The English dubbed trailer recently dropped for Studio Ghibli‘s The Boy and the Heron and it looks good! When there’s top notch performers coming in to provide a track for those who prefer this release over the other (i.e. subtitles), it’s sure to be a hit! and I’m looking forward to check out both. You can’t go wrong with Mark Hamill! For a full list of credits, please check out GKIDS official webpage here.
As excitement builds for what is presumedly Hayao Miazaki’s final film, GKIDS is offering early screenings in select cities across the United States of America, and hopefully Cineplex Cinemas will follow suit. They have not made any formal announcements yet, but it’s safe to say there will be screenings. Fans are encouraged to contact their local major theatre chain for when it will be screening there.
This month will be busy too with the release of Godzilla Minus One, coming to theatres December 1. It’s swimming across the Pacific to land in America sooner than later, especially when the fan response is tremendous. It opened in Japan, grossing more than ¥1 billion, and to acclaim.
Fans in America excited for this film have a lot to be anxious for. It’s treating Gojira as a threat, and what’s presented here does more than remind us on why the first movie is important. Here, what’s presented concerns a beast being just that, and the redesign will no doubt have toy collectors wanting a “piece of him” too.
TOHO International is managing the screenings that will take place following the USA debut on Nov 10, in Los Angeles. To stay updated with the latest information, please check out their Twitter page (Japanese only) or the official studio webpage.
