evil Dead on Television!

Just when fans think Bruce Campbell won’t return to play the seminal Ash from Evil Dead, think again! According to theWrap, premium television network Starz has green lit the adaptation of this cult classic. Sam Raimi, Rob Tapert and Bruce Campbell are set to return to the small screen in Ash vs the Evil Dead and just what new antics will occur will be up to writers Sam Raimi, Ivan Raimi and Tom Spezialy.

This program is set to debut sometime in 2015.

“Evil Dead has always been a blast. Bruce, Rob, and I are thrilled to have the opportunity to tell the next chapter in Ash’s lame, but heroic saga,” Raimi said via press release. “With his chainsaw arm and his ‘boomstick,’ Ash is back to kick some monster butt. And brother, this time there’s a truckload of it.”

IMAX Cinemas Treat Fans with an Interstellar Poster

Audiences planning on going to see Christopher Nolan’s Interstellar at IMAX cinemas this weekend will be treated to a limited edition collector print designed by Gallery 1988 artist Kevin Dart. Supplies will be limited, but for poster aficionados, this 12×16 one-sheet is certainly very nice to look at.

When this artist has done work for COSMOS: A Spacetime Odyssey, perhaps he had some insight as to what to create for this exclusive. To contrast the lone farm with that of the rocket suggests that humanity may well be alone in the universe. Community is important, but until collectors see the film, just what this image means is deceptive.

That also includes what IMAX’s plans are for their incentive program. Is Fanfix gone? The answer is most likely yes as their marketing arm looks to appease more movie goers than limit it to those going to first shows on a Thursday night.

Maya the Bee Movie Buzzes into North America 2015!

Maya the Bee Movie will be buzzing into young North American hearts in 2015 thanks to Shout! Factory. This diminutive character perhaps became very popular due in part to the Japanese animation of the same name back in 1975. Since then it has been translated to many languages for airings in other countries. An updated CGI version returned to its fictional roots by animation production company Studio 100 in 2012. This series run lasted for 78 episodes and a film followed afterwards. Both are based on the book of the same name by German children’s author, Waldemar Bonsels.
