The Worlds Divide is Esluna’s Next Exciting Chapter Ready for the International Stage!

It’s rare to find a world that’s as rich as Esluna, and in The Worlds Divide, what viewers learn is how it all began. After it’s international debut at the most prestigious celebration of all things animation, it’ll be hitting film festivals worldwide.

Dad has gone missing in The Worlds Divide. And if he’s not found in time, the world of Esluna may not continue existing. Anyone who’s followed this epic tale will be in for a treat. Here, it’s always about people wanting to discover the purpose of various technological relics that’s scattered around this realm, and it’s about time this entry is putting things together.

Following a preview at Spark! Film Festival, this latest work by Denver Jackson is making its proper world debut at the Annecy. I’ve interviewed him when he was still producing this film, and as a result, I firmly believe this filmmaker’s sense of how to present an epic is better thought out than all of Disney’s Star Wars cinematic releases put together. That is, unlike how various producers keep on changing what The Force represents; here, it concerns what secrets the Monolith contains!

Chang’An, A City in Turmoil. It Was The Best of Times and Worst of Times.

For now, the movie Chang’an is available to purchase online via eBay or YesAsia as a Region 3 release until North American distributor Niu Vision Media figures out what to do.

Chang'An Movie Bluray R3“The Times They Are A-Changin’” is a song that should be used if a dub of Chang’an ever gets released to North American Market. Its lyrics are perfect, but if that does not work, I’d suggest David Bowie’s song,“Changes,” to the distributor involved in editing. While it’s doubtful the Chinese producers would approve of it, I’d get the reference since this movie concerns how the capital of Shaanxi Province would undergo shifts in political power. This city is also known as Xi’an, and it’s historically significant because it was the original beating heart of a unified China.

All of it is the backdrop for the rather ambitious animated film by Lightchaser Studios. This work not only recounts the historical events that transpired but also tries to figure out the relationship two famous poets had as rebellions took place around them. They were sometimes involved in it and other times not.

Could There Be A New Series in the Works with Sorce: Birth of Echo?

Readers of young adult fiction might want to explore what Sorce: Birth of Echo entails as it concerns a teen hearing voices in his head.

Sorce: Birth of Echo Book CoverRelease Date: June 25th, 2024

Encyclopocalypse Publications, known for B-movie film novelizations, horror fiction, and nonfiction, will release it’s first young adult novel by new author Casey Truly. Sorce: Birth of Echo is a thrilling adventure mixing epic fantasy with science fiction. A preview of this book’s first chapter can be found at this author’s webpage, and what’s presented is a style rarely used–it’s a tale told using the first person point of view!

From the Press Release:

While others have been working and studying hard for the coming semester at Sirrus, a college where students learn to master the mystical powers of the Sorce, Charlie has neglected his two best-friends and spent most of his time with his girlfriend, Laurie.

Now, two years later, in the midst of trying to reconnect with those ol pals and and making new ones, Charlie finds there’s a growing shadow that follows him. It’s a voice in his head that isn’t his own. When that sound is something sinister by nature that wants him to kill, he better know where his moral compass is! This conspiracy will involve him and the ones he loves in an adventure, that’s hopefully not too Harry Potter.

Just what’s going on in the bowels of this college and with a man who once attended this post secondary institution will no doubt concern who lives and died within this space. It’s an adventure that Charlie may not survive, and wouldn’t that be a twist?

Paperback pre-orders in the USA are available through
encyclopocalypse.com. All direct pre-orders, including
the eBook, will ship 2 weeks prior to release date.

Going Behind the Scenes with The Creation of the Gods in Chinese Lore

The look behind how The Creation of the Gods 1: Kingdom of Storms is made defines why this home video release is vital.

The Creation of the Gods is going to be an epic trilogy when it all comes out, and in the meantime, fans of Chinese mythology can marvel at part one, titled Kingdom of Storms at home. The video is beautifully crisp and colour saturation in par with the film version I saw many moons ago, and to be able to pause and take breathers between chapters was heartily welcomed. Had there been a 4K release, I’m sure the flaws can be seen a mile away. Not all of the effects are immaculate and require a bit of suspension of belief (like setting the characters riding on a horse on fire during an early scene).

Also, to learn about the behind the scenes, there’s four featurettes made to reveal how this film was put together. From makeup to set designs to special effects and onset lighting, the gambit is well covered.

The Tiger’s Apprentice Mewling Roar. Looking into the Bold Differences.

Just what viewers can learn from The Tiger’s Apprentice is buried in a fairly standard monomyth. Had there been more emphasis on this aspect of the narrative, this work could have roared.

The Tiger's Apprentice DVD CaseNow Available to purchase on Amazon USA (DVD)

Raman Hui‘s attempt to adapt the novel, The Tiger’s Apprentice, to become a possible new animated franchise sort of works. When it’s supposed to look at Chinese folk beliefs, what’s shown feels quite light. It lacks that sense of wonder which Light Chaser Animation‘s works excels at. The differences is well explored with the home video release due to the bonus content, and although this film has its heart in the right place, I wished it could’ve done more with why Ming yun (destiny) matters.

Tom Lee (Brandon Soo Hoo) must be ready to become the next guardian and when he’s not even sixteen yet, the force determined to kill him must do so before the coming of every Lunar New Year. Most people know that a select group of animals represent each lunar cycle, and I get the sense that Loo (Michelle Yeoh) is not picky on when to destroy him. I’m also not sure if she’s been trying those few weeks before the end of every twelve months, but if she doesn’t do so quickly, he’ll be strong enough to defeat her! That sense of urgency isn’t conveyed, because during this film, the last time she successfully chased the boy down is during the Year of the Ox.
