Thoughts on the Best Super Bowl Sunday Movie Trailers

Out of the 10 Super Bowl Sunday Movie Trailers and 2 TV spots, we give our thoughts on the best ones that got us excited for the film thsmelves!

Super Bowl Sunday Movie TrailersMost regular film previews can last up to two minutes, but that’s provided you’re seeing them in theatres. Unfortunately, all of the Super Bowl Sunday movie trailers satisfies this criteria. The Flash is its own independent entry than make the list because I thought, “Didn’t I see this before?”

I’ll have to watch my home video release of the television series’ first season to verify if the house is indeed the same architecture, and check if that version of Barry Allen reacted the same way when witnessing his mom’s death. The interior of that home might have been reused, and aside from that, we learn Batman will be key to this adaptation of Flashpoint. His role may well save an otherwise maybe doomed film.

I’ve watched the television and animated interpretations; they are satisfying takes, but I doubt everyone is as much of a DC junkie as I am. The studio has no qualms redoing some storylines across different entertainment mediums and I’m okay with that! Originally, I did not want to give this film any chance because I’m not fond of Ezra Miller’s off camera behaviour; but it seems his performance in the film has merit. Whether this film is in my top three isn’t subject to debate.

The films I do recommend (along with their respective short cinematic teaser from IGN.com) are:

65

This prehistorical sci-fi movie suggests man will turn into a predator when their spaceship crash lands on a planet inhabited by dinosaurs. I doubt they are in peril by much, but when we’re dealing with giant reptiles, any concept is bound to be good. Plus, when Adam Driver is the star, it’ll be great to see him be a threat at a whole different level!

Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 3

I like to know if James Gunn is both a Marvel Comics and DC fanboy when considering this film may be his last for Disney. Now that he’s head of DC’s creative team for this universe’s reboot, I doubt he’ll be making time for his former employer. Whatever the case, it doesn’t matter.

In this proper movie trailer, we learn about what must transpire since the last film. They find Gamora, but she’s not the same woman as before. There are a few seconds with the new super soldiers, namely Adam Warlock and High Evolutionary, and even more humour where Chris Pratt flirts with Nebula.

Here, nearly every Guardian has a kin that they have to save. Rocket has a sibling who’s also being genetically manipulated. Anyone who’s seen the animated series will recognise this story. In what I loved from this is in how Groot has grown some extra arms. It’s a blink, and you’ll miss it a moment.

Transformers: Rise of the Beast

The big question I have here is that where’s Hound’s shoulder mounted rocket launcher/emitter? The focus on introducing this latest robot in disguise is great, and he looks like the perfect companion to the next human to find the robots in disguise. This tease also suggests a similiar concept as the last movie, Bumblebee and this style of direction is perhaps what we need to reignite interest in the live action films.
