Celebrating 20 Glorious Years at Fantasia Film Festival! Garo Taiga and Reintroducing This IP To A New Generation

Newcomers don’t need to know the franchise to enjoy Garo Taiga. It’s fairly self contained and can be an entry point to this franchise.

Garo Taiga Movie PosterA anniversary is being celebrated early at Fantasia Film Festival! Here, Garo Taiga made its cinematic worldwide debut for its emerald jubilee while fans in Japan must wait until October 17, 2025. Getting an early look is exciting—I’m always eager for any IP known for intense action and visceral body horror. With a few challenges involving some amusing tough guys to defeat–namely a duo whom I like to call the Clockwork Twins–and a foul-mouthed talking ring (wonderfully voiced by Hironobu Kageyama), I couldn’t help but think of Vampire Hunter D, where the protagonist’s left hand also has a sarcastic personality.

When there are transformation scenes as wild as The Guyver, and it sticks to a premise simple enough for younger viewers, it’s a visceral element I can enjoy. Here, our hero, Taiga Saejima (Hiroyuki Watanabe) must retrieve a stolen artifact housing the souls of four elementals. They can help him face his rival, Jado (Toshiki Seto), or hinder him. When this individual is too powerful to face alone, Taiga will need ‌help from other Makai Knights for help.

Superman Unveiled: A Brilliant New Beginning for the DC Universe!

This review and analysis of James Gunn’s Superman examines its strengths and weaknesses. Despite curious role shifts, what’s offered is as inherently good as reading an Alan Moore comic book.

Superman (2025) posterSpoiler Alert

Dissecting the text that begins James Gunn and Peter Safran‘s restart of Superman (2025) reveals a grand vision. Even with some unusual choices in supporting roles to introduce this tale, this movie is terrific for fans of the “Gods and Monsters” narrative arc as they reinvent what the animated film, Justice League: Gods and Monsters tried a decade ago. Alan Burnett and Bruce Timm packed a lot of ideas into a 75 minute film. I loved it, but sadly, the reception for it was poor. Even though the ideas continued to be explored in future DC Comics / Warner Bros. releases, not every work was as hardcore. When MCU’s Thunderbolts Fizzles Because of the MCU Grand Plan

To say Thunderbolts struck gold is a misnomer. Its mix of Captain America 2 with the Suicide Squad formula isn’t as thrilling.

Thunderbolts Movie PosterSpoiler Alert

Marvel Entertainment’s latest film, Thunderbolts, is hardly electrifying. Despite all the wrangling to make a cinematic universe that depends on one another to keep fans invested, trying to watch this latest only made me think of Suicide Squad more than accepting this new team is the next Avengers. I got bored halfway through the film, and it’s mostly because of a lack of interest in who makes up this team.

As much as I like Yelena Belova’s (Florence Pugh) new look and what’s motivating her to continue on, I am glad to see David Harbour back as Alexei Shostakov / Red Guardian. He’s still the comic relief. As for the others, I couldn’t care less because of one problem.

Hungry For Justice League vs Godzilla vs Kong 2? Thoughts on This Upcoming Release.

It’s hard to say if season two of Monarch: Legacy of Monsters will air in 2025, but in comic book front, fans of Legendary’s Monsterverse can get their fix with the comic book Justice League vs Godzilla vs Kong 2.

Justice League vs Godzilla vs King Kong 2 CoverGetting ready for release next month is Justice League vs Godzilla vs Kong 2. Here, Task Force X’s attempt to create hybrid Titans to rule DC’s Earth Prime universe may well involve invading the Monsterverse! Although I voiced my thoughts on the last series (review link), I’m still curious how this second series will proceed.

Although Legendary Comics is a division whose partnership with other studios has changed over the years, just how this affects the bottom line is still odd. Some departments are autonomous but still have to pitch to executives managing IPs to get the funding to move projects forward.

Here, all that’s known about the upcoming series is that the heroes have to travel into the Monsterverse to convince some titans to hide from Amanda Waller’s plan to create another Suicide Squad. My suspicion is that, and because the summary lacked detail, I had to consider her motivation for creating her own Jurassic Park.

The Art of Marvel Snap

The Art of Marvel Snap is not meant to be a comprehensive look at everything featured in the mobile game. Instead it’s a best of.

The Art of Marvel Snap
Available to purchase on Amazon USA

Dark Horse Comics

More than a few characters are missing in The Art of Marvel Snap, and I think the selection of who’s the sexist is rather good. When this digital collectable card game is regularly adding characters, it’s impossible to be current, and if people think that a print publication is a guide, it really isn’t. It’s the best of which shows a few extra variant art designs to satisfy fans.

If I wanted a complete catalogue of every card, I would prefer a regularly updated digital book to this hardcover. This edition considers which character designs are really cool looking, and I’m glad Deadpool and Rogue has an entry. While not every X-men (Cyclops and Ice-Man) is here, at least the core team from the Avengers are. One character that’s suspiciously missing but is in the game is Kitty Pryde. Either she was phased out or is hiding somewhere. Thankfully, they all exist in the app, but for being featured in a huge compendium like this, there must be a reason!

Captain America Brave New World: More Thoughts Than A Review About Why This Film Matters

This movie only serves to get audiences used to a new person as a hero in Captain America Brave New World. But another question exists regarding whether he can truly lead a new guard?

Captain America Brave New WorldSpoiler Alert

A Marvel Cinematic World without Captain America feels weird. And even though I know what’s planned, my question is can Sam Wilson (Anthony Mackie) fit in Steve Roger’s shoes? He can, because one earns the title rather than it belonging to a specific person. And if he is to represent a new generation in Captain America Brave New World, hopefully the people of Earth 616 will embrace it.

When this new hero is important to President Thaddeus Ross’s (Harrison Ford) master plan, hopefully getting that approval is enough. This standalone film doesn’t feel like one. And when they saved the only hint of the grander plan for last, I could have hit the fast-forward button. Not everyone knows it is part of “The Multiverse Saga.” The idea started with Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021) and continued in Doctor Strange: Multiverse of Madness (2022) and later on, Ant-Man & the Wasp: Quantumania (2023), hopefully those people invested in seeing this seventeen old franchise go on won’t be waiting too long for this new grand arc to hit its finale.
