Coming Feb 21, 2017 is LEGO Worlds and this open world video game aims to have players build new realms for others to explore in. It’s sort of like what Disney Infinity offered with downloadable customizable content, and this product will be available for the PlayStation4, Xbox One and on STEAM. It will be available at a MSRP of $29.99
“Whether customizing characters, exploring in vehicles, building structures, or discovering an expansive range of items, characters and creatures throughout the worlds, there’s the freedom to create anything imaginable,” said Jonathan Smith, Head of Production, TT Games.
Gamers interested in playing this game can still find it on STEAM Early Access. It remains available for purchase at the introductory price of $16.99 and it updatable, to reflect the final version at no additional cost.
In what this software developer has created has the LEGO enthusiast in me excited, and I’ll be looking forward to building that TRON world that I’ve been wanting to recreate ever since I fell in love with the “creator theory” (i.e. the mythology) this series extolled. I have always wanted to be Flynn during the original film as he summoned forth parts of a broken down Recognizer and reform it. The North American trailer has a soundtrack which has me vividly recalling this particular film and I’m excited to try this product out when it releases next year. As David Haddad, President of Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, has said, “It combines unlimited creativity with the LEGO humour that fans love.”
After these new realms are made, players can interact in them within those fun puzzle and adventure elements TT Games are renowned for. Here, the imagination literally can run wild: From cowboys riding giraffes to vampires scaring Yetis, to steamrollers, racing cars and colossal digging machines, gamers can embark on a quest to become a Master Builder by helping other LEGO characters along the way. This goal can be achieved by finding a sword for a king, protecting a farmer from a zombie invasion or building a home for a caveman.
In the company’s press release:
Environments and creations are brought to life in any way fans can imagine, either by building brick by brick, placing down enormous prebuilt LEGO structures, or by using wondrous tools that let you paint and shape the landscape. LEGO Worlds’ online multiplayer functionality allows players to explore each other’s worlds together, create together, and engage in cooperative and competitive play experiences that players can build themselves.
A separate LEGO Agents DLC pack, featuring new characters, vehicles, weapons and more from the Agents range of play materials, will be available exclusively on PlayStation 4 for a limited time.
