In 2026, Will Disney’s D23 Announce a Gargoyles Revival? The Online Hype Fails To Register The Obvious….

Let’s be logical: three long-time friends in the studio and not fully talking about the Gargoyles revival is the tell all. They are name dropping rather than reliving fond times at the recording booth.

Disney's Gargoyles Revival?If Disney is officially creating a Gargoyles revival as an animated series, then this weekend’s D23 in Anaheim would be the best time to announce it. Instead, a lot of other pop culture media sites (including cbr.com) are hinging their reports on a few words said by Brent Spiner and Jonathan Frakes on their Dropping Names with Brent and Jonny podcast on July 29, 2026 (titled Michael Dorn and His Untold Stories). The voice actor who voiced Puck in the original Gargoyles series, revealed that he’d apparently heard some interesting news around the 56 minute mark.

“They’re doing Gargoyles again!”

Frakes was surprised. When the conversation turned to what exactly that meant, Spiner clarified: “I was told this morning. It’s another animated series.”

Whether this is true or not remains up to Disney to officially confirm, and original show creator Greg Weisman hasn’t said anything about it either. As of writing, neither has happened. And in terms of the podcast, Dorn did not bat an eye. It’s as though he’s forgotten he voiced Coldstone, whose unfinished story would certainly be nice to see continued. When considering all three worked on the show in various degrees of “separation,” to have Michael not even care says it all.
