Straight out of theatres and into your home, Luc Besson’s Dracula is ready to strike beginning March 10, 2026. It is already listed on Prime Video, and is reported to be one of Vertical’s highest-grossing releases to date. This romantic reimagining stars Caleb Landry Jones, Christoph Waltz, and Zoë Bleu, and offers a bold new take on the iconic vampire myth.

In my review, I noted that Dracula: A Love Tale reshapes the familiar myth into a sweeping gothic romance driven by loss, reincarnation, and pulp energy. Caleb Landry Jones leans hard into the Count’s theatrical menace, while Christoph Waltz gives Van Helsing a scene-stealing presence that helps keep the film lively. Though the digital effects can feel uneven, the film still lands as an entertaining and memorable take on the legend.

Although a Blu-ray and DVD release date has not yet been announced, seeing this vampire reincarnate around Easter would be rather ironic indeed.

Autumn Animated Series Guide and Beyond. What’s Best to Watch and What’s Best to Avoid

Late 2025’s slate of cartoons mixes fairy-tale mysteries, anime eco-adventures, and Afrofuturist visions. A few sparkle, some stumble, but each animated series reminds us what’s ripe for storytelling.

Autumn 2025 animated series guideWhen the autumn slate of television programming for youths is in full gear, just what we enjoy watching isn’t always going to be offered on the big three—Amazon Prime, Netflix or Hulu. There’s some great animated series in the world of streaming rather than network for obvious reasons. Luckily, the last stretch of 2025 has a few curious newcomers and oddball experiments worth watching—or at least watching for. Some shimmer with potential, others… less so (Armorsaurs, we’re side-eyeing you). As to be fair for Devil May Cry, they deserve honourable mention despite having started in Spring than Fall.

They must navigate challenges of looking out for each other in a world where fairy tales are real!

Smart writing, lush design, and a tone that doesn’t talk down to its audience—it’s Apple’s most confident foray into youth fantasy since Wolfwalkers. And if you’ve seen DreamWorks Curses! you’ll recognise the storytelling model used too!

Five Sci-Fi and Fantasy Series 2025 to Look Forward To This Fall / Winter

Discover the top sci-fi and fantasy series 2025 to watch this fall and winter, from long-awaited finales to exciting new premieres on streaming.

Top sci-fi and fantasy series 2025With autumn in full swing in some parts of the world, the season brings a fresh wave of supernatural and sci-fi delights to television and streaming services. While some releases that started in August kind of counts, I must mention Alien: Earth along with Peacemaker. But for the official start of the season, here are five other sci-fi and fantasy series 2025 that I’m most looking forward to checking out this fall and winter.

And at long last, the much-anticipated finale of Secret Things is arriving—a conclusion that’s been years in the making. But I have to begin with:

Talamasca: The Secret Order (AMC)

As supernatural auditors, they keep tabs on vampires, witches, and all things that go bump in the night. On screen, that mix feels like The X-Files with rosaries and velvet capes. Launching just before Halloween, AMC is clearly betting that occult espionage and candlelit conspiracies will hook fans old and new.

Pluribus (Apple TV+)

From the team that gave us Severance comes a new nine-part series that promises to probe the ethics of power and technology. Pluribus looks polished, eerie, and loaded with allegory. If Black Mirror had a sibling that was less anthology and more serialized thriller, this would be it. With Apple’s knack for moody prestige sci-fi, this one could ignite serious water-cooler debates.

The Mighty Nein (Amazon Prime Video)

Critical Role isn’t slowing down. If The Legend of Vox Machina captured the spirit of high-energy campaigns, The Mighty Nein dives into murkier waters. This crew is scrappy, emotional, and gloriously messy—a perfect match for fans who like their fantasy tangled with moral ambiguity. Expect dazzling animation, sharp humour, and references that will reward long-time Critters while still staying friendly for newcomers to Exandria.

The Hawkins saga has always been more than just monsters—it’s a love letter to the 80s, stitched together with friendship and nostalgia. Few series have defined a decade of streaming like this one, and its conclusion is poised to be an event. Whether it sticks the landing alongside the greats remains to be seen, but one thing’s certain: Stranger Things is ending on its own terms, fireworks and all.

Marvel Zombies (Disney+)

The Marvel multiverse takes a grotesque detour as Earth’s mightiest heroes become flesh-eating nightmares. With returning MCU voice talent, this isn’t just a side story—it’s Marvel embracing horror. The art style is bloodier, the tone darker, and for fans of the original comic run, this is long overdue.

Honourable Mentions: Network TV

Streaming dominates the landscape for bold sci-fi and fantasy, but a few network shows still merit a glance for casual genre fans. These are ongoing series:

  • Ghosts (CBS) – A supernatural comedy blending humor with light ghostly adventures, perfect for fans looking for something fun without diving too deep into horror.
  • La Brea (NBC) – A sci-fi mystery exploring a massive sinkhole in Los Angeles that leads to a prehistoric world. It’s tense, adventurous, and network-friendly.
For those of us who grew up relying on network TV for our weekly dose of adventure and intrigue, it’s worth noting just how much the landscape has shifted. The Big Three—ABC, NBC, and CBS—no longer offer the kind of bold, imaginative programming that once made shows like Magnum P.I. or Simon & Simon must-watch staples. Today, if you want daring sci-fi, supernatural thrills, or morally complex fantasy, streaming platforms are where the innovation lives. That’s why this season’s lineup of AMC, Netflix, Apple TV+, Disney+, and Prime Video originals is so exciting—they’re taking risks and telling stories that network TV simply can’t.
