Fan Expo Vancouver has two after parties taking place on Saturday night, April 19th, each starting at the same time, at 9pm. The official FEV party will take place at Vistas 360 at the top of the Renaissance Vancouver Harbourside Hotel, with a bar and perhaps some catering, but very little information have been released about this show. Updates will occur as Otaku no Culture receives them.

But the one we are excited about is hosted by Restricted Entertainment, Rue Morgue Magazine, The Ghostbusters of British Columbia & Galaxion at Five Sixty on 560 Seymour Street.

Taking up three floors, this particular event will see half its proceeds go in support of the BC Children’s Hospital Foundation. There will be a full service bar and three floors of Rue Morgue madness  to be had this year. Readers of the magazine know what their parties are like, and it’s wild with plenty of rabid fun and revelers showing up throughout the night and into the morning. There will be dancing, costume contests, burlesque and boylesque performances.

Plenty of fun is expected for this event that the Ghostbusters of BC charity organization is helping to put together. The true weekend warrior will most likely go to both just to see what’s up since some of the celebrities will no doubt make appearances at both. But as for which one they choose to be at longer will depend.

To note: autograph seeking is not encouraged. Just bear in mind the celebrities are here to relax in a comfortable environment with their fans than be deluged with photo selfies. Photographers are going to be present at both events to capture the fun, to publish on social media sites when Fan Expo wraps up.

The difference between gala parties and convention photographs is that the photographers during the Fan Expo Show are being paid to ensure that a great image is taken, so it can be framed. It’s not fun to be photographed when drunk and the organizers simply ask to please be respectful of all the party goers and guests present.

And to deal with the hangover the next day, cups of coffee and tabasco sauce, better get stocked up!

Ticket information for Fan Expo’s After Party can be found here, and for Rue Morgue’s / Ghostbusters Fandango here.
