Celebrating 100 Years Of Warner Bros. and Defying the Odds. Broadcast Guide and Filling in the Gaps

There’s a lot of information packed into 100 Years of Warner Bros. documentary, and ultimately, one might want the book to read afterwards.

100 Years Of Warner Bros.Warner Bros. is celebrating a huge milestone, and in the documentary 100 Years of Warner Bros., everything we want to know about their early days is covered! The first episode is the best of the four-part series and the host of this trip through memory lane is Morgan Freeman. After it’s run on HBO Max, it’s now more widely available. In Canada, we can view the series on HOLLYWOOD SUITE as each episode is released each weekend this month!

Not only do we learn about this studio’s humble beginnings through the eyes of many performers and filmmakers, but also discover what brothers Harry, Albert, Sam, and Jack’s goals were. Not all of them had a true love for cinema versus wanting to be the king in a place formerly known as Hollywood Hills. To set up shop there meant knowing what America likes to see at the Nickelodeons and having access to talents who will no doubt put them in the public eye, like Errol Flynn.

Ben-Hur Goes To The Races and Loses, A Review

BenHurPosterBy Ed Sum (The Vintage Tempest)

I would rather watch Les Misérables again than try to suffer through the 2016 remake of Ben-Hur by Night Watch‘s director Timur Bekmambetov. What went wrong? For one thing, Hollywood really must stop with remaking classics under the thought a story will look better with improved special effects. Some classics are best left untouched. Movies with loose Biblical connections seem cursed; it’s like the Devil is doing his job too well to get the masses to turn away from these type of films.

John Ridley is one of the co-writers of this movie. He’s best known for 12 Years a Slave, and the name should be familiar enough to those who know his work from the mid 90’s with The Fresh Prince of Bel Air and The John Larroquette Show. Mind you, with those films, there’s star power at the lead to really help carry those two fantastic shows. When Jack Huston is pegged to star as one of the major leads, not everyone will be familiar enough with his resume. He played Pete Musane in American Hustle and I recall seeing him in Pride and Prejudice and Zombies. This latest film will not elevate him by any means, although I would love to see him and James McAvoy appear together in any future project. They share a similar type of acting style.

The Lego Movie Trailer!

In the film an ordinary Lego minifigure mistaken for a MasterBuilder is recruited to help stop an evil Lego tyrant from gluing the universe together.

The newest Lego Movie trailer is here from Warner Brothers and if one may say it’s looking good for 2014. One doesn’t have to be a builder of Lego to appreciate a good stop motion animated movie or a collector of it’s blocks and special sets.

From the trailer it appears many characters from the Lego universe will be in the film in either supporting roles or cameos.

The Lego Movie not only has a great cast in such names as Chris Pratt, Morgan Freeman, Elizabeth Banks and Liam Neeson but they have experienced directors at the helm. Attached to the Lego Movie are the team of Phil Lord and Chris Miller (21 Jump Street, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs) with Chris McKay (TVs Robot Chicken and Moral Orel) co-directing.
