In Time Patrol Bon The Future Isn’t Written Back to the Future Style

Although Ream Stream is a hokey name for the heroine in Time Patrol Bon, she’s a better “Doctor Who” type of character than the current one on Disney Plus/BBC.

Time Patrol Bon Publicity StillPart Two Will Be Available on July 17, 2024 on Netflix

Time Patrol Bon is a fairly faithful look at various legends and unsolved mysteries from around the world. Whether that is concerning a moment of history, part of mythology or a missing person, just how Bon Namihira (Akihisa Wakayama and Griffin Burns in the dub) gets involved is because he’s seen things which can put his timeline in peril.

As a result, a young time lord is watching him and has recruited him into the agency she works for. They monitor anomalies that can disrupt history. In some ways, what’s presented is like early episodes of the Irwin Allen series, Time Tunnel. And for spicing it up for fans of Marvel’s Loki to enjoy, there are some shared aspects I liked.

Where’s The New Attitude with Beverly Hills Cop Axel F?

Beverly Hills Cop Axel F isn’t always focussed on the nostalgia, and that’s a good thing since the story takes place nearly 30 years later.

Beverly Hills Cop Axel F Movie PosterAvailable to Stream on Netflix
Spoiler Alert

One of the most beloved franchises from the 80s is Beverly Hills Cop. I believe that’s because of the music. To bring it back decades later had me asking why. While part of the reason is attributed to Eddie Murphy enjoying a comeback after the success of Dolemite Is My Name, there may be another reason. Last year’s Candy Cane Lane is forgettable, I’ll still think of him as the irrepressible Donkey from the Shrek films more than anything else. As for the character that made him the superstar, to title the continuation Beverly Hills Cop Axel F says it all.

Although I was half expecting to hear new music, the new song remixes works just as well. Sadly, this fourth instalment forgets Patti Labelle’s “Stir It Up.” I can listen to that song all day. But as for this film, it doesn’t really focus on the beloved element that made the early two films (the third wasn’t that good) memorable. It’s the camaraderie the trio–Foley (Murphy), Rosewood (Judge Reinhold) and Taggert (John Ashton)–had together that made this franchise special.

When Jurassic World Chaos Theory Proves The Fact That People Should Not Remain Apart…

Jurassic World Chaos TheoryIn Jurassic World Chaos Theory, the kids have grown up, and they’re using some of those experiences to deal with the latest hurdle. And that’s to deal with rogue dinosaurs roaming North America! Although I’m still trying to figure out how this title fits even on my fourth binge-watch, some facts are certain: they’re matured and some are taking the fight to a whole new level.

What I love is that a few answers regarding how this team managed to cope in the past are provided in simply one-liners. Although six years have passed, it seems only one of them still suffers from PTSD. But to see that a few went to work with the Department of Prehistoric Wildlife (DPW) is a head scratcher. I would’ve thought they’d want a normal life. Darius (Paul-Mikél Williams) is a dinosaur whisperer, but he left after a wPaul-Mikél Williams, Kiersten Kelly, Sean Giambrone, Raini Rodriguez, Darren Barnet, Kausar Mohammedhile, for some undisclosed reason.

Between Duty and Obligation, Ultraman Rising Delivers DreamWorks Style Quality To This Japanese IP

The beauty that’s found in Ultraman Rising is that it’ll appeal to anyone who doesn’t know a thing about this franchise.

Ultraman Rising PosterComing to Netflix Nov 14, 2024

Just how many Ultramen exist depends on who you ask. With Netflix hosting its own series simply titled after this hero (which feels like a rehash of Iron Man Armoured Adventures) and also Ultraman Rising, the count has unofficially increased by two. Back in 2013, Tsuburaya Productions acknowledged thirty-six heroes existed since Ultra Q’s debut in 1966. As for how many more have existed since then, I believe at least eight have been added

Here, Ken Sato (Yuki Yamada) is an all American baseball star by day, and a Japanese hero by night. The only reason he’s pulling double duty is that his father, who was the previous incarnation, suffered an injury. Someone said it’s best for him to come home.

Even though everybody in Japan loves Ultraman, not everyone agrees. There are other folks who see him as a vigilante. Dr. Onda (Fumihiko Tachiki) is kind of like Harvey Bullock in the Batman universe; he’s a staunch opponent, although both protect Japan from monsters. This scientist leads the Kaiju Defence Force whereas the sports personality is solo. And that attitude won’t get him far in a sport dependent on teamwork.

Oh, Poor Atlas, Why Must A.I. Be Challenged?

That’s because with this film starring J Lo, the agenda is to create another franchise that feels like Terminator and Warhammer combined. Had Atlas played by some other rules, it might work.

Netflix Atlas Movie PosterHumanity’s distrust of artificial intelligence is lightly examined in Atlas, a movie that’s more about a woman bearing this name. She’s a data analyst and to say she hates robots is the least of her problems. Jennifer Lopez not only is the lead but also one of three producers hopeful that this A-lister can become the next Linda Hamilton.

When this tale had its version of Terminator’s Judgment Day, thankfully, not every city was blown up. Instead, an all out war gets waged and she’s somehow involved in how it started. I suspect that’s why this film is named as it is. The weight of the world is upon her shoulders, and unless she fixes what’s right, this battle will continue.

Although this film does not have a direct correlation with the Greek Titan, I had to wonder. Instead, it’s about an android, Harlan (Simu Liu) hell-bent on total annihilation of humanity. Thankfully, there’s G.I. Joe to the rescue; the space rangers did a fantastic job at defeating the enemy and when he delivered a moment worthy of Cobra Commander when he calls for a retreat, I laughed!
