Which Scooby-Doo Are You on Halloween?

Curiously, despite the Scooby Doo franchise being over 50 years old, there aren’t that many releases featuring the gang in Halloween-specific adventures. Although there’s a handful of works released during the month of October, they honestly don’t count.

I can only name two–Scooby-Doo and the Ghoul School from (1988) and Happy Halloween, Scooby-Doo! (2020). This romp marks Warner Brothers’s foray into uniting all their franchises by bringing in The Scarecrow from Batman. However, his warning to the gang, “You’re in over your head in this one,” goes unheeded.

They try to figure out what’s going on in this latest crime caper and meet Elvira. Her appearances with this franchise is synonymous with the season. Her appearance here felt more of an obligatory inclusion than anything else. I’d rather return to seeing the gang deal with their usual problem solving from the televised series.

There have been more episodes made featuring Scooby, Shagging, Fred, Velma and Daphne digging for answers. Among the list includes:

SCOOBY DOO | Scooby doo images, Scooby doo mystery incorporated, Scooby dooScooby Doo, Where Are You?
“To Switch a Witch” (from season three)

The Scooby-Doo/Dynomutt Hour
“The Headless Horseman of Halloween”

The New Scooby and Scrappy-Doo Show
“A Halloween Hassle at Dracula’s Castle”

What’s New, Scooby-Doo?
“A Scooby-Doo Halloween”

Be Cool Scooby-Doo.
“Halloween”

Long time fans may well feel jaded that this mystery solving group doesn’t get the love during Samhain. I blame it on Shaggy and Scooby trick or treating than dealing with phantoms! This light-hearted look can be enhanced by adding the following titles to the viewing schedule. After all, we need to complete the Thirteen Ghosts, er trials of Scooby-Doo somehow!

Supplemental Favourites include (links go to Amazon USA for DVD purchases)

Scooby-Doo Meets the Boo Brothers
Scooby-Doo and the Witch’s Ghost
Scooby-Doo in Where’s My Mummy?
Scooby Doo! Music of the Vampire
Scooby-Doo! and KISS Rock and Roll Mystery
Scooby-Doo! and the Curse of the 13th Ghost
