Travelling to Japan? Ultraman’s 60th Anniversary is Ongoing! Here’s Where to Get Your Tokusatsu On!

It’s not too late to enjoy the celebrations! Ultraman’s 60th Anniversary has plenty of attractions being celebrated around South Asia. Here’s an #events listing of what’s happening till the end of the year!

Ultraman's 60th AnniversaryUltraman’s 60th anniversary celebrations are far from over. Although there was a Shōwa-era appearance during G-FEST in Chicago from July 10–12, fans have to travel to Japan to truly get a feel for how beloved this hero is. There are events taking place all over the country, as well as in other parts of East Asia. While Tokyo remains one of the easiest places to find Nebula M78’s greatest hero hiding in the mix, here’s a selection of some of the best shows to attend.

Some focus on the franchise’s history, while others spotlight the newest Ultra Heroes and current television productions.

August 2026

Ultra Heroes EXPO 2026
Summer Festival in Tokyo

Ultra Heroes EXPO 2026 Umeda Summer FestivalThis event continues at Ikebukuro Sunshine City in Tokyo from August 5 to 24 and at each stop, will introduce a different live-stage story. With appearances connected to Ultraman Teo, this show looks big! It also h as historical displays, live performances, Ultra Shot photography sessions and the Ultraman Department Store.

As one of the largest annual Ultraman gatherings in Japan, it remains the most complete option for fans who want stage entertainment, displays and exclusive merchandise in one place.

Umeda Summer Festival

As a slightly alternate show, what Osaka offers at the Umeda district promises to be different. It will run from August 5th to the 27th. And in addition to the same offerings as the Tokyo show, wht’s different here gives visitors the option of exploring the retail and exhibition areas separately from the ticketed performance programme.

Exhibition in Kitakyushu

Taking place at Space LABO in Kitakyushu until August 30 is a refreshed version of this tour. It’ll add several popular villains and rivals, including Dark Zagi, Ultraman Belial, Jugglus Juggler and Ultraman Tregear. Ultra Shot sessions are also scheduled to take place during this particular show. Unlike events primarily built around current television productions, this exhibition looks back at the broader creative history of the franchise. And it continues in other cities in the following months.

September 2026

Ultraman 60th Anniversary
Exhibition in Yokohama

Taking place at the Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse from September 5 to 27. is a bigger showcase that’ll explore more than 50 Ultraman productions. Visitors can expect historical costumes and props, detailed dioramas, photography areas and immersive visual installations exploring the franchise’s six-decade history. For anyone interested in how Ultraman evolved from the original 1966 television series into a worldwide pop-culture institution, this may be one of the year’s most substantial anniversary events.

Heisei Climax in Osaka

September 12 to 27.

The exhibition focuses on the Heisei era, making it particularly appealing to fans of productions such as Ultraman Tiga, Ultraman Dyna, Ultraman Gaia and Ultraman Mebius. Although the current New Generation heroes receive plenty of attention elsewhere, this exhibition gives one of the franchise’s most influential periods room to shine.

Ultra Heroes THE LIVE Tour Dates

These productions combine costumed hero performances, theatrical storytelling, action choreography and appearances by characters from multiple Ultraman series.

  • September 12: Fuzuhashima Cultural Centre in Gifu
  • September 19 and 20: Sukagawa in Fukushima
  • September 26: Ako in Hyogo Prefecture

The Sukagawa performances carry the title The Story That Continues to Be Woven. Sukagawa is especially significant to the franchise because it was the hometown of Ultraman co-creator Eiji Tsuburaya.

October & November 2026

Ultra Heroes THE LIVE
in Yokohama and Fukuoka

The autumn stage tour continues with two October performances:

  • October 3: Kannai Hall in Yokohama
  • October 11: Canal City Theatre in Fukuoka
  • November 1: Denryoku Hall in Sendai
  • November 14: Kashiwa Civic Cultural Hall in Chiba
  • November 28: Kadoma Civic Cultural Hall in Osaka

Ultraman Teo THE LIVE

Taiwan event runs until August 16.

Ultraman Teo THE LIVE in Taiwan

The production brings Ultraman Teo and other Ultra Heroes together for a large summer stage show. It is currently one of the most prominent Ultraman live events taking place outside Japan. this performance is travelling the country, taking place in different venues in each city, with the following to be happening soon:

  • August 7–8: Huludun Cultural Centre Concert Hall, Taichung
  • August 9: Taoyuan Arts Centre Performance Hall, Taoyuan
  • August 12: Xinying Cultural Centre Performance Hall, Tainan
  • August 14–15: Chih-The Hall at Kaohsiung Cultural Centre, Kaohsiung
  • August 16: Yunlin Performance Hall, Yunlin

The adventure outline is rather bold. When more than 60 years have passed since Ultraman first arrived on Earth and his legacy is being celebrated, there’s a dark force wanting to extinguish that light. To confront this approaching threat, Ultraman Omega has crossed the universe to summon heroes from throughout the ages and search for a new warrior who has yet to appear.

ULTRA HEROES EXHIBITION 2026

This Hong Kong show runs through September 13 and presents the franchise’s 60-year history and includes scheduled Ultra Hero appearances. The event will take place at Arena B2, Chong Hing Square, Mong Kok and is open daily from 11:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., with final admission at 8:30 p.m.

And on August 16, 2026 are the following Ultra Hero Meet-and-Greets:

  • 1:00–1:30 p.m.: Ultraman Neos
  • 3:00–3:30 p.m.: Ultraman Orb
  • 5:00–5:30 p.m.: Ultraman Z
  • 7:00–7:30 p.m.: Ultraman Zero

The exhibition presents the franchise’s 60-year history and includes scheduled Ultra Hero appearances. Its combination of displays, photography opportunities and character appearances makes it the closest regional counterpart to Japan’s anniversary exhibitions.

Additional events elsewhere in Asia may still be announced. At present, no major late-2026 programmes have been confirmed for South Korea, Singapore or Malaysia.

What About December?

The winter month is quiet; until then, September offers the busiest concentration of Ultraman activities. The Yokohama anniversary exhibition, Osaka’s Heisei-focused gallery and several Ultra Heroes THE LIVE performances all take place within the same month.

Whether fans want to study original production history, watch a theatrical battle, collect exclusive goods or chase digital kaiju across Fukushima, Ultraman still has plenty planned before 2026 reaches its final colour timer.
