When Z2 Comics Offers The Blues Brothers: The Escape Of Joliet Jake, and Unreleased Recordings!

Fans of the Blues Brothers will want to make sure they’ll catch the Katy this time, because there’ll be music to accompany this graphic novel release.

The Blues Brothers: The Escape of Joliet JakeA day that changed comedy forever. With the release of The Blues Brothers, John Belushi and Dan Aykroyd unleashed a film that would thrill and entertain generations with their Mission From God. Now, exactly 45 years later, Z2 Comics has partnered with the Aykroyd and Belushi families and estate to deliver the sequel to that film in the original graphic novel,  The Blues Brothers: The Escape Of Joliet Jake.

Uncovered by the late Judy Belushi Pisano, this series of unreleased recordings is a rare musical glimpse at Joliet Jake and Elwood Blues at the height of their blues powers. Belushi and Aykroyd blast through a 13-song set with some of the greatest musicians who ever lived. The gang’s all here, as Blues Brothers legends Matt “Guitar” Murphy, Steve “The Colonel” Cropper, Donald “Duck” Dunn, Paul “The Shiv” Shaffer, Lou “Blue Lou” Marini, Tom “Bones” Malone, Alan “Mr. Fabulous” Rubin, Steve “GETDWA” Jordan, and Tom “Triple Scale” Scott show why this band is timeless.

The album features unheard versions of blues classics including “Hey Bartender,” “Rubber Biscuit,” and “Green Onions.” This album will be available exclusively as a Royal Blue-colored vinyl release, packaged with the graphic novel.

“The Hobby” Explored: On Why Modern Board Games Captivate Millions

Although Simon Ennis’s The Hobby explores some aspects of modern board gaming, what’s offered is more so about the people who are dedicated to it rather than the history.

The Hobby by Simon Ennis Movie PosterNot to be confused with the documentary with the same name directed by Morgan Jon Fox and released in the same year, The Hobby by Simon Ennis looks at the phenom of modern board gaming. The introduction quickly reveals the origins of board games: apparently, one of the very first games dates back to Babylonian times, and it was simply known as the Royal Game of Ur.

Flash forward a few decades, and in Egypt, Senet earned widespread popularity. Had this feature-length examination had focused on the past, I would still find tracing its history just as fascinating as the look at the present.

This work examines the motivations behind why certain individuals go above and beyond in pursuit of their passions. Mind you, Irving Finkel–the individual who starts off this film–is a hoot, and he almost steals the show. Only a third of the other passionate souls interviewed reveal their first time playing and what they talk about more is in what keeps them going. When I looked at some games like Arkham Horror, these rules heavy products are just that. To micromanage on top can be daunting. However, for those youths getting introduced to easier games, they may even get a heads-up in developing their people and cognitive skills.

The Animated Selections of Fantasia 2025 Guide

When this year’s slate of animated films is terrific, perhaps it’s time to travel to Quebec for Fantasia 2025!

Fantasia 2025 Movie PosterFantasia 2025 will soon be here, and this year looks very promising because of its animation slate. I always gravitate to this section since the films are often quick to continue playing at other events and head to distribution faster than the live-action works. Plus, when instant fans of the first entry in this list can see it even without attending, the presence is more than feline.

That’s because I’m a cat enthusiast. And when Takashi Miike is involved, just what’s offered may well top what last year’s Night of the Zoopocalypse did! This particular film (movie review link) did not screen at Fantasia, but I’m sure it would have been a contender had it finished post-production. Without further ramblings, I offer a list of feature length animated works to look forward to at this event at Montreal, Quebec.

Once when the event releases its full guide, I’ll also offer a top ten picks on what to see too.

Two of South Korea’s Hottest Kpop Acts Will Stream as Video Concerts on Well GO USA’s Network

Two huge kpop video concerts are coming to digital this week! After watching demon hunters, some newcomers may well want to visit the real deal!

well go usaAfter watching Kpop Demon Hunters (movie review link), I had to revisit this scene to look at today’s hottest acts. While what’s presented is a fairly good look under a global lens, but I wanted songs that are more rooted rather than be another broadway musical. This week, Well GO USA will soon deliver video concerts Taeyong: Ty Track In Cinemas and Aespa: World Tour In Cinemas. Both are today’s biggest stars in South Korea. The former loves to rap, and the latter helped popularize hyper-pop.

Lee Tae-yong (이태용) is a singer, songwriter, and dancer. As the lead of NCT, a boy band managed by SM Entertainment, his fame grew as moved up the ranks. Record labels create and manage most of these bands; as for how they discover talents is almost like living that Hollywood dream of yesteryears. SM Entertainment trained Taeyong in their rookie project, and they selected him to be today’s face of this group because of his charisma and leadership. When considering how this film presentation opens with him talking about where he came from, this rags-to-riches story is a lot more engaging than the concert itself!

When PIXAR’s Elio is Wishing Upon A Star. Does He Know Who He Is?

The question of what Elio can become depends on where he can fit in.

Elio Movie PosterAlthough PIXAR’s latest film, Elio, doesn’t quite soar to the heights of the studio’s earlier space-set stories, its heart is undeniably in the right place. The film follows a young boy (voiced by Yonas Kibreab) grappling with loneliness after the loss of his parents. Isolated at school and barely bonding with his overworked aunt, Elio retreats into daydreams of the stars—until one night, fantasy becomes reality.

Rather than face military camp, he sends a hopeful message into space, only to be abducted by aliens who hilariously misinterpret his call as an official message from Earth’s leader. The setup is absurd in the best way, and kicks off a cosmic misadventure through a bizarre intergalactic council known as the Communiverse.

Riding the Crazy Train With Railgods of Hysterra’s Latest Update

Although not every issue in Railgods of Hysterra has been fixed, whether or not it’s playable depends on whether enthusiasts have having a 75″ sized screen or bigger.

Railgods of Hysterra Video Game PosterBecause RailGods of Hysterra is missing one major fix, I haven’t enjoyed this cooperative survival game. That’s mostly because of the tiny text used throughout the game to identify objects, tell gamers what’s happening, etc. While I appreciate all the world-building that exists, not even after more than a month’s worth of casual play got me far. My original review can be read here. When this game is about making sure you catch the Katy, er, that sentient train and leave a mule to ride.

The latest updates (as of May 18, 2025, which appears to be the most recent significant patch noted):
