Mononoke Hime Collector’s Edition to hit Shelves May 14th!

Owners of the complete works of Studio Ghibli need not pick up this edition. However, for those who are just jumping in and cannot afford the mega-pack, buying these Collector’s editions are a must.

Fans of Hayao Miyazaki can rejoice! The next title in GKIDs and Shout! Factory‘s Studio Ghibli Collector’s Edition release is Mononoke Hime. This film is one of this filmmaker’s finest. An all new essay in this package explains the themes so everyone can enjoy this work as this director intended. Included in this box set is a 38-page booklet, the soundtrack and images from the Art of publication.

As a lifelong fan of this studio’s works, I have no problems buying this title again. Perhaps, in the future, a digital code can be offered so we can enjoy both the movie and music on the go.

Hayao Miyazaki is the Never-Ending Man. This documentary about his attempt at retirement is finally arriving on home video, and it shows he’s not ready for that quieter life just yet. He loves art and he loves creating. In his spare time, he’s working on illustrations for display at the Ghibli Museum and his home life is not the focus. His relationship with the Studio is more important. This work directed by Kaku Arakawa simply follows the day-to-day life of this filmmaker and stays unobtrusive as we see him make magic.

This studio was formed to allow him to express all his creative visions. Whether that’s to explore spirituality and reveal the essence of being, to see the production process is a rare look in a world not often discussed. Without him, the little prefecture of Koganei in Tokyo, Japan would seem like another quiet neighbourhood.

Flying Higher and Higher with Tito and the Birds

Tito and the Birds is a Brazilian animated movie that transcends. His avian friends are everywhere, and they symbolize a higher power he immediately recognizes. The alien rocks (that were once human) he finds are bumps on a log for a reason…

Praise is high for this work, and it will soon land on home video on April 23 courtesy of Shout! Factory.

Super Sentai Madness Live Show Conclusion to Stream April 7

This Sunday, Shout! Factory TV presents the live finale to Super Sentai Madness! The conclusion to an epic tournament of Super Sentai villains and their corresponding Sentai episodes will be live-streamed beginning April 7 at 6 p.m. PT on Shout! Factory TV’s site, Twitch channel and Pluto TV channel.

Karan Ashley (Mighty Morphin Power Rangers), Andre Meadows (Power Rangers Hyperforce) and Shout! Factory’s Brian Ward will break down the results of the three-week Super Sentai Madness tournament. Accompanied by Sentai experts like Shamus Kelley, the live show will break down all of the villain match-ups, explore the relationship between Super Sentai and Power Rangers, stir interaction with fans on Twitter and Twitch, and reveal the ultimate winner of the tournament.

Additionally, the bracket contest winner will be picked live, and the winner receives a Shout! Factory shopping spree.

Factory is proud to bring back Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: The Movie (1995) as a standalone release on June 4, 2019, Bonus features include new interviews, original featurette, and the theatrical trailer. Before, it was packaged with Turbo: A Power Rangers Movie as a double-feature and it was part of the 25th anniversary DVD steel book box set of the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers TV series. With both out of print, to see this team re-emerge was just a matter of time.
