Digital Release: October 27, 2026
It seems that reactions are really divided between fans and critics concerning DreamWorks Animation’s Forgotten Island. Overall, despite a few questionable choices, I enjoyed this film. My movie review can be read here. And with it coming to digital and home video, I can check for those easter eggs, find what’s important with freeze frame, and study the extras.
As for the 4K UHD, Blu-ray™ and DVD release, where there’s more value for your buck and better bit rates, that’s Dec 1, 2026 from Universal Pictures Home Entertainment.
Both releases offer 60 minutes of exclusive bonus content, and that’s important to know.
Exclusive features include:

The story follows two lifelong best friends, Jo (Gabriella Sarmiento Wilson)) and Raissa (Liza Soberano)). On their last night together before life pulls them apart, they stumble through a mysterious portal to Nakali, an island full of the magical and mythological creatures they grew up hearing about from their Filipino families. Their guide is a well-meaning but hapless weredog named Raww (Dave Franco). Their problem is The Dreaded Manananggal (Lea Salonga), the most feared creature on the island. To get home, they’d have to hand over the memories of their entire friendship. So it’s a race to find another way out before they forget each other forever.
It’s a heartwarming original story about best friends, adventure and the bonds that keep us connected. Joel Crawford and Januel Mercado wrote and directed, with Mark Swift producing. That’s the same team behind Puss in Boots: The Last Wish, and Mercado’s first full directing credit.
