LEGO Jurassic Park and Where to Find those Dinos

There’s new toy sets coming for this extension to the LEGO Jurassic Park brand.

LEGO Jurassic Park 30th Anniversary Sets - All box artAlthough the LEGO Group revealed five new playsets as part of the 30th anniversary of the original Jurassic Park movie a while ago, what’s next in other media fronts remains unknown. Instead of reporting this news right away, I was hoping for additional news about the LEGO Jurassic Park license before saying anything, but alas nothing has been announced.

I’m a huge fan of the animated series which is a follow up of the original trilogy and every month or so, I binge watch the silliness that goes on. This particular licensed IP debuted in 2015 as a video game from TT Fusion, and I just chuckle at the thought of LEGO dinosaurs tearing brick buildings up during their rampage.

In the meantime, I’ll be eying the following playsets that will be available to purchase on June 1, 2023.

Is LEGO Jurassic World Finished? Legend of Isla Nublar and Double Trouble

According to NickALive these episodes will eventually hit Peacock Kids on YouTube. I suspect a world tour is happening for this “movie,” before we find these babies finally settle down–either as a complete home video release or otherwise. Good things come who wait, otherwise fans will surely go on a rampage!

Jurassic WorldLego Jurassic World: Legend of Isla Nublar is a superb non canonical prequel to the film. The plotting is right up there with Star Wars: The Freemakers and I liked the salutary lessons included in how to respect the animal kingdom. Also, this series makes the reptiles more intelligent than we take them for (when compared to the live-action). The Raptors understand Owen; it’s nice to see how his handling of them progressed from this show to the live action.

Knowing the prior special, The Secret Exhibit, is a must. Owen thought what he was employed for was a one-off job, but the attraction is with the girl instead of the island paradise. We see how he found his motorcycle, and it’s these nods that I truly appreciated.

Both series are currently available on Netflix. As for what’s next, the series is jumping ship to other networks to say dinosaurs are not dead. They’re just confused.

The Mind Games Behind Jurassic World, A Movie Review

Jurassic World Movie PosterJurassic World shows that nobody has learned from the mistakes made 22 years ago. After the “initial incident” of dinosaurs gone wild, the species known as Homo sapiens still think of themselves as homo superior. And in this sequel’s case, courting the prehistoric world and continuing to engage genetic engineering are a bad idea. Although John Hammond has long since passed, the people who have taken over (namely Simon Masrani) have finally managed to convert the island of Isla Nublar into a resort that resembles Disney World.

InGen is the corporation who is in charge and their ingenious idea to hybridise dinosaurs in order to create new species is not without scrutiny. Owen (Chris Pratt), a dinosaur wrangler, knows that can lead to trouble. When he has problems of his own in dictating the rules of who is the king, not even the handful of raptors he’s managed to train are above rebelling.
