The Crisis on Infinite Earths is beginning tonight, and TheCW’s Supergirl is where it starts! The setup is good enough to resolve a few loose ends never addressed during The Arrow and to make us aware we’re getting a five-act story. That is, we can expect all the rising action happen in The Flash and see the climax in Arrow. Each segment is basically an episode of one of this network’s superhero based shows.
As Barry is convinced he will die in this Crisis, Oliver argues otherwise–especially concerning the deal he made with the Monitor. Most followers know of the demise of the television show that started it all and it’s not surprising that the hero will go out on a literal bang. Spoilers follow. You have been warned.

Several rewatches were needed to absorb the semi mid-season finale to CW’s power trio of shows featuring The Dominators from DC Comic’s lore. As many fans have already vocalized on social media, Supergirl was not one of the episodes essential to viewing, and nor does it have to explain Kara’s absence while she is on Earth-1, helping Flash, Arrow and the Legends of Tomorrow team deal with an alien threat.
True to the comics is why this alien race is here, they fear the meta-humans and want to put them six feet under before they become a galactic threat. But does that mean there is further trouble in store for heroes in the future? Somewhere, in all these parallel Earths is an even greater threat. Darkseid is not likely coming, but the Legion of Doom is. This fact has been revealed a while back on DC Comic’s website, and it will be exciting to see Malcolm Merlyn (John Barrowman), Damien Darhk (Neal McDonough), the Reverse-Flash (Matt Letscher) and Captain Cold (Wentworth Miller) together.

Unless convention goers to Seattle‘s largest pop culture convention are online every day for the latest news, the last few weeks have been a flurry of cancellations and tweaks to a schedule of which media guests are indeed attending and at what days they are able to appear. The fine print is written on ECCC’s website for some time: work commitments come first.
Unlike the Toronto Comic Convention where they did everything in their power to bring Karen Gillan in to be with her fans with the fastest manmade jet to bring her to this show, the powers that be at the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) brought news that only the observant will notice: another episode of Doctor Who is going into production and Jenna Coleman revealed on her Twitter feed that she is back at work. Unless there is a working TARDIS and a Time Lord willing to change destiny, the inevitable had to happen: a couple of hours later, ECCC confirmed that she will no longer be attending the convention. Although the news is sad, the convention committee pulled off some magic and has brought Alex Kingston, the Doctor’s “real” wife, to the fore!

Because of CW’s success with Arrow, their next project, The Flash, will be on this network’s hit list to bring DC Comics’ universe to the small screen. That’s if Oliver can hit him. A crossover episode is inevitable and those in the know will see this speedster slowing down to appear in three episodes in season two of Arrow.
The question of whether or not this spinoff will succeed is hard to say. The costume looks slick, but for the attitude … The Flash in the DC Animated Universe was fun and developed to provide comedy relief. Will that carry over to the live-action? Only time will tell.
Fans of the original 90’s series will be thrilled to learn that John Wesley Shipp is bridging the gap in this new reboot/reimaging. But if the plot shows the passing of the torch, that will be a great nod to how the comics defined this character. The comic books did have different characters become The Flash.
The cast will also include Daneille Panabaker, Carlos Valdes, Tom Cavanagh, Jesse L. Martin, Candice Patton and Rick Cosnett.
